I am fighting the urge to go to Gymboree online and buy, buy, buy. My DD already has too many clothes, but there are some great prices and it's gymbucks time too!

I almost do not want to go to Disneyworld, because it means that I also have to come back. Is that stupid?

Oh it's sad all right but I hear ya. The sad thing is that the only cure I have found for that is knowing the next time you will go back while you are there. Does that sound crazy???

OT
My DH's heart went into AFib again last week and now his Dr is talking surgery. First he wants to switch his meds which scares the bajesus (How's that for a spelling) out of me and then we will see.

Also, I had to get My DH a ticket using miles to go to San Diego in September and wasted most of my day on line or on the phone dealing with incompetence! OMG I had steam coming out of my ears! They were awful!

Lastly, Lap top suggestions. I want one!

Nope it's not crazy. Sorry to hear about your Dh's heart. Why does it do that? Is it a hereditary thing? My gosh..I remember you talking about it before. I would be totally scared all the time. Maybe the surgery will be a good thing? Keep us posted.

DD and I got our Crocs today. (I'm new to the Croc scene.) I got her the Cotton Candy Pink ones. How cute! SHe LOVES them and refuses to take them off. I got a pair of celery colored ones and now that I have the right size, I want more!

I was posting a few pics and thought I'd throw one or two in here. One is of me and my youngest getting ready to bake. Yep..that chubby old me on the left. The apron my DD is wearing...I wore when I was her age as did my 8 and 9 yr old sisters! That apron must be about 41 yrs old! Honestly! The other photo is of our new puppy Starbucks. He's almost 4 months old. That picture was when he was like a month and a half old. I need newer pics of him.

DH suggests for a laptop...HP and IBM..he says they will last and they both make really good hardware. He's in the IT and also worked for a Computer harware maintainence company for 10 years. He said Sonys are good, but they are hard to get repaired. HTH

Thanks Pam!
Your pix are so..... cute!!!!!
Debbie

Here's another couple form our trip....

This seems like fun! I sometimes need to fight for computer time at our house. My husband irons his shirt for work in the evenings, and plays online poker in between starch settings. I have told him for years that he could take his shirts to the cleaners, but he really loves it, and I think it's an excuse to be on the pc!

Pam, you look like you have fun with your daughter, and that is so neat about the apron. I am very sentimental. I just picked up my wedding dress from my mom's this weekend, after 17 years, and have decided that I am not going to have it preserved after all of this time. My daughters will probably not want to wear it anyway. I am going to have my mother-in-law make a couple of small keepsakes for the girls to carry with their boquets on their wedding day (hopefully), and something for me. My husband's grandma made the dress, and did the beading by hand. Your puppy is adorable, and I love the name Starbucks. What a cute idea for a name. Your DW trip is so close! I am a mess the week before our DW trips! I cannot think of anything else. It's bad now, and we're at 150 days. It only gets worse as we get closer. If I'm busy, I don't obsess as much, but in my downtime, it's all I can think about. We do think about the next trip before we even leave DW. Then, we start saving...Where are you staying? I don't know the acronyms yet, and I haven't read thru the entire post. Have fun! We've stayed at the Grosvenor before, and ASMo and Pop. That's where we're staying in November.

Debbie, I hope that your husband's new medicine works well for him. That has got to be scary. I don't know you yet, but I will add Debbie's husband to my prayer list. I feel so very blessed, and feel that the power of prayer is strong. Good luck w/your laptop search. I keep thinking that is something I want to do in our one pc home, but I would have to get two (for each daughter), and I don't think that's going to happen! We use Dells at my office, and I've never had a problem with mine. I just had to trade it in for a new one because mine went off lease, but there wasn't a thing wrong with it after 4 years. With the Verizon wireless, it was fast. Thanks for the offer of help w/posting. I may take you up on that!

Have a good evening all! Tomorrow is hump day! It's only down hill to the weekend! :woohoo:

Hiya all,
Debbie - summer over here (UK for those who have just joined...) is usually wet, and it is living up to that today - about 18 deg C and wet and a bit windy - typical really. Oh, the sun just came out - and it's still raining!!
We tend to get nice springtime and sometimes nice autumn (fall) weather here, but summer can be 50/50 hot + nice or wet and dismal.
Hope the new meds work OK, fingers crossed. And laptops - I swear by HP they really are the most reliable - I've been involved in computing (BC - Before Children) since punch card days (at school - when I was 12 -just before the commodore pet!!! - someone must remember those pre PC days) and I find the HP stuff (printers included) to be the most reliable - not necessarily the BEST for functionality, but depends on what you want really.

Hi and welcome to Lovin Life - (I'm still a bit of a newbie myself - everyone here is great!!) - I laughed out loud at the end of your last post - I think maybe a language difference - "hump day" would mean something TOTALLY different!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:(a bit early to be telling us about your love life if you know what I mean!!) Language is a wonderful thing.
I am an obsessive planner too - so much so that my DH thinks that wonderful holidays just "happen" sometimes -maybe I should let him organise the next one - except I just couldn't take the stress of doing nothing and trusting to chance -hey ho...

Generally.... My DD has made friends with her rival for the affections of her best friend - not great friends, but enough to feel included, not excluded now - so now that crisis has been navigated, we are on to just general pre summer grumpiness
They start "reception year" of school at the age of 4 here (she's 5 next month and has been at school since last September) and the little ones get SOOOOOOOOO tired by the end of term that dealing with their feelings becomes a real minefield. (She was talking in her sleep the other day saying "HAMA bead hearts have to have a pattern or they just look silly" -I have Nooooo idea where that was coming from.... :confused3)

Bye for now - got to go do ironing - I hate ironing.....

Tessa

Well, I am about half way thru skimming thru all of the replies on this thread. It just seems like a fun place to be and you all seem like such a nice group of people! I am curious to see who still keeps in touch. I've been looking for something like this, and am so excited that I've found it! I have an awful memory, and will probably be one who repeats herself, and has trouble keeping up w/who's who -- I am horrible at remembering names until I say them a couple of times. Tessa - what's a love life? Just kidding! I use the term "hump day" quite a lot, I just love it when it's approaching the weekend. Who doesn't? I work full time, and have a pretty long commute to/from work, and we just always seem to be busy, taking kids to dance, church events, Girl Scouts, band, cheerleading...it's endless. It seems like as our kids are getting older, the activities keep getting to be more and more. Now I know what they mean by "Mom's Taxi Service"! I do love it though, and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Both of my kids are going to be gone next week, so my hubby and I are going to be kidless! I am so looking forward to a quiet, relaxing week, and some quality time w/my husband. One is going to camp for the week, and the other is staying with my MIL (I have figured that MIL is mother-in-law, although I will struggle w/the acronyms for awhile! I know DH is husband, DD is daughter, but WHAT DOES THE D MEAN? dear or Disney or neither?). Who am I kidding? I will miss them terribly! The first day or two will be heavenly, and then I will be ready to get them home!!

I want to say so much, but I need to read thru the rest of the post before I feel like I can really "belong" here!

Kids are in bed, hubby is wondering what I am doing up so late -- most week nights I am not up this late! I have to tell you all something funny! My hubby just got in bed next to me (I'm typing on my laptop) and said, "Aren’t you going to give me some lovins?". I said "Sure", and leaned over to kiss him goodnight, and found that he was talking to the DOG! LOL! I said, "Oh, I thought you were talking to me!". He said, "Oh, I didn't think you were available." Poor guy. Hee, hee! :rotfl: Goodnight all!

Hiya,

I always like think the D means Darling.... my darling husband, darling daughters etc... spread a little love + tenderness....

Tessa

Thanks! OK then. I have a DH, DD-14 in July!, and DD-9 (but will be an ADULT when we are in DW in Nov!) They are all DARLING! TGTF! (Thank goodness tomorrow is FRIDAY!):yay:

D can also mean Dear..Dear Husband, Dear Daughter, etc.

Lovin Life...cute story about your DH! Please don't feel like you have to "belong" here. Everyone and anyone are welcome in this thread. It's not a "clique." Just jump in and have fun and get to know everyone. :)

My DD last year my older turned 10 (an adult) and my younger DD turned 3 so we got hit with having to pay adult prices for the older one and then paying for the 3 yo when she was free the year before. But we have a few years until she becomes "an adult."

Hope you are all enjoying your summer!

Pam

:dance3: PAM.....:cool1: OMG 2 Days now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you stand it! I want to join you!

Ditto on what they said.....Lovin Life...just jump right in. We are very happy to have you.

:rolleyes1 Gotta get stuff done for a change......:laundy: :sad2:

Oh and HERE some people even say the D is for Disney!
BTW (By The Way)....did you know there is an abbreviations page you can print out and have by you. I still use it sometimes!

http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm

:goodvibes Welcome Lovin Life! We would love to have you visit with us:love: . I always think of this bunch as high tech pen pals! We can be here for ya if you need us too. We all get along so great and it's a very comfortable place to talk about Disney and everything else (Gymboree, Crocs, Ebay, Sales, Schools). Please stick around and give it a try! BTW I am going in November too! November 9th to like the 17th but it's not etched in stone yet. Also, PM me and I can teach you how to do stuff like posting pix or getting a ticker! I self taught myself when I joined the DIS from the help of other fellow Disers.
Nice to meet you!

Pbharris (Pam ).....OMG!!!!!!!!!! You are leaving so soon! So super cool!!!!!! It will be so awesome!!!! I can't wait for your TR with pix!

TinkLvr (Maureen) How's life? Work? Kids? Did you go earn some more Gymbucks?:rotfl2:

hannahsmomma (Jaclyn) Are you all weaned out? I hope you are still with us!
Magicfor2 (Tammie)Are you having the Disney Doggie Downers yet? It stinks when your ticker says "since" don't ya think. I hope all is better on the family front. How is DIL?

Sewer Have you ditched us for Margaritaville???
tea4sanity (Joanne)Hi!
2girlsmom (Kristy)How are ya?
tttessa (tessa) What's the weather like by you? Is your summer like our summer? I hope your DD is doing good now with the whole BFF situation.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!:cool2:

Nope I'm still here! Lurking around a bit though, love your pictures they looked wonderful.

Oh! I have just finished skimming thru all of the pages in this thread! :surfweb: My DH is chomping at the bits to get on the PC and play his online poker (for fun, not $ of course!) and iron his shirt.

I want to say something to everyone! I feel like I know all of you! I had to write down some names, and I printed the abbreviations list. Thanks, Debbie! You also take great pictures! I can see how this place can become an addiction/obsession! I feel welcome here, and can totally relate to all of you! You all seem great!

Pam, my proper name is Pamela, but I actually go by Pam. My DH is really the only one that ever calls me Pamela. Maybe I can be Pam2?

I hope to log on later, but I am being gently nudged off the pc, and my younger DD asked me to play a game with her. TTYL!

:wave2: Wanted to give a shout out to SEWER!!! How have you been?!!! Glad you still check in!

:wave2: And another shout out to keahi (did I spell that right?), Lisa, Maureen, Tammie, Jaclyn, Tessa, Debbie, I know I am forgetting a few...please forgive me...my mind is in Disneyworld right now, but my body is in Va.

I got McKenna's cake ordered at the Poly. The Disney Princess Tea thing reserved, all the ADRs, etc. All that's left to do is get her a Princess Dress, Do online check in (hopefully DH's common name is no longer on the no fly list, but I am sure it is), and drop the dogs off at my MILs! :cloud9:

I'm taking the digital camera, but plan on using the digital camcorder most of the time. We have soooooo many pictures of WDW that I'd like some DVD footage too.

Pam2: Pam2 is fine with me, if it's fine with you. I meant to tell you that I didn't save my wedding dress. I loved my wedding dress, but I sold it before I even had any girls. I got 3/4 of what I paid for it (not too bad) and I am sure my girls would probably want something new. You have a good idea about making something sentimental with it though!

I have my Nana's Hankies (unused ones, of course)..I guess they were "in" at some point way back when. Well, I never knew my Nana-all my grandparents were gone by the time I was born). I had my MIL make a quilt using the hankies (the hankies are very pretty-with embellishments, or lace, or whatever). The quilt turned out really nice. I have some more and she'll make me 2 more quilts, one for each DD. Let's see if I have a picture of the quilt. The quilt she made for me was baskets and then the corners of the hankies were inside the baskets.
101_0031_0001.jpg

She made rosettes and also just some of the hankie coming out of the basket.

Good night all. Need to rest up!

Pam

Hi everyone, I'm still here, lurking about.

Debbie -- I love, love, love the pictures !!! I finally got to see them today. (My computer at home is not cooperating these days, and my office blocks streaming media - that includes photobucket - during business hours. So, today I stayed late to check out everyone's pics !!) Reading your trip report has gotten me excited about our trip in Oct !!! And, here's lots of PD pixiedust: for your DH -- hope the change in meds helps and no need for surgery. I'll say a couple of prayers for you guys, too. :flower3:

Pam -- you and your daughter are so cute !! Your puppy is adorable, too. Wow, two days to go -- you're practically THERE. Hope you all have an awesome time !!! :cool1:

Lovin Life (or Pam2) -- :welcome:

Sewer -- glad you're still lurking around....

Maureen -- I saw that AP rates are out until the end of Sept. (9/29 to be exact) - still hoping for something in Oct !!! :cheer2:

Hi to Tessa, Tammie, Lisa, Jaclyn, and everyone else I may have forgotten. Hope you're all having a great summer !!! :sunny:

Aloha -- keahi

What a wonderful quilt!
I hope to talk to you before you go but if not you KNOW I'll be thinking of you!
BTW I just bought a great DVD that someone made on their own of WDW and I love it! She recorded everything and I won it for $9.00.

You are the bomb for reading all that! You must be a "reader" and I can tell by your posts that you type too. I always can tell who knows how to type by there posts. I don't know how to type so it is always much harder for me to express myself. Maybe you guys should be glad though because I would probably go on and on even more!

Glad you are joining us!

I want to give a shout out to all of you. Forgive me if I miss anyone.

Pam – Your quilt is beautiful, and how special! I just love stuff like that! How special that you will have one to give to each of your girls. Thanks for sharing! I am so jealous that you only have 2 days until your trip! I cannot imagine a 10-day vacation. LUCKY YOU!! Enjoy!

Debbie – Welcome to the 40 club! I will be 42 in Dec. It’s not that bad. Just kidding. 40 is the new 30. Is that right? My grandma is 93, and I am going to grow up to be just like her, so we are NOT middle aged yet!

Maureen – You must be a saint to have 3 little ones and work! Mine were 4 ½ yrs. apart. You all crack me up about the Gymboree thing. Those days seem like yesterday to me. Now it’s American Eagle, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hollister…just wait!

Lisa – you and Debbie are in the Chicago area? My grandma and other relatives are in Round Lake. Last time we visited, we went to the American Girl Place. Fun!

Keahi – How great to live in Hawaii! My dad was stationed in Honolulu, and my sister was born there. My mom would go back in heartbeat. I don’t remember anything about it. I was 4 when we left.

Tessa – I loved reading about your daughter’s friend story. I too, have a sensitive one, my youngest. She’ll come home and tell me that she has to find a new friend, that so-and-so has found someone else to play with. I ask her why everyone cannot just play together? She gets her feelings hurt so bad and easily, and it breaks my heart. You just wish that you could be by their side 24/7 to protect them. Kids can be mean. I keep hoping that she will toughen up, but that is what makes her so sweet, and is a big part of why we love her so.

Sewer – Do you sew? I wish I did. I have a machine and I try. I took classes w/my older DD, and she kicked my butt. I made 2 tote bags, and she progressed to the pj bottoms after the first tote bag. She has gotten much guidance from my MIL, and they are going to sew when she stays at her house for a week later in the summer. I do love to crochet, but I prefer smaller projects – in everything that I do, so I can see a finished product. If you don’t sew, this is silly! Do you??

A shout out to:
hannahsmomma (Jaclyn)
tea4sanity (Joanne)
2girlsmom (Kristy)
magic42 (Tammie)
and anyone else that I have left off. I am looking forward to “meeting all of you!”. I need to experiment a little bit and use the quotes. Very cool…

OK, I am fessing up -- things that I do worry about – my kids, of course!, my sister finding her happiness in life, not growing old to see my daughters become grandmas (it is one of my daily prayers), my parents’ and in-laws’ health deteriorating, and us losing them one day. I think that is basically it. I just TRY not to worry a lot about things that are beyond my control, and I know that these things are, but they are things that I think about a lot. I come from a long line of worriers, and I don’t like to see what it does to people. It can tear you up inside and ruin the greatness of the day, if you let it. OK, I am a bit worried about going to DW in November with my mom, dad and sister. Our first and second family trips to DW were just the 4 of us, our third was with my in-laws, and this one coming up is with my family. I know we’ll have fun with them, and I can’t wait to see my kids enjoy DW with their grandparents. My mom is a sentimental fool like me, and will cry at EVERYTHING there. I just boo hoo at MK park opening, and everything from there on – walking down Main Street towards the castle, It’s a Small World, Spectromagic….I am the one that asked them to join us for this trip. I just feel like I need to please everyone when we travel with “others”. I am one that, if my kids want to spend 2 hours in a gift shop, I will do it. We are in the parks for 6 days, and have plenty of time to do what we want to do. It’s their trip. For us, it’s all about the kids. My parents are wonderful, but aren’t as patient as I am, although they are wonderful grandparents. Also, my sister doesn’t have kids, and declares that she doesn’t like any kids, except for mine. I think that this trip will drive her crazy. She was most concerned that there is a bar at POP. There is! I know that most of what she says is just talk, but I hope that she has a great trip. I just love DW so much, and hope that the others will enjoy it as much as I do. Lastly, my mom has been having trouble with her foot, she had some kind of fracture, and has had to wear a boot and keep off it as much as possible, and I am hoping that she will be able to do all of the walking that we do. I told her that I would push her in a wheelchair, if need be, or at least they could go back to the hotel and rest, or people watch on a bench, and we would catch up with each other later. I just want this to be the perfect trip for them, and for us. I know that it will all work out. Part of me just likes it better when it’s just the 4 of us. I am so excited!!!

As for venting, I am very good at that! Right now, there isn’t anything that I need to vent about (I guess that’s a good thing!), but you bet I’ll be there one of these days soon, and I feel comfortable that I can do it here!

Sorry about the long posts! You all just make me feel like I want to spill!

‘night all!

Pam2
