We're baaaaaack!First of all Tessa - we had a Cuddles guinea pig too!!!!!* Actually, my sister did.* Then a few weeks later Cuddles presented us with Lenny and Squeaky (Squiggy turned out to be a girl!) - does this tell you about the time we had these pigs?* Great pets! Fun to take out and let run around the house, gentle, teaches responsibility but not so small and rat like which is what hamsters remind me of.* And they will learn to squeal when the hear the refrigerator door open if you feel them lots of carrots and lettuce.* OK Debbie if these are legitimte codes what is the problem?* I don't get it!!!* But I'm all about saving money any way you can.* And yes I do "cheat" from time to time.....Now on to my trip tales.....So on the way up y'all know about all the horrendouse traffic - the snowbirds heading back home, plus some spring breakers heading home, too.I really thought last week was the "big" week for spring break.* I was wrong.* The entire state of Michigan must be on break this week, because I swear I saw EVERYONE from the state on the road heading south on Friday.* Actually traffic wasn't too bad, at least we weren't really slowed down.Until Saturday.* We got a late start on Saturday cause Ally would not get out of bed!* She was exhausted!* So by the time we ate and got on the road, it was 9:15.* We got through Charlotte just fine on I-77, but by the time we got to Columbia, SC, and were getting ready to get on I-26, I called Jeff and told him to find me an alternate route.* It was bumper to bumper traffice and we were going between 50-60 mph.* I knew that when we got on I-95 it would be just like Christmas all over again (making a 6 hr trip in 10 1/2 hrs).* So he found me a direct route through some back woods towns in SC and GA. I know that I beat anyone who was traveling I-95, and in fact this route was probably only about 1/2 hr longer than going interstate.* And I have some "interesting" photos that I took along the way.* Queue Deliverance music now.....Happy Easter everyone!!!!* Today the Easter bunny brought Ally a new Webkins, a stuffed bunny, flip flops, and of course candy.** I got a Webkins too - my first......* Tonight the IT dude from Jeff's corporate office is coming for dinner.* He's been in town since Thursday, from Dallas, and isn't leaving until next week.* He booked this trip and didn't realize it was Easter weekend - so I insisted that Jeff have him over for dinner.* Poor guy, away from his family this weekend......Needless to say, as tired as I am, we've been frantically cleaning house.* Jeff thinks he cleaned it while I was gone.* He did the toilets and vacuumed.* Yeah, if only that were all that needed to be done to clean house......Have a great day everyone and don't eat too much ham!!!!

Sorry the last week was crazy. I'm now an offical catlick(tim's favorite joke :). Last night at the vigil I saw a girl had had gone to jr high with. She was severally handicap. I was excited to see that she is still healthy. I went to up to her and said hi. She didn't know who I was but her parents were over the moon that I said hi. She did have a big grin when I walked away though. I kind of hope she remembered me. We really did our best to include her in our class.

Happy Easter to all. The kids will be crazy full of candy. Church should be interesting. I can't remember did I tell you I renewed my vows last weekend and the kids made farting noises through the whole thing. I think that is the perfect representation of my life. It's always a fun ride.

Cammie sorry to hear that amanda is not feeling well. But grateful that she isn't in hospital.

Happy Easter:goodvibes Good to see you all still here. With Megan in preschool and having playdates all the time and of course sometimes cleaning I haven't been on the internet a lot. Miss you guys.
Talk to you later.

Kara! Glad you're home safe and sound. Can't wait to see the pics!popcorn::

Laura- your kids are too funny. What do you mean, a catlick?

LISA!!! Nice to see you here! What will Megan's social calendar be like when she's a teen if she's so busy now?:rotfl2:

We went to church at 9am, had my boys and families and my parents over for dinner at 11:30am. We had baskets and an egg hunt for the kiddies out in the yard before we ate.

We had starch overload - Ham, corn souffle, baked potatoes, home made tamales, fruit salad and rolls - jello cake for dessert. Ryan and Dana left pretty early, my parents just left and we are all napping. I of course have to check in with my DIS buds before I can sleep!:lovestruc Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Had a great day today! Went to the pool from 1-3:30 and ran into a bunch of friends up there. Then went home to start dinner and watch the Masters. We had the best dinner, just the 3 of us - ham, hash brown casserole, green beans, salad, deviled eggs, and rolls. Then apple pie for dessert (that would be courtesy of my friend Mrs Smith! :rotfl2:). Everything turned out great! After dinner we snuck out to the course and played 3 holes of golf.

Now getting ready to turn in early. I'm still tired from all the driving this weekend.

Hope y'all had a great weekend! "Talk" to you tomorrow!

Cammie - hope Amanda is doing better today!

Hiya all,

I guess ham must be traditional for Easter over there?? We go for roast lamb more over here.

Well, the piggies survived the weekend so we must be doing something right - and they started to drink from their bottle too - so a big relief. I am loving how clean they are, they seem to love grooming themselves. The kids love holding them and brushing them - trouble is they love it sooooooooo much!!! The first time ever they said yesterday, "do we HAVE to go to Gran and Granddad's today - can't we stay with the Guinea pigs..." Answer YES we do and NO you can't! I was amazed - especially as they knew there was LOTs of chocolate awaiting. Let's see how long that lasts!!!!

Don't know about you lot - but with us the spring seems to have brought out "bickering" disease amongst the girls - they will not leave each other alone, or EVER drop an argument
Also my eldest had a growth spurt, so now her brain doesn't seem to know how long her legs are and she tripped over the door sill twice in 2 days (onto a concrete/cement path) and her arms and legs and one hip are BLACK AND BLUE. I think it is all part of the same Spring fever you see in young animals jumping about the fields!!

Anyhow - got to go feed the lot of them....

tessa

Tessa! You are so funny!:lmao: I was noticing you say "Hiya all" and Kara says, "Hi Y'all!" :goodvibes Alot of people over here like roast lamb for Easter. I think it's an acquired taste - we raised lambs, but I didn't acquire the taste!

I'm glad the girls are enjoying the piggies! Sounds like your daughter is at that stage - her mind hasn't kept up with her body - now it doesn't know where all her parts are!:) I'm sorry about the bruises. Next comes the PMS. Sorry. :headache:

Kara, I'm glad you had such a nice day! No IT guy? How nice to go to the pool! We were happy to be outside for a little while in 60 and sunshine for our little egg hunt.

I have to get to sleep - I have a ton to do tomorrow - leave for Vegas tuesday.

Bittersweet morning here - sucks to be back to work, but it's good to be home.....

Hope everyone is feeling well this morning! Gonna try to get back to some healthy eating with smaller portions today. Plus, gotta get in my 8 glasses of water! I ate like crap last week - ate out waaaaaaay too much! Plus, I know I'll be digging for chocolate in Ally's Easter basket. So I need to find a good balance.

Off to catch up on a zillion emails!

Good Morning Girls

It's been a long weekend here and I am exhauseted the in laws are here and it's fine so far. I think I am taking in Mike's aunt who needs full time round the clock care so that means I am not sure if I am going to be able to work:confused3 I think I may have to hold my ground and let him stay home. I need the break. The in laws also want us to give up our Disney trip to take the trip over to Italy, but I am thinking that's a no go too!

Hope everyone had a great Easter.

Cammie - sorry to hear that Amanda is having such a rough go - and that in turn is turning into a rough go for Mom. :guilty: The computer thing sounds like such a PITA! I'm so sorry.

Kara - glad you made it in safe & sound. :goodvibes

I took Mia to the allergist this morning, so we will do the skin test tomorrow am - and we can put this peanut allergy - is she/isn't she allergic question to bed. :cool1:

We worked outside all day yesterday. Had SONIC for our easter dinner. :rotfl: We worked in the garage all day long but we finally have both cars in - NICE!

So my friend called yesterday. :rolleyes1 She just booked her trip - and we will be overlapping by 3 days. She changed her resort to CSR. Then started saying things like "we can take the kids to the pool together" and "maybe we'll go there too for lunch" etc. She was not happy about me having the first night dinner with Kara. :lmao:

I think I should take her to Boma and stick her at BSIL table, becuase they are both cut from the same cloth!

However, I've been talking to my BF a lot this morning. She is so much more vocally open about things. She has offered to call this friend and tell her she is really intruding on our family vacation. I don't think that is the solution. I need to deal with it - and BF is right, it needs to be before the trip rather than during the trip -but it is still hard. I thought we were going to meet up at AK for a couple hours - but it seems like she thinks we are hanging out for 3 days. :scared1: Carlos is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not happy. :scared: I DO NOT want his first Disney experience to be screwed up bc of her and her self inviting self!

Then again, I think I'm being a b***h because here I have this friend who obviously thinks enough of me to want to be that close. It is just a mess. :sad2:

So I'm dealing with that and trying to get birthday invites together. Always something going on here!

Kara - just seen you were under a red box - tornados? BE CAREFUL!

Just saw WE were under another tornado warning until 8 pm. :sad2: I'm sick of these tornadoes already!

So I have a question for you guys? How many of you actually use the EMH options for the AM? I haven't planned on doing them, but now I'm starting to wonder. Since we will be going through a time change, I figure dragging out to an 8:30 breakfast will be early enough for everyone (Nicolas excluded). Mia & Carlos don't get up until 8 am EARLIEST on days off.

Lorrie - we are scheduled to get rough weather tonight and tomorrow - right now it's all well west of us.

As for EMH, we do most mornings. I just feel that you can get sooooo much done in those first 2 hrs before everyone else rolls in. If I were taking afternoon breaks I would DEFINITELY do it! But when we do it, we roll out around lunchtime to another park b/c it gets really busy at that park in the afternoon.

As for your psycho friend. I would tell her flat out, "we already have our plans made and this is a FAMILY vacation. If we run into you, great, but Carlos and I have decided that we really just want to spend quality time as a family." Done. If she is seriously planning on spending that much time with you, she may want to cancel her trip and now is the time to do it. But you will make yourself sick with worry and you'll be on the lookout for her everywhere if you don't deal with it now. kwim?

:confused3 Okay - first, I thought the parks only open 1 hour earlier? but maybe you are talking about the first two hours of the day? :confused3

The only thing about changing is the blasted ADRs which are a blessing and a curse at this point. I originally didn't plan on any EMH so all that would be messed up!

I just printed out Steve Soar's stuff to get a good idea.

Kara - great point about PF (psycho friend) :lmao:. I am just such a big chicken about stuff like this. I HATE HATE HATE to hurt people's feelings. I guess that is why my mom refers to me as a "doormat". ha ha. I've got to step up and do something though. :scared:

As for daily game plan - yes, we were planning on maybe hoping parks in the PM anyway. :confused3 Carlos says he ABSOLUTELY wants a nap mid day! :lmao: I guess that is why I didn't worry so much about PF - she generally doesn't get going until at least 10:30 - for istance, she got her SON a BBB appt for 11:10 and said it was great timing because that was the beginning of her day - we'll by that point we are about to have lunch and head out. So I thought it would be a non issue. She just booked yesterday.

Lorrie - yes, EMH is only 1 hr early, and if Carlos and Mia are not early risers, don't do it. Just make sure you're there right when the parks DO open, and you'll still get sooooo much done before 10 or 11am. I've talked to so many people who come back complaining that the parks were "so busy" but then they admit they didn't get there until lunchtime each day, and left after dinner, so the only time they had to do stuff was during the busiest part of the day!

But as a faithful DISer, you know better! ;) Or I could just call you each morning at 7? :rotfl2:

Oh yeah - I know better! :) We'll probably make opening each morning - except for 2 - both 8:30 am bf, but I'll just excuse myself and grab FPs for Soarin and KS both times. :rotfl: My hands are pretty tied for the Princess Breakfast, Tusker, and Ohana - but the other days there is more flex built in.

Oh it sounds so nasty right now - I better get off the computer. :scared:

Oh, I'm in one of those moods! No reason at all, but I'm wound so tight I feel like I'm gonna snap!

I'm ticked at my computer if it slows down for even a second.
I'm ticked at Jeff for just telling me yesterday that he has to go to Baltimore on Wednesday - doesn't know if he gets back Friday or Saturday, and he's known for 2 months he's going, but just tells me yesterday.
I'm ticked because I just ate 1/2 a bag of peanut M&Ms (the big bag!).
I'm ticked cause Ally just did her homework so sloppy and I made her redo it.
I'm ticked at stupid customers who sound like they have a mouthful of marbles when they leave me voice mails.
I'm just ticked at the world today!!!!!!

Erin will be back soon I think. She did get stranded in Okie! BTW What's Okie??????

Hey all we are back, we were due home fri morning but the plane couldn't leave Oklahoma on thursday due to bad winds so we left there sat in the end yayayayya :cool1: it was fab having another full day and half with my friends .. we are now home .. jetlagged .. missing our friends :sad2:
I haven't really read back but i hope you guys are all ok and had a great Easter i will catch up and get back to you all hahahhahaha

Erin - glad you are home and sounds like you had a lovely time.

Kara - Poor Kara - I hate those days. :flower3:

Now I'm REALLY ticked! I just had a whole post that my puter lost!!! :headache:

Welcome back Erin - we missed you and we're ready to hear all about Okie!

Storms heading our way now - tornado watch til 7 but I have a feeling it will be extended. It's rumbling out there now, just in time for us to head to gymnastics!!!

We beat you by 1 hour! :lmao: Ours blew through, and a second round is coming.

Okay - question - just to tick you off -:rotfl2:

Is Kim Possible going to be over Nicolas' head? Would we be better off sticking with the masks & passports with them this trip? :confused3
