OK. When I get back on here, I am hooked. Oh well!
I know! I'm the same way...
Kara - Have fun on your trip - a beach trip? Sounds wonderful! I'm behind. Is this an adults only trip? Ally is going to the beach w/others?
No, it's a family trip this weekend. We're just driving to Clearwater, about 4 hrs away. Today she is going to Jacksonville Beach with her summer camp. I know she has been so looking forward to this - going to the beach with a group of kids. It broke my heart last night when she was sobbing after I told her she couldn't go. So now she is upstairs cleaning her room. I'll take her to camp around 11:30 so she can leave for the beach with them at noon.
My girls are with my mom and dad all week. My mom took vacation from work to be with them. We had the first grandchild, but now there are 3 on my side and 5 on DH's side. MIL and FIL are retired, so they can, and are willing to, keep them any time. I am not trying to rub it in, but we are truly blessed that way.
Renee, I wish that for you. But, there is still, after all of these years, some competition and jealousy between the grandma's, which can be frustrating. MIL asks when she can keep the girls, and we don't let her as often as she would like to. They are just so busy now, with activities. My mom sometimes seems like it's a burden - she has to take a day off work to clean house after they stay for a weekend because she didn't have her regular cleaning/laundry/ironing day, but then seems upset when she hears about the girls staying with ILs. This summer, she asked me if she could take a week's vacation and have the girls stay with her, so they are. It is just so much easier w/ILs because they don't work. Megan just turned 15 and is really starting to let me know that she does not like to be there for a week because it keeps her away from friends and social activities. I can't say I blame her, but we don't do it that often. This would have been a week of summer w/no planned activities during the day, so they would have just been home, and I would have paid someone to come in and do something w/them one day, I would have come home for lunch one day (LONG drive, LONG lunch), MIL would have picked them up to take them to lunch/shopping or movie, I would have done 1/2 day vacation, etc. We haven't had very many of those weeks. Next week is vacation bible school at church, and Megan is teaching and Taylor attending. I will drop them in the AM on way to work, and someone will bring them home. It takes 1/2 of their day, so the rest of the day they are OK to stay home and chill. The following week, Megan starts a 2-wk band camp, which are 2 times a day!, AM and PM - 6:45-1:30pm and 7-9pm! I haven't figured out yet what I will do w/Taylor. It is so dang hot! and I worry about those kids being out there, marching. Band will control our lives thru the end of football season. We feel bittersweet about it. I am looking forward to the Friday Night Lights!

, but not the crazy schedule and driving back and forth. She has to be at school at 6:20am every AM! I will shower, take her, then come back home to finish getting ready for work and take Taylor to school. We will carpool.
Jillian - How fun to be trying for a baby!

Lucky you! I just have to enjoy my neice, who is 6 mos BTW, and is at a really fun age! My girls get to see her this week. I hope to Sat, when I pick them up from Mom's.
Tammie - You read to fall asleep? I have the disease that if I sit down for a minute, I can't keep my eyes open. I can go, go, go until really late, but if I park myself, even as early as 7pm, I can't stay awake. I try to keep on my feet, but if I do sit, I cannot just watch tv or a movie. I have to be playing an electronic game or stitching. I will fall asleep when I read, but I can read for awhile if it's not too late.
Date night tonight - yoo, hoo!
We aren't getting any rain from hurricane Dolly. None in the forecast - only over 100 temps for Sat, Sun and Mon!!
OK - I am a self confessed rambler.
