Hi Ladies!! Glad to see a lot of you visiting!

Welcome back Lisa!! You know we are gonna need a bigger TR then that!!! I can't wait for details AND pix if you can pull some off!

Tessa,
I feel for you. I taught kindergarten for 12 years and now I have little ones myself. I always felt I was really good about watching that feelings weren't getting hurt in the classroom. I tried to always mix up the kids and never let them exclude anyone. It's VERY hard because girls can be really mean and are very sensitive. The other ladies have given you great advice. Don't let your DD see your pain and then talk to her about how it is so good to have many friends. I try and tell my DD this too but WOW does it sting when they get their feelings hurt! Oh I hate it!!!!!!!!

We are home for today after being in Wisconsin for Saturday and Sunday. It was chilly!! I can’t believe in one week I will actually be 40. The good news is I will be in MK for the whole day!!!!!! We celebrated with family on Sunday and my parents (who are traveling with us like usual) upgraded our standard view at AKL to a Savannah view as an early gift! That’s my kind of gift!! I am so excited. Even though we will only be in WDW for two nights I can’t wait! At least I will know we will be back in the Fall for our long trip!!! My DH even mentioned DVC the other day! I might actually be swaying him to the other side! Just wanted to share my good news.

I have been running around these days like it’s already summer. I don’t mind but it just makes time fly by which kind of depresses me. I mean I feel like the months go by in warp speed. It’s like we are in that one part of Space Mountain before you take off.

I have been selling a few things on Ebay but now I will probably wait until we get back to post more. I always calculate the ending time to end when I am in town but then I always seem to forget that I wait until people pay before I ship. Sometimes I even take my chances if they have good feedback and ship before payment. Well, I just feel like it’s such a game that it hurts my brain. How much do I charge? How much for shipping? Is this even worth it to put up for sale? I mean you have to add the cost to list, the cost to Ebay when it sells, the cost to PayPal and then the cost to ship!!! I mean sometimes you look back it it seems like you sold a nice Disneystore outfit or something like that for .99.

Have a great day everyone!
Shout out to my peeps......

Hi, my name is Debbie and I am a control freak! :wave2:
UPDATE: This has become an ongoing thread where people can come and talk about their worries, anxiety, control issues, trip planning, holiday complaining, anything you want to vent about thread!
There is also our trip check list included in this thread.

Now back to me.....
Anyone else out there like me? I can't stand when things are out of my hands. I worry about everything too! Please join us so you don't feel alone. We can all crab about stuff together and talk to someone who understands how we feel.

WDW is kind of good for our kind. We can make reservations, look at schedules, and have a plan for the whole trip but.....
don't throw any curve balls our way like refurbishments or a bad view or God forbid someone gets sick!
 We might go crazy, out of our minds, coo coo.

Because I am a control freak this also adds up to "worry freak" too.
Worrying that stuff is going to go wrong that you can't fix!
Am I alone?

Maybe we should make it our goal to compile a list that we can keep, cut, and paste, etc. that would serve as some sort of check list that leaves nothing out. I am sure someone has already done this but we could do it again....

We are crazy though so we can put EVERYTHING  on ours!

I'll start and then whoever wants to add on can just copy, paste and add on then repost....

I bet we could get the ultimate list for us worrying control freaks so that nothing, I repeat nothing can go wrong.... :rotfl2:

Thanks all,
as with all these things, a little extra time passing has helped my little one - also it is now a holiday week (or vacation -magicfor2 - it is funny the differences in the language that's supposed to be "universal"), so no school and she has her best friend to herself for a week - I have spoken to her teachers and they were really not aware of what they were doing (or I presume of the effects...), so hopefully, all will be calm and less heart-rending for a while !! But I think we are going to go through this more than a few times with 2 sensitive girls (well 3 if you count me..).....

Anyhow - those margaritas sound yummy - I've been told to look out for a "dole whip" when we come over too...

mmmmmmmmmm
(a happier) Tessa

Hi Gang!
Just a quick fly by!
I am getting my pretrip anxiety that's for sure. Hopefuly everything will be smooth sailing!
Still have to figure out my stroller dilema and am keeping my fingers crossed with the weather. The clothes my kids have...jeez! I don't know what to leave home!
Busy days!
Hope you are all well!

Lisa...I want pix!!!!

Tammie! How are you doing!

Hi Debbie! 2 days!!! :cheer2: How exciting that you get a Savannah View! We have one, too for two nights. I want to see the giraffes! I am going crazy trying to get caught up at work and get all of my phone calls done, as well as all of the errands - I need a vacation from my getting ready for vacation! :rotfl2:

Today I purchased all of the father's day and grad cards I will need, as well as birthday cards for my niece and nephew to bring along - I have my DS and DIL graduation from college party 3 days after we get back! :scared1: I am getting some catering and help with housework and decorating for that one, though. We are moving them out of town the next day, Father's Day :guilty: The next week, I have a baby shower for my other DIL.

Well, guess I need to get some sleep - take care! Happy Packing, Debbie!

Hello everyone!:grouphug:

:lmao: :lmao: That's too funny! Now I have heard of of needing a vacation from your vacation, but needing a vacation from planning your vacation???!!!! That's the control freak/planner coming out!! :lmao: :lmao: Have a wonderful trip!!!

Hi Gang!
Just a quick fly by!
I am getting my pretrip anxiety that's for sure.

Hey....I am sure you are super busy, but wanted to wish you a fun trip and a Happy Birthday!!! Can't wait to hear about it!

My youngest had her End of the Year program last night at Preschool. It was so cute. She was in the front and singing soo loud. Tues. is her Dance recital. I can't wait for that one! My older DD has several things coming up as well. In the fall she will be in Middle School. I can't believe it. The next 3 weeks are going to buzz by and I haven't planned out our days at WDW. I need to make time!!! At least I have ADRs.

Stay in touch everyone!

Pam

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been MIA but I had so much to take care of after vacation. I dropped my video tape of our princess breakfast and teacup ride in salt water at Discovery Cove so I sent it to a professional video repair hoping it can be saved.
Our first night we got to CBR at around 4:30 or so and the kids all wanted to swim. We were supposed to do DTD but I went along w/my DD and we had a great time swimming and eating dinner.
The next morning we were up early for CRT but our taxi driver didn't get a car seat like we asked so we had to wait an extra 15 min. We arrived at MK at 8:05 and were able to take a few pics before breakfast. I loved walking in being relaxed. The breakfast was so fun. DD loved talking to Aurora. When the princesses walked in she would say "It's Belle", "It's Aurora". We got a seat by the window. I will try to show pics. I couldn't have had a better morning. Oh, and I loved the french toast w/berries. So... good.
The day kept going good. When we got out of breakfast at 9:00 the crowd was right behind us and we went on Peter Pan. Walked on. Then 3 times on the teacups, twice on Aladdins carpet ride, I went on Phillharmagic since DD was too scared of the dark after Winnie the Pooh. I have never gone on the teacups or carpet ride and I found them to be extremely fun listening to DD's laughter and seeing her smiles. We then went to EPCOT because DD fell asleep in her stroller so the monorail kept her sleeping. We had coffee and a creme brulee at France and then went to Kona Cafe for dinner. This is where the control freak part began. We couldn't get res. for dinner until 8:00 and we wanted to see the fireworks at 9:00. My sister was at MK with my nephew's room key which you need for EMH's and I went crazy thinking we should just leave Kona since we weren't even seated yet at 8:15. We left but my DH was still hungry. If I had planned earlier everything would have been fine. I made res. that day. Bad idea. Anyway, we just made it to the fireworks and DD loved the castle changing colors. I just wish I had been in a better mood. Then we had to find food for DH. I still feel bad about that. We still had a great day.
I think I will leave you w/that for now. Seems long enough for one post.

Welcome Back Lisa! I'm glad you had such a good trip! It is great that CRT lived up to your expectations! Debbie is doing dinner there on her birthday!

Hi everyone - just checking in on my way to bed! I worked 2 1/2 hrs at home last night for my J.O.B. and then I worked until 7pm tonight getting all of the loose ends tied up (sort of) and training the new manager to take over. Now I am officially ON VACATION :cool1: I'm sure there must be a margarita around here somewhere..... :jumping1:

Hiya Pals!!
Today is mt peak pretrip anxiety day (oh.. but tomorrow AM will be worse). We leave tomorrow at about 11:30ish. Once again we have a ton of luggage.
Oh well.

Hi ladies.........
TinkLvr (Maureen) ,hannahsmomma (Jaclyn) ,Ahibird (keahi) ,Sewer ,tea4sanity (Joanne),2girlsmom (Kristy)

Hope I'm back to say goodbye before I leave!

Tessa - I am so glad things are getting better. Whenever my DD, 2 yrs, sees other little kids now she tells me "Mom, look, a little girl." You can tell she wants to play w/others she doesn't know but she is shy and there aren't a lot of kids around our house who speak English. Also some other kids just aren't friendly. At the mall, she sat next to a little girl in Gymboree and said Hi but the girl didn't even look at her. Maybe she was shy too. It is hard for kids to realize that sometimes.

Pam - Good to know you're having a great start to the summer. All mothers tell me that even sports you think are boring are so fun to watch when your kid is in it.

Debbie - Wow! You leave tomorrow. Happy early birthday to you! Hope everything is perfect. I will probably do the CRT again sometime. It was awesome.

Tammie - :woohoo: Sounds like you are already there. I am still there thinking back on the fun times.

Keahi - Thanks. I had a blast. Now I want to start planning along w/you and Maureen. October it is then. I wish.

Maureen - Does you DH help alot w/the kids on vacation? I needed my DH there quite a few times when I got tired. DD would nap in the stroller and we couldn't get back to the hotel in time for me to relax. I think that is the main reason for my breakdowns was being tired. Well, happy planning.

:wave2: Bye everyone! We are off to the airport in a couple hours:car: ! Of course I am nervous! :yay: I hope everyone has a great week while I am gone. You know I will be thinking about my fellow disers:grouphug: ! I'll be looking for you Tammie!
I might have access to a computer in Naples:surfweb: . So maybe I can check in around Wednesday. We will see. It’s only two nights:guilty: at AKL but I can’t wait to have a new WDW experience:wizard: .
Well, I leave you a “thirty something” and return in my 40’s! Bummer:sad2: ! Thanks for all the birthday and travel well wishes!
See ya pals:mickeyjum ! Love ya all!:flower3:
Debbie

Have a great trip!! Can't wait to hear about it! You too Tammie!

Boy am I pooped today! All day yesterday and then this morning we were getting ready and setting up for my DD's birthday party. When I entertain, I entertain. I try to not overdue it, but I always do. I was so tired that I slept until 10:33 am this morning!! I couldn't believe it! I don't think I ever slept that late in my life!! Party was fun and all the parents were really fun as well. Have a few more parties and recitals, dentist appts. and then off the Disney.

I had a nightmare last night that my trip was barely planned (which is true) and then everything went totally wrong. Weird dream.

Hope all your summers are getting off to a great start!!

Well, DD is OK for now - but I'm starting to fret a little cos school goes back tomorrow here, she says she's OK and I couldn't believe it, but she came up with her own solution (she is FOUR!! - well five in July )
She said she's going to try to be a friend to * too just like her best friend is - cos that would follow "the friendship rule" they have at school..... ahhhhhhhh:hug:

Anyhow - sounds like you had a good trip Lisa - I LOOOOOOOVVVVEEE the teacups too - I pretend to be scared and the kids get a little wicked streak and spin me as fast as they can!!! Their faces on there are priceless..

Good journey to all who are going soon (or whoops - have just left by the looks of it!!) Hope you have a great trip, organised to perfection of course!

I want to be there NOW, we have nearly a year to wait, and worry, and plan, and organise and dream - I'm quite looking forward to that bit now -but I totally get how you feel about needing a holiday to recover from planning!!!!;)

bye for now... off to shop for groceries on-line I love the internet!!
Tessa

Happy Birthday Debbie!:bday:

Hope you are having a great time on your birthday trip!

Lisa...I definitely needed DH's help with the kids. I always try to make it back to the hotel for naps but sometimes that doesn't happen. I hate it when one of the kids falls asleep on the bus because that ruins the nap. DH does help a lot, but still now enough for me to get rest. Then I get really cranky and mean! I love going to WDW, but when I get back, I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation!

Pam...your trip is coming up quick!

We booked POFQ for Oct 20 to Oct 25. I am hoping that when passholder rates come out we can upgrade to WL. Has anyone stayed there?

I am having a hard time typing because DS is laying on my arms and screaming and pointing to all the smilies. He is now hitting me because I am not paying attention to him. Its been a long day here. DH is at the pediatricians with the baby. She has a double ear infection. She is going to be one on Wednesday. I am sad because soon I won't have any little babies!

Hi to everyone! Hope you all are having a great summer. I have not been able to be on too much since the baby started crawling. I miss talking to everyone, but I am sure when the cool weather comes back, we will be able to chat more.

Maureen!!! :goodvibes How are you? Your poor DD...a double ear infection!! Although your little ones are growing up...they will always be your babies. :cloud9:

My youngest will be 4 on June 24th and she has one more year or preschool and then she'll be off to kindergarten (we have full day kindergarten here too). I was thinking about it the other day and started to well up. I can't believe 4 years has passed by already. Once she goes to kindergarten I'll be looking to get back into the workforce full time and I know I'll miss her. My older DD (11) is entering middle school and she's at that stage where it's not that cool to have mom hanging around..at least she stills hugs me in front of her friends.

I am sooo ready for my vacation! We're staying at VWL for the first 4 days and then at OKW for the other 6 days. I think Lisa or Jacyln stayed at VWL. I can't remember who it was. The lodge is really beautiful. I don't like the room decor (the colors) but everything else is nice!

Hi everyone!!!!

Tessa - My DD loved spinning those teacups, too. I can't believe how wild she is at 2. I didn't realize your trip is so far away. We started planning 9 months before our trip. It seemed like forever the first few months but then the time flew by. Now I can't wait for the next trip. We don't know where we would want to stay next time but we have been to CBR the last 3 times so we would like to try something new. I am glad your dd is doing better. I don't think I will be able to get my DD off to preschool. She does not want to be away from me ever, not even when my DH watches her.

Maureen - I know how you feel about not having a baby anymore. I don't think we will have another and infants are so cuddly. I do enjoy watching my DD growing up though. Oh, and I totally understand about your DS not letting you on the computer. My DD likes to play w/the keyboard now. We never stayed at VWL. There are hotels like that all around the Wisconsin Dells that we go to that we love so we try to do something different at Disney. Did you ever stay at POFQ? I hear it is nice.

Pam - Does it really start around 11 when your kids don't want you around? I can't remember all this from my childhood. I bet you can't wait for your trip.

Lisa...your DD is only 2? For some reason I always thought she was 7? My older DD was about 10 (last year) when she wanted to start picking out her own clothes, and was "in a hurry" so couldn't give a hug. She still does the hugs sometimes, but not at school. She'd rather wear t shirts and jeans all the time and be more boyish (if it has pink, she won't wear it). (If I had my way she'd be more preppy.) This year it was all about cliques. Already! My DD gets along with everyone, but some friends wouldn't be friend if she was friends with so and so, etc. The next few years will be very trying for both my DD and us. My youngest is also very social (and more of a mommy's girl) and just loves school.

about my vacation, I can't believe it's almost here. I am counting the days and hopefully...the 10 days that I am down there go realllll slow. Not looking forward to the extreme heat though.
