Hello and thank you for the reassurance I am not insane!

I am unusually neurotic about planning a trip to Disney.

I rehearse maps, fingerprint my kids and keep those fingerprints and updated pictures on me, pack and unpack then repack! Go through every piece of information I can find EVEN THOUGH I WORKED THERE! I mean you would think all that training I took was good for something!

I couldn't find the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and panicked! I hated the crowds, b/c I was nervous we would hit someone with our stroller! I am not a big proponent of taking valium but I think I needed it at the end of our last day at Disney! The major difference between our last trip and my previous trips is that it was our first time with our kids, and my DH first time back since he was a child. So I was playing Guest Relations big time.Paid off in that he wants to go back next year and loved it. But it took sooooo much energy to plan the trip that wouldn't be a let down! :scared:

I am planning now for next September and am already obsessing about DDP and BWV, schedule of events, and ADRs!! I know it is 13 months away I just can't sleep some nights!

Welcome Amy! Looks like you have come to the right place! :hippie: We have all checked and re-checked, packed and re-packed, and fussed about our ADRs! That is the bond we share :rotfl2: Please feel free to share your experiences with us - we are good listeners. :grouphug:

Pam2 - I did a digital scrapbook at the Disney Photopass site - loved the book! It does seem like it is missing embleshiments, though!

Tammy - This trip I want to try Photpass. I love all of your pics on your trippie! How great that you are in business for yourself! None of my good friends are into Arbonne, but some acquaintances are. I need to check it out! I bookmarked your website.

My DD has been a little stinker since coming home from Girl Scout camp a week ago...she suddenly is acting like a 14 year old in a 7 year olds body....threw a fit yesterday for 15 minutes because of her shoes.....they just weren't the right ones! OMG! :confused3

Kristen - Just wait until she is 14! :lmao:  It's complex is all that I have to say. It keeps life interesting! God must have thought I could handle it because I have 2 girls. I hope that things are going well w/your MIL visiting. You are in my prayers about your endometriosis. I have heard that is painful. Hang in there.

Jen - I hope that you are having fun in WDW!!! Wish I were there...Guess I missed getting into your suitcase.

Please, who wants to come over and help????!! :rotfl2:

Wish that I could!:flower3:

BTW My cmputer wn't type o's tday! What the heck is that all about! I have been cutting and pasting them in!:badpc:

Hey Debbie! I haven't been able to get onto my computer at a reasonable time lately. DH has started fantasy football, and that takes up a lot of computer time. The girls have been on the laptop, so it's been challenging getting computer time at home. I still try to keep away from the DIS at work. TRY. When it's quiet, it's hard.

Oh, this has been a big part of our lives lately, too. We have Verizon On Demand, so the girls saw HSM2 Wednesday night. It is very cute, and we liked it as much, if not better than the original. I should keep track of how many times they watch it, but that would be impossible. DD9 was supposed to go to a HSM2 party last night, but she ended up not going. We've bought HSM2 binders, folders, pens....Craziness!

We've also been busy w/back-to-school shopping. We start a week from tomorrow! I've taken a couple of digital photog classes at a local camera store. We've had church activities all summer, but dance starts up next week, and we've already had a band booster meeting. Girl Scouts starts up right after school starts, too. I love this time of year. From Labor Day until Christmas is my favorite!!

Have a super Sunday, everyone!! Hi to all! Hugs to all!!!!!:grouphug:

Thanks! :cool1:

I think part of the problem last time was renting a house off property. Cause to me that wasn't a vacation, just an extension of life here!

It was a savings, but I felt like I was missing the party!

This time we will be at Board Walk Villas and I am stressing between a good Illuminations view or staying near the elevator for my Grandma's sake. Anyway we can get a scooter available for her at the hotel???

This is one of the most amazing threads I have come across on DIS. I really thought I was going OCD (runs in the males of my family). MY house would be a mess and I would be on the phone with Disney 3 hours a day checking on an opening at Chef MIckeys. Thanks For The Welcome!

I'll Be Around Here Listening and Speaking Up!

:goodvibes Hello Ladies,
Well, the weather has been cold and rainy here in the Windy city. Well, cold to me. It’s around 65 and cloudy. People are happy it’s raining though cause I guess we need it. There was a cute fest going on by our house but now I don’t think we will be going. Swimming lessons end tomorrow but I will be signing DD up again. Poor DS he still is always getting ripped off of classes!
I have just been living like a vagabond. We will be home one day and then just pick up and go to Wisconsin if the weather looks good. We will be home now for a couple weeks though I think since I have some appointments scheduled and such.
My Mom who is my personal travel agent has been finalizing our November trip. They released the Visa codes and we went from the AAA room only to the package using the Visa code. My Mom said we save about 15%, which at GF is a lot of mullah!
Pbharris (Pam) How’s everything going? Have you gone in for any more tests to get updated results? I hope you are feeling OK and not over doing it. Thanks for being here when I need you!
TinkLvr (Maureen) I am so glad you still check in here. How's your work schedule these days? The kids? Any new Gymboree outfits? I have been behaving.
DisneyOhana (Lisa) Hi Lisa, not looking good for the water park next week. I think it will either be chilly or rainy. We will have to see. Hope you are feeling OK.
Magicfor2 (Tammie) I think you run around going back and forth to the lake as much as we do! Glad you are doing well and that work is going good. Hope your whole family is doing great, babies and all!
tttessa (tessa) I know I have been MIA but now I see you have been too. I hope I just missed reading about you being out of town and nothing is wrong. Are you on that London trip or did that already happen?
Lovin Life ( Pam2) My DH plays on-line poker so I will lose the computer to him for that. My Dad just shared his extra laptop with us though since he got a new one so now we do have two. I just decided to hold off on a new laptop for now. Are you still posting on the POTD thread? I haven't been there in awhile.
MamaJen I hope your trip is going great and I can’t wait to hear about it. I hope you come back to our thread!
TiDoubleGerrHappy belated Anniversary. Hope your MIL visit is going well. Sorry to hear about your troubles but again please PM me if you need too. I went through all of that yucky stuff!
amyhughes Sorry, I haven’t given you a proper welcome yet so  WELCOME:banana: ! You have definitely come to the right place. We are friendly bunch here with all different degrees of worrying or controlling or craziness!
People do come and go and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with what everyone is up to but please feel free to join in anytime and ask anything you want!

Shout out to my other buddies from here..........

Oh.... I forgot to mention that we were at the Wiggle's concert last night! It was tons of fun!!! DS thought it was the greatest. It was his first concert! He is 22 months now. DD4 loved it too but she's spoiled and goes to everything!

Next show......Playhouse Disney Live!

amyhuges, I didn't give you a proper welcome, so :welcome: to our wonderful little thread! I don't know about scooters, but am also curious to know, just in case my mom, who is traveling w/us in Nov, needs one. She has been having trouble w/one of her feet and I am afraid the walking is going to be too much for her. My bet is that they have them, but we do need to ask.

Debbie - Congrats on the codes. I need to see if they are offering any codes, even if it is for the value resorts. More spending money! It sounds like you all have so much fun! I am jealous of your weather. 65 IS cold for this time of year, as far as I am concerned! We have almost 100, but it is so terribly humid.

We are watching HSM2 for about 6th time since Wed. I think I know it by heart!!

'night all! :grouphug:

Hello to you too! My grandma says they have them for all day rental for $35 a day and are available through guest realtions or the front desk. Especially good if you are at CBR, BWV (one elevator for all those rooms!) the Poly, or anything where you don't need Special Accommadations but the walking would be a factor. My G-Ma has horrible arthritis in her knees. She is great in short distances but not the 43 sq miles that is the world!

Debbie~ Hi and thank you for your welcome as well! Thanks for starting this! Now I can worry you all with the details no DH. If I talk too much about it, he threatens to pull the plug on the whole darn trip. He just gets worn out!!

You're welcome! I'm glad you found us! My DH just sits back and goes along for the ride. My Mom and I do all the planning and stressing (mainly my Mom though).

Thanks! :cool1:

Amy, it will be great to stay on property! As for the view - how much will you be in your room? I know you can rent scooters - your concierge should be able to help you. I'll start a thread for you and see who answers!

Thanks! I think we will have 3 adults and 2 children in a 2 Bedroom Villa at the Boardwalk. I am renting the points from a DVC member this time around. DH and I are weighing our options about jumping in and want to see what the DVC has to offer before we purchase points. Always been a dream of mine to buy DVC points and be able to take the kids there every year, then the grandkids after that.

My Grandmother is probably going. She is saying yes, as long as nothing happens. So I am counting on her going at this point. And she said as long as she has a scooter we can be as far away from the elevator as we would like! She really wants to be able to see fireworks from the balcony

Welcome, Amy! - Ever since we stayed at the Yacht Club when it opened, I have wanted to get a room w/a view of Illuminations again. It was so nice sitting on the balcony, relaxing, watching the show without the crowds. My DH can't see spending $450 a night for that view, he doesn't even want to spend $350 a night just to stay at that hotel. We don't usually spend that much time at our hotel so I do understand him a little. Good luck w/your planning. I love that part of the vacation, even if I do go crazy.

Kristin - I hope all goes well w/the tests. If it is endometriosis then I can see where you have so much pain. Hang in there.

Debbie - I didn't think it looked like that great of a week either. That's okay, I know we will get together sometime. I would like to take the train to the city some time this fall. I would probably go w/my sister and her kids so if you would like to meet up there that would be fun, too.

Maureen, Pam, Pam2, Keahi, Yvette, Tessa, Tammie, Sewer, Jen - Hope you're all doing well.

We will be in our room a bit more than average. My DH gets nervous in crowds, so we usually leave around lunch time then come back in the evening. Go back to the hotel let the kids swim nap, NAP ourselves. Get everybody up dressed, fed, then back out. My DGM has offered to watch the kids for us a couple nights so that I can show DH the World without having to push a stroller! We never got a honeymoon and will be celebrating 6 years together when we arrive. So, I think just one night is what we will take! I think I would feel guilty any more nights than that!;)

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome! Hope to chat some more but the kids are watching DUMBO (talk about Synergy!) and they want me to hold them during the Baby Mine number!

Amy - you need to enjoy your one night with your hubby! We all deserve that once in awhile, and I believe that it is so important! Don't feel guilty.

Debbie - I love the HSM thread! Even my DH enjoyed the movie. We think the plot was just as good as the first, and the songs and dance were better than the first. We do love the first one too though! They're just such cute, feel good, happy ending movies! The marketing is HUGE. DD9 got HSM2 binder, folders, pencils, pencil case, and now wants HSM/HSM2 bedding. I have to Google it to see if it exists!

'night all!:grouphug:

Now that is just precious! :cutie: Glad your DGM is going - and enjoy that night out! It is just as important to take some time away from the kids as to spend the time with them KWIM? ;)
