Oh boy do I wish we never heard of Hi- 5 , if I have to listen to
"One, Two, Three, Four... HI FIVE:cheer2:" one more time I will scream!!!!! - still it is innocent fun I suppose.

My 2 DDs (now 5 and 6) are moving into wanting to dance to disco music - Macarena and Y.M.C.A are the current favourites!!! I guess I'll have to give in and buy a dancemat - anyone got one? are they any good? - or do the kids play with it for a week then it goes in the cupboard like everything else??

Still no drinking water ... but we can drink boiled mains water now..... Sun sun sun at the minute - 28 deg - way too hot considering the past few weeks (we brits can complain about ANY kind of weather, it's the national sport...;))

Got to go entertain the little darlings....
Cheers,

Tessa
We have one, and they play with it quite a bit, actually we have 2, one is ballet and the other is "pop" dancing, but both are pretty popular with my girls.

:lmao: I am sure that all of us can relate!

We have Dance Dance Revolution (I think that's what it's called) for the PlayStation 2. The girls played with it quite a bit after they got it, but it has been put up for awhile. Hmmm...I need to remember to bring that out the next time they say, "Mom, I'm bored, and I don't have anything to do!". We as a family, and they with their friends, run around all of the time, that when we are home, they sometimes can't find things to do to entertain themselves and I have to help them think of things. They are quite good at the DDR, but me on the other hand...well, I always lose. My girls also love the karaoke machine. That stays out, so it gets played with more often.

I want to check out the Guitar Hero program. Maybe I'll be better at that... :rolleyes1

We don't have rain in our forecast for this week, either! That means it's getting HOT though. I guess we can't ever be totally happy with the weather. DD14 is going to a water park Friday, and I wanted to take the girls to one before school starts - 3 weeks from today. Uggh!:scared: It does start my favorite time of year, though - Fall. Then, Christmas!!! :santa: But there's WDW first.::MickeyMo

Bye ya'll!!:grouphug:

:goodvibes Hi Ladies,
I feel like I am out of the loop these days! We are back in town but then heading out later in the week back up north. After this weekend though we should be home until Labor Day week.

By the time I can get to the computer I am pooped:surfweb: ! Hopefully I
will catch up and type more when I am actually more alert!

 Shout out to all of you!!!

Pbharris (Pam ) How are you feeling? How's everything going?
TinkLvr (Maureen) :wave2:
DisneyOhana (Lisa) I will definitely let you know when we will head back to Rainbow Falls!
Magicfor2 (Tammie)We went to Atlantis for our honeymoon. We want to go back when the kids are both old enough to enjoy the water rides and aquatics!
Ahibird (keahi)
Sewer :wave2:
tttessa (tessa) Glad things are always getting better on your end. No Dance mat yet but my DD loves to dance!
Lovin Life ( Pam2) I did hear about the ticket prices going up! I hate that! I am still holding out for a code for my November trip. I am hoping VISA releases some kind of deal to apply to our dates. We are currently booked using triple A. No I am not on my laptop and my “I” on the keyboard miraculously started working again. :badpc: Strange!
2girlsmom (Kristy) Good to see you here again!:yay:

HI TidoubleGerrr
Welcome and happy belated birthday!
I better go back and read what I have missed! Once again I can barely keep my eyes open and it's only 8:00. I think I can sleep in tomorrow though. Yeah!

Hi, all! Its been a LONG time since I have been by, but wanted to drop in and see how things are going. We are $200 away from paying off the Disney trip, and getting ourselves psyched up for the school year. Last year in July an arsonist burned down the girls' school, and the board opted to send the students to classes at a school I wasn't crazy about, so we put the girls in a different school for the year/until we could find out the building plan for their old school. However they never developed really good friendships with the kids at the new school and both have really missed their old friends from the other school, so this year we are putting them back with their former classmates, even though the school building where they are attending is more urban than we are crazy about (they are doing a "school within a school", they start and end 10 minutes later and have their own teachers/classrooms etc, but share the lunch room and recess time with the other school's students). I am a little nervous about it, but I know how important it is to have the girls with the teachers/students that they know and have missed this past year. Also, they are rebuilding their old school and improving it, scheduled open is June 2008, but the builder is being offered incentives to complete early enough to get the kids back there for second semester, so I think it will be easier if they manage it to move the girls if they are already with their fellow classmates. Also in the past month, my fil was hospitalized with pneumonia, and my mil had a heart attack, all in one week! Its been pretty crazy around here, but we are holding together thus far...

What a dilema! I am sure you are doing everything just fine. Tough decisions I am sure! It sounds like it will all work out in the end. Good luck with it all!

Tammie...
Did I tell you congrats on that cute baby girl? If I didn't she is so cute and I love her nursery. I am glad she is feeling better too!!!

Lisa...Did I tell you I loved your pix! Great job posting them!

I love pix!

Pam2..I saw you have been doing great posting at the picture thread. Haven't been there in a while though. I'll have lots to see there I'm sure!

[Here's a Hi-5 link! Love them! Like you said Tessa..... Harmless!

I get to enjoy High School Musical over and over and over again!! What's sad is I think I'm more excited for number 2 to come out friday!!! :rotfl2:

We have Dance Dance Revolution (I think that's what it's called) for the PlayStation 2.

I want to check out the Guitar Hero program. Maybe I'll be better at that... :rolleyes1

I guess we can't ever be totally happy with the weather.
Pam2
We have a dance mat that plays some disco music that my dd7 adores. I have to admit, I think I like it more....we don't get it out often enough though...it is a lot of fun though and good exercise!!! :yay:
Guitar hero is fun, but hard and does get old very quickly.

You should move to Seattle, you'd fit right in with the weather complaints! :rotfl:

Hiya,

You should move to Seattle, you'd fit right in with the weather complaints!

I guess I should visit Seattle sometime - around a dozen people have said i would like it there!!!! Hubby is a software engineer - know of any big software companies over that way ?? :lmao:

I think we in the UK don't really understand the US layout that much, cos of our position we tend to think of the important bits of the US as being a pretty thin strip on the east coast - New York to Miami I guess.... Mind you, reading some other BBoards I think some Americans have that view too....

I'm going to go surf ebay now - we have a PS2 so am going to look for a dance mat for it!! If it's cheap I don't mind if they don't use it much -it can always go back on ebay when they are done with it....

Thanks for the Hi -5 link  I forgot how sickly sweet they are.... We are also just getting into the High School Musical stuff too - a bit behind over here DD(6) keeps singing (out of tune) "Soarin, Flyin, there's not a star in heaven that we can't REEEEEEECCCCCCHHHHHH" (After we persuaded her the first word was not BORING!!!)

Still no drinking water .... worst bit of that is we can't use the water for washing dishes without boiling it - so NO DISHWASHER aaarggghh - forgot what it was like!!

Cheers,
Tessa

Hi Everyone:)

I have been checking in and reading, but I haven't posted because my wireless internet was broken on my laptop. I was stuck using our other computer, which is missing quite a few keys-the baby had fun pulling them off one morning:sad2:

This is just a fly-by post, but I didn't want you to think I forgot about you. I hope to be back tonight after the kids go to bed. I have a vacation day today the kids went to my FIL's, so I have a lot of cleaning to do. I hope to do something for myself, too--maybe a pedicure!

Its sooo hot here and the AC in my car is broken so I am scared to venture out:scared: :scared: but a pedicure would be worth it!

Hi guys! Another crazy week. We had my mom's dog here one night because the AC is out in their house. She had two accidents, she has problems w/that lately. Then, DD had two accidents. Cleaning carpets and sofa cusions, fun, fun, fun. Now everything is calm.

Pam2 - I never want to wake my DH on the weekend because besides waking up early during the week, he also can't fall asleep until late.:confused3 You would think that he doesn't need the sleep but on the weekend he can sleep in until noon.

Debbie - We are going to a waterpark Friday, DH has off work. I am not sure if we will go to Magic Waters or Rainbow Falls. Thanks about the pics. DH put them on photobucket and it was simple doing the rest by myself.

Maureen - I have always wanted a pedicure. Someday:cloud9:

Tessa - I love DDR for PS2. It was good exercise. I haven't been on it since before my DD though. She keeps me busy. Glad things are looking better. No dishwasher, though:sad1:

TiDoubleGerrr - We are going to visit my DH's brother near Redmond at the end of the month. I forget the name of the town he is in. Where are the best places in or near Seattle to see?

Hi Kristi, Keahi, Sewer, Pam, Tammie. I hope I didn't forget anyone.

Hey people... No, I haven't fallen off the planet -- I'm still here. Thanks for all the shout outs !!! We had an awesome time on our Hawaii Island trip last month-- tried to check out the eruption at Kilauea but a lot of the area was closed due to recent activity. Felt a couple of small earthquakes, though -- crazy...

I've been reading the thread trying to catch up with everyone. With DS back in school (he started last week Monday -- 4th grade, already -- man, where does time go ??:rolleyes1), I'm hoping to get more time to DIS at home. I'm trying to cut back reading the boards at work. ;) I jump on the DIS to read one thread (like this one), and then I need to check on another thread, then another, and next thing I know 2 hours have passed :scared1: Trying to limit my time to lunch hour, and after work. (HA, if anyone checks the time on this posting, you'll see it almost 9:30 am -- so much for that :lmao: )

Hope everyone is well, and I'll check in later... Aloha -- keahi

Hi all!

Summer is winding down to an end. It goes by so fast! We've been swimmng, going to the movies, Dr. appts. (fun), play dates, going to the beach this weekend, etc. I have to try and get my youngest back to getting to bed earlier than 9:30pm. She's been taking her naps but waking up at 8:30am nap at 2pm and then bed at 9:30. We're going to have to move things back an hour and a half for pre school.

Went to see The Bourne Ultimatum this past weekend. It was just as good as the other two and it was good for the 3rd in a series but I wanted a little more from it especially if they do not make any more. It does leave you hanging. I'm taking the girls to see Underdog tomorrow. I used to watch that cartoon when I was a kid. The previews for Rudh Hour 3 look really funny. I never saw the other 2.

I start my Diabetes Classes tomorrow. It' sbeen about a month since I was diagnosed. The Dr. today said that I'm doing pretty good since it's only been a month and that it takes time for the blood sugar numbers to come down. It's not that bothersome, it's really just moderation. I am trying to figure what to eat or where at Disneyworld. My appetite has really gone down and I am not as tired anymore. I've lost about 10 lbs this past month w/o even trying.....now just need to work on the rest.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Pam

Pbharris (Pam ) Congrats on the weight loss! Glad things are looking better. I hope the class is worth your time and you find it helpful! I'm always thinking about you buddy! Glad you are enjoying the end to summer. It sounds like how things are going on my end!
TinkLvr (Maureen) Thanks for the fly by! I am so glad you still hang out here. I think we will all be able to post and read more in the Fall don't you think?
DisneyOhana (Lisa) Water park sounds fun! I am scheduling another Rainbow Falls day for Monday (August 13th) If you are interested.
Magicfor2 (Tammie)
Ahibird (keahi) So.... glad to hear from you! Glad you had fun at the big island! I think I mentioned we would be coming your way again in the future. Because of miles and such we try and plan out a year a head of time so maybe next February (2009)! Who knows though? Nothing planned yet! I know what you mean about the time limits on the computer. I have SO... much to do but I just want to chat with you guys and research for my trip!
Sewer All my buds are checking in! Yeah! It makes me happy to see the regulars! Hope you are enjoying summer!
tttessa (tessa)I am sending you drinking water pixie dust! I hope you get that dishwasher back. I would DIE without mine!
Lovin Life ( Pam2)Hi;)
2girlsmom (Kristy)I wonder how far of a drive you actually are from me. Have you ever visited our lovely town of Chicago?
TiDoubleGeerLOVE HSM!!!! Absolutely more than DD! I have a crush on that Zac. How sad is that!

2girlsmom (Kristy)I wonder how far of a drive you actually are from me. Have you ever visited our lovely town of Chicago?

In fact I used to live in the Chicago area as a child, we lived in Batavia. Council Bluffs is about 8 hours from Chicago, straight across I-80, in fact if you put in for Omaha, that is pretty much us, as Omaha is right across the MO river from CB. We've visited a time or two in adulthood, and of course got stuck in the airport too...;)

Just a fly by good bye.....
I'm back to Wisconsin tomorrow! WOW! It would be so great if I had a lap top and internet service up there in Mukwonago, WI. I could Diss on the Dis by the lake! Oh well...more to dream for.

Have a great few days everyone!!!!!! Whether you can check in a little or a lot, post or just lurk, it is SO GREAT to have you all here!!!!
Hope all is well.
 I love this friendly little thread!

TidoubleGerrr, Tessa and Debbie - I'm (I mean my DD's are) excited for HSM2 to come out. The songs are so catchy.

Debbie - Have fun in Wisconsin! I'm having fun with the POTD thread, and have posted a couple on the resort thread and the show me thread. I'd like to do more. I've been either tired or just not able to get on a computer until it's too late the last couple of nights. I have a photo class tomorrow night. I'm excited.

Tessa - Texas is important, too! Just kidding! Then you have California and Florida...I can't wait to visit England some day. I bet my daughter will have the chance before I will! That's OK. We'll get there some day. I've bought a few things on Ebay and have bid on a couple and won, but have never sold anything. It's fun to see what's out there. I think I would die without a dishwasher, but I guess we would just have to use paper products. Boy aren't we spoiled!

Maureen - I hope that you were able to get your pedicure! It's nice to treat yourself once in awhile! Our Walmart has a manicure and spa pedicure for $20. It's not that bad of a service for that amount.

Lisa - I hope that your craziness has slowed down a little bit! I am glad that you learned how to post the pics. I was shy about doing it at first, but once I got the hang of it, it's pretty easy and fun. Have fun at the water park!!

Keahi - I've seen the volcano on the news. That is so neat, but I think it would be so scary to be near it. Your kids start school early! We usually start around the second week of August, but this year we start late and get out later next summer. I know what you mean about the boards at work. I try to stay off of them but when it's slow, or I feel like a break, I hop on to read and TRY not to post. Well, I don't take smoke breaks!

Pam - So, you had fun on your date! I've tried to watch your Scott Baio show. I can't believe how full of himself he is. It cracks me up! I loved him when he was on Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi. It is definitely entertaining! Congrats on your doing so well with your new lifestyle changes.

Tammie - How are your grandbabies? How was your trip, and when is your trip that you won from work? Aren't you done w/work? Questions, questions, questions...Enquiring minds want to know!

Hi to everyone!! We're past hump day! and it's downhill until the weekend!:yay:

Goodnight!:grouphug:

:woohoo: YES!!! :woohoo:
:woohoo: WE HAVE CLEAN WATER!!!:woohoo:
The dishwasher is on as I type, and bed linen in the washing machine (couldn't stand the thought of "contaminated" water washing my bed sheets... yeeeukkkk)
The kids have been swimming - the pool can now top up with clean water and provide showers etc - so I have happy kids too.

Cheers to all!!!
Tessa

I was reading at lunch, and had to hop on to say CONGRATULATIONS to Tessa! I bet that you are so relieved. We are such a spoiled bunch of people, aren't we? I would be the biggest baby if I were without water for as long as you were. The things that we take for granted that people before us didn't have (like dishwashers!), and some people still don't have in underdeveloped countries. We are so blessed. Us here were complaining so much about all of the rain, which was keeping it cooler, and now everyone is complaining that it is too hot! Low 100's this week.:scared1:
I am so happy for you!!

My post posted twice last night! Does anyone know how I can delete one? I guess it doesn't matter too much...

Have a great day, everyone!

Just thinking, how's Yvette? Are you still around? I hope that you are doing well!:flower3:
