ahibirdpixiedust: pixiedust: to your son. I think that I would like to stop worrying, but I don't know how. I am leaving for WDW tomorrow and I had a dream a few nights ago that I didn't pack socks for the kids.

magicfor2 Oh no! You made me realize that I will have a whole new set of worries to look forward to when my little ones are grown! I loved your story about the pastor. Other than your worries about your grown children and DGS, I know your worries well.

Its so nice to have you both on the thread...I love forward to chatting more when I get back from my trip. Wish me luck...the departure is always so stressful for me. It's hard to get everyone up and out to the airport on time. Getting a baby, a toddler, and a 3 year old and the "stuff" through security is a nightmare!

Welcome Magicfor2 & ahibird!
You have come to the right place. I am a worry wart over just about everything. Now that I have a child I worry way more. And I care way too much about what others think. I have been working on that problem for years. I don't always organize everything like I used to but I try when I have the energy. If I don't get everything done that sometimes leads to depression and anxiety.
Ahibird - That is great that you are trying to get your son into a private school. I went to a Catholic school and it was great. Things were organized, children were disciplined, and you usually had time to do some of your homework in class. I don't know how the public schools around here are. Hopefully they are pretty good. I don't know if we will have the money for a private school. Good luck to your son.
Debbie - How was HSM? How are you guys healthwise? Hope you're ok.
Tinklvr - Have fun on your trip.
fromscratchmom & Pam - Hi. How are you guys doing? Hope the sicknesses are all done w/for the winter. Would'nt that be nice.
Sewer and flyingbabyb - Hi!
Did I forget anyone? It is getting hard for me to keep up w/everybody, but I do think you guys are all great to talk to.

Hi Everyone…

I have been MIA for a little bit because after having an incredible time at the HSM concert I got the bug from DD. Wow! What a doozy! I was pretty sick and still don’t really have any energy. Thank goodness it’s the weekend and my DH is home. The baby got terrible runs and after thinking DD was well (because she is acting fine) she has the terrible runs too! Oh well. I better stop before this post becomes way TMI!!!! Let’s just say things are NOT fun around here right now. I pray no one else gets it! My DD was with my Mom the whole time DH was taking care of DS and me so I think DH and Grandma are doomed. I feel really bad.

ENOUGH ABOUT ME.......
I feel so bad I wasn't here to say bye and have a nice trip to TINKLVR! She is in WDW right now!!! Isn't she so lucky!!!

Lisa(Disneyohana)...I am glad you guys had fun. I was worried about you all since we were all together before we got sick. I'm glad you didn't get it because it is nasty! You know the worrier in me was like thinking of that DQ!!! I'm sure now it is just a terrible virus going around.
The water park sounds so fun!!!! I'm glad you could actaully relax for a couple days!
ahibird and magicfor2You two are going to fit right in here! Your posts sound just like all of us already here! We would love to have you. We are good listeners.
ahibird Good luck with your DS's test!!!:teacher:
Magicfor2I thought I typed your post! I am not kidding! You should see how I was out of my mind at the High School Musical concert where they were selling the concert souvineers! OMG! It was like one massive crowd pushing their way forward to get to 4 workers! I was in in line for 45 minutes to pay WAY TOO MUCH for a sweatshirt and program! There were no lines just a massive crowd!! I mean who's in charge of this stuff!
Pam(PBharris) I guess you know where I am coming from right now. Did you pass me your virus through the computer waves!!:rotfl2: Oh and I come here to for the adult conversation too! Plus, you guys seem to actually listen to me!

I like this thread because you can come and vent and talk about things that worry you and we all understand. NOTHING seems far fetched or silly to us!
Have a great rest of the weekend!
GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debbie

Debbie - I am so sorry for you guys. We are all doing fine, luckily. At least you and your DD got to see the play. That was a miracle. I'm glad you had fun. Good picture of the show.
Did you see the extra features in "The Little Mermaid"? There was supposed to be a ride. They show what it would have been like if you were on it. I thought it looked pretty cool. DD keeps watching it over and over.

Yeah...I still can't believe Elizabeth got so sick and then better before the concert and then I got it right after! It's like we were destine to go to that show! It was really fun! My Mom kidded me that maybe I had more fun than DD!

I’m not sure what “Little Mermaid” thing you are talking about.

I better go DH and DG are really sick now too. I, myself feel 100 times better. At least it is over fast!

I wish I was where Tink is now! Lucky girl!

I had a dream last night that about 35 of my relatives showed up at my house all dressed up only I didn't remember I invited them. I guess they thought there was a christening or something? (My DD is 3 and was baptized years ago...don't why I dreamt that). Of course, I was totally freaking out because I had nothing to serve..so I placed this huge order from Cracker Barrel. All the men and boys were out playing football, DH ditched me, etc. A family had left because they were pissed off at another family, etc. Thank goodness my DD woke me up! Talk about an worry warts worst nightmare! I had totally no control! Phew..never want to have THAT dream again! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Debbie...glad the concert was great...sorry about the illness. I'm good to go, but DD now has a nasty cough and runny nose. I think she had 2 different viruses. Hope everyone gets well soon!

Hey, Lisa..how are you?!

Magic: That was a cute story about your son and what the pastor said. :rotfl: I hardly ever worried until I had kids. Coming from a small coal mining town in PA where they still leave their keys in the car to where I am now was an adjustment. Sometimes I wish I lived back there again. My oldest DD is 11 and will be in middle school next year. I am Soooooooo not ready for the ride I am about to take. Suddenly, I am 35 yo...where did the last 15 years go? Thanks for spilling. You're just like the rest of us.

Ahibird: Keep posting, girl! Say what you feel. Some other forums on the DIS can get heated with people flying their opinions everywhere, but we're not like that. :flower3: Best Wishes on your DS's test!!

Congrats on the Bears making it to the Superbowl!!!! I am so glad the Colts are going, too! I really want Peyton Manning......to win Superbowl, that is. Edited: oops...sorry Debbie..forgot yopu were a Bears fan.

Pam - I haven't had one of those type of nightmares in a while, but I used to all the time. I guess I am too tired lately to remember my dreams.
I was excited that the Bears are going to the Superbowl. Although I am not really into sports that much, it reminded me of when I was a kid and they made it to the Superbowl. We watched the Superbowl w/my uncles and aunts, parents, & grandparents. My grandpa was still w/us. We had so much fun cheering, and that superbowl shuffle was so fun for us kids.:cool1: Ah, memories.
Debbie - The Little Mermaid DVD has a games & activities part that shows what the Little Mermaid ride would have looked like if they built it. The designers already finished the project but it was put on hold. They didn't say why, though. This was back in 1992.

Hi Sewer...glad we haven't scared you away yet!:goodvibes
Glad you are sticking around.

Question for ya?????
Do you sew???? I am assuming you do but you know what they say when you assume......

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and for all the pixie dust for my DS. You guys are the best. :flower3:

We made it through the Sat. testing with no problems (yes, you'd think I took the test ). Now we're just keeping our fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, we realized this weekend that if DS gets accepted to this new school, we won't be able to go to WDW in Oct. (the trip I had already promised to him :guilty:). This new school's schedule is different than his current one (he's currently year-round). The new one doesn't have a two week Fall break in Oct. Well, after much discussion, my DH and I decided that it would be best for us if we postponed WDW until sometime in 2008. :sad1:

But, all is not lost. I managed to talk my DH into a short trip to Disneyland in early March. In that we live in Hawaii, it's easier for us to travel to DL vs WDW - shorter (and cheaper) plane ride. DS will end up missing 4 days of school, but I'm lucky in that his teacher is a "disney-freak" like me (that's my DH's technical term). She will give us his school-work in advance.

So, Disneyland, it is. I've changed my ticker, and I'm starting to plan - and re-plan and obsess and worry and re-plan... ;)

Hope all works out! Disneyland, Disneyworld doesn't matter as long as you get to see the mouse! I have a friend who lives in Hawaii. He works at the Bank of Hawaii on Oahu. He's trying to get his DDs into a certain school..I think it's the one where Michelle Wie and Kelly Preston went. They were thinking of taking a trip to WDW too. They went to DL last year, I believe. My sister used to live there (her DH was at Kaneohe (I'm sure I spelled that wrong!) and we were there for 3 weeks (years ago). Last night, I was talking to Dh about possibly going to Hawaii in a year or two (if we're lucky enough to trade DVC to Ko Olina for a week!)

Well, it's great you at least get to go to DL! The Mouse is the Mouse no matter the House!

Pam

Hi Everyone,
AHIBIRD...glad the test is over and it went well!!!!!:cool1: I'm glad you still will have a trip to look forward to!!! Cool beans! Any ticker is a good ticker!
Hi everyone else too.
I am kind of stressing because both the kids still have diarrhea. I think I made a mistake by letting them continue to drink milk but I was happy they were drinking. I haven't done the pedeilite yet because they are alert and eating and drinking. It just goes right through them. Oh boy. I feel so bad for them. They are acting great...it's just the nasty runs!
SORRY for TMI!

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend!

Debbie, I'm sorry your kids are still sick. We had a nasty round of that stuff just before Christmas with our DGS 2.

Ahibird, glad that the test went well! Have fun planning for DL! Of course we also get to DL way more often being a state away with relatives living in Anaheim. Gotta love the mouse!::MickeyMo

This week's worry: I had to change our ADRs for June from Teppanyaki in Japan - they will be closed. I booked at Ohana, but I didn't check with my DSIS to see if she would like to eat there. Hope she likes it. I have heard good things about it, and she says her kids need to be in early, so I don't think she'll mind leaving Epcot. I have been reading that the menus are changing and becoming "standardized" - I hope that doesn't mean that it will change the ambience too much - part of the fun for us is eating at all of the different restaurants. Has anyone eaten at Ohanas?:rolleyes1

Pam, where did you see High School Musical - I probably missed it since I'm new. I know what you mean about the unorganized line. I don't know why someone can't think through the situation before it happens. :thumbsup2

Hi, Tammie!

I only saw High School Musical on DVD. Debbie and her DD saw it the other night. I should take my DD though. When in June are you going to Disney? We'll be there June 24-July 4th. I've only had Ohanas for breakfast which is good. I've heard good things about dinner though. I LOVE Kona Cafe for all 3 meals!! They probably are "standardizing" menus since the dining plan..I've felt the quality of service AND food go down somewhat, but it's still pretty good.

That was me!

The Highschool Musical Concert is on tour just like singers tour. It was all the songs from movie. Are you a fan of the movie? We love it.

This is a link I found about it.

We liked Ohana. They bring the food out on skewers (shrimp, steak, and chicken). My Mom thinks the food is a little too seasoned (spicy) for her and one time the food was dry but I have always been happy with it there. When we were there we ate by the window to WISHES. It was great! It's (obviously) a Hawaiian theme. No characters at dinner.
The baby is still bad so I finally gave him pedialite.

Good night pals!

Oops! I keep getting the names wrong  sorry. It's like meeting a new roomful of people and then trying to remember their names:rotfl:

Debbie, I actually haven't seen the movie yet - my DH doesn't like musicals and i have been so busy. I just didn't realize they were on tour already - sounds like fun! I hope your baby gets well soon. Are you doing the BRAT diet? Bananas, rice, apples, toast. Of course no dairy. I guess you know - I worked at a Peds clinic, so I go into advice mode - feel free to tell me to shut up :thumbsup2

Thanks Pam and Debbie for the info on Ohana. Window seat during Wishes sounds really magical! Do they pipe the music in?
