Hello everyone! Hope the summer is off to a great start for all of you. I finally got to take a breather. School is now out and no more kids to watch until the fall. Now that all that is done I can focus on our trip to Disney.

One of the things I really want to fo this year is get a caricture done. One of my 2 girls together and then one of my DH in a Dallas Cowboy uniform and me in a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. lol It'll look cute in our study.

I hope is isn't too hot and we have a safe flight. I hate to fly!

Our summer is off to a good start! We went to the beach (Ocean City, NJ) on Wednesday for DD's b-day. We had a great time. The weather was perfect...about 75 with an ocean breeze. I did a great job with sunscreening the kids, but I missed big areas on myself. I wound up with quite a bad sunburn on the sides of my neck and around my chest. Ouch

I got some great news yesterday. My SIL is pregnant! I was just telling my sister that we needed a new baby in the family and I got my wish. I hope she has a girl because I have so many cute Gymboree clothes and I need someone to pass them onto.

I do have one vent. We were invited to a christening for DH's friend's son. It is on Father's Day, which I thought was strange, and the invite was only addressed to DH and I. I told DH to check and see if the kids are invited. Guess what...they aren't. Obviously, we aren't going to go. I don't understand how anyone would expect a father to spend Father's Day away from his kids to go to a christening.

Is anyone else a Soprano's fan? I can't wait to see the last show tomorow, but I will so sad that it is the last show ever.

Pam, I don't think I can talk to you anymore. I had no idea you were a Cowboy's fan .

Glad everyone's doing well. DD had a blood test done this week because she is still low weight. I told the doctor that she is a picky eater and I was also low weight as a child. They did the same test for me when I was around her age and nothing was wrong. She screamed and wriggled the whole time. They stuck her w/the needle 3 times. The first time she moved too much, second time the nurse couldn't get the blood fast and the third time they got a new nurse who did great and was way quicker than the first nurse. I haven't heard from the doctor's office yet so she is probably fine.

Lisa....I hope everything goes ok on the test. What were they testing her for..anemia? Bless her heart....nobody likes to get there blood taken and especially not from a person who can't do it right! Keep us posted.

Maureen..you WERE justing saying the other day (on here too) about your baby growing up and how you missed having babies around. Then you SIL is pregnant...you must have know in the back of your mind that she was pregnant. Funny how things happen sometimes.

Sounds like you all had a great time at the beach! Sounds like you still have mild weather in Jersey. It was 100 here the other day. My youngest has only seen the beach for a few minutes at dusk at Hilton Head on our way back last year from WDW. We may take a day trip to Vero Beach and the facilities at Disney DVC resort there since we're DVC members or we'll take a 3 day weekend to either Ocean City, MD, VA Beach or Nags Head. I just have to figure out what to do with my dogs. I can kennel Chloe she's 6.5 yo, but Starbucks is only 12 weeks and I think I may have to wait a few months.


I agree on the christening. Not inviting the family....is very weird. I've only heard of that at weddings and personally, I don't think it's right. JMO. If they are christening their child why can't you bring your own? I just don't get that. Father's Day..I can understand them wanting to christen their child on Father's Day, but it's very selfish to expect people to leave THEIR children with a sitter. I'd be offended.

My DH is the Cowboy Fan. He's liked them since he was a very little boy. Me...I can't say I have a favorite, but being from PA I would LOVE to the Eagles win a stinking Superbowl!

Pam - Thanks. I haven't heard back yet. They did six different tests and a urinalysis. I have never seen DD so sad and frightened. It was awful. I will probably call the doc's office tomorrow. My sister is getting married Sat. and I have been so busy lately.
I can't wait to take DD to the beach, the real beach that is. Discovery Cove was awesome and DD loved the man made beach there. You guys will have a great time I'm sure.
Does anybody know where Debbie and Tammie are? Didn't Debbie get back a few days ago? Probably busy getting back to reality I guess.

Hi Lisa - I hope the test results come back good!

My eldest DD had to have blood taken 2 years ago when she was 4 - and BOY did she hate it too - she made a picture book afterwards with a picture of her pushing a doctor off the top of the hospital roof - cos she "did not like that man" - still everything turned out OK in the end (and the test meant she got the right treatment!! but try telling a little one that!)
Lets hope the homicidal tendencies lessen through the years!!!!

Hi to my best dis buddies..I am back in town, got back yesterday…. old but tan and happy !
(I know when your old you shouldn’t be getting tan anymore, right! )
The trip was a GREAT time! I loved being in Disney World for my birthday. It was perfect…Mickey Mouse birthday cake in the castle and all! It was a blast! I will definitely give you more details when I upload my pix! can't wait to share with you guys!
Naples was beautiful. So….sunny! The kids loved the beach and pool at their constant disposal. Elizabeth is a fish! I always forget how strong that tropical sun is. We went through the sunscreen like you can’t even imagine and that sun still got through!
Today will be rough but then I am sure we will get back into the swing of things. At least we gained an hour coming home. That helped a little.
So far 40 doesn't feel too bad.....

Lisa, I hope everything goes well with your DD !

I need to make a list. I need to start to pack some! I can't wait to go now!!! I just want to sleep in everyday (except EMH day) and swim and shop and hang out and do whatever. I found out how much my DD11 loves Disney today. She really wants an inground pool (as do I, but..)I told her the only way we can get an inground pool is if we were to sell our DVC points and we couldn't go to WDW every year. She said "Forget the pool. I want to go to Disney every year!" We are really close to getting our 75pt add on at BCV. The guide said we are on the next rotation of points. So next time a June Use Year comes up we should get our points. Yeah!!!

Well, half of the blood tests came back and are fine. I really think it is her picky eating. I have to cook three things sometimes and she won't eat any of them. She wants to drink coke and I am only letting her drink a little. I should have never had it in the house. Anyways...
Debbie - Glad you're back. I thought you were only going for four days. I don't know where my mind is lately. I am so glad your birthday was fun. Can't wait to see pics. I still have to get mine up on here. My dd loves to swim lately too. She wants to swim in the deep water, while I hold her of course. I always thought that I should have been born a fish. I love swimming.
Tessa - Sorry your dd went through that, too. It shows what emotional torture they put you through if someone good isn't taking the blood. At least she is OK now.

For the frist week off school my DD has had several sleepovers (here and her different friends' houses) another one tomorrow and then her friends grandparents are taking her and her friend to Nags Head, NC for the weekend. So much for relaxing after school let out!

Maureen, have you checked Southwest and have you Download their DING! feature? I got my airfare for the 4 of us for $315.50 roundtrip. It's a non stop flight as well. They were celebrating DING's 2 yr anniversary so fare were $29 plus tax. I think DING's come out close to two months ahead of when you want to go so keep a look out.

Haven't seen Rescue Me. I'm a big fan of Nip/Tuck (even if it is a tad raunchy) but it has excellent writing. I have heard they moved it from summer to the fall line up.

Grey's Anatomy note..they canned Isiah Washington (Dr. Burke).

I have to run...my girls are arguing over something again.

I am beat! Wow! It has been nonstop since I got home and I am tired!
I have started to finally upload all my pix. Geez it takes a lot of time.. What a great couple of days in WDW! I will be back with a full mini TR when I have time to sit and type. I have decided I am going to get a laptop so I can bring my computer outside. I have been so busy! I feel like I was gone for a month but already feel like I have been back for a month! It’s crazy!
To be honest 40 is fine. Not bothering me at all but I guess it's cause I am in a happy place in my life right now. I am a very like girl!

Rescue Me is one of our favorite shows. Sometimes it makes me a little too nervous though. I still can't stop watching.

Pam - I know what you mean. Ever since WDW I have been trying to find fun things for us to do. DD wants to swim so we've been to the pool, taken the pool out in back, which took an hour to blow up, and gone to the Dairy Queen and the park a few times. In the winter we seem to be more relaxed even if we get a little bored being indoors all the time.

Debbie - Great pic. I miss being there so much.

Hiya PALS!
I finally put together my mini TR. I hope you guys don't care it's kind of long. They just told me I have to limit my images so that will spare you! Oh not to worry...I will just post in two parts! I will be in Wisconsin for the weekend but will be back on Monday!

My 40th Birthday at WDW​

My trip began with a drive to WDW from Naples Florida. It took about 3 hours but was fine. The love bugs were pretty gross but heck we have cicadas! The kids were great and I was just so excited to be going to Disney that the time flew by!

We arrived at AKL, which was my first stay at this resort, and the place is just so… cool.

With all the rumors of construction we did have some concerns and unfortunately we had to ask for new rooms after we looked out and saw we had a view of it.

They said it was because we wanted rooms together and after we told them that our rooms didn’t have to be right next to each other they switched us to a couple of great rooms!

The kids loved the animals!!!!

Infamous people pens were outside our balcony…

It is so neat to have animals from the Savannah right off your balcony!
Of course the kids went bonkers over this.

After settling in a bit we hit the pool for the afternoon. It was a ton of fun! I made sure to treat my Mom and I to a delicious pina colada!

Unfortunately there was an unexpected immediate pool closure. Bummer! Try explaining this one to the kids!

We were pooped (no pun intended!) out after our AKL day of fun and pretty much ate, walked around and hit the hay in the evening.

Now onto my MK 40th birthday marathon 12 hour day!
We began the day heading out on the WDW bus and it was a quick, uneventful pleasant trip. The bus was there when we got there and then went straight to the MK!

My Mom surprised me with ADR at CP. Breakfast was yummy and a ton of fun.

We made our way towards Adventureland so we could begin our day with a little POTC followed by HM. It was very exciting being there the day before they were closing HM for major refurbishments and knowing we would be back in the fall to see all the changes.

Of course we had to stop for a Dole Whip break. YUMMY!

I do have to say though I miss the Orange Tropicana treat but they have gone from real orange juice to something else and I swear it’s different.


Afterwards DD got to ride Aladdin’s Magic Carpet and then met Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie1 What a great group!!!! Aladdin was a hoot! Thank goodness I had my camcorder ready. Very fun! I am going to post a thank you to them and see if he’s actually out there because I just loved him!
