Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

Debbie - Hey stranger! Glad to hear you're still alive and having fun out there! My you're quite the busy lady!

Kara - Thanks for the Yankee Mickey logo - very cute. I saved it and may have to do something with it. I taped Miley on the Today show today; her concert movie is on the Disney Channel this weekend. We saw it in the movies but Lauren is so excited to see it again. Hope you guys have fun at the beach!

Ok, I have my own little vent. My sister and her kids are coming back up tonite. They have a rental on Cape Cod for a week, but can't check in until tomorrow. Rather than leave from NJ very, very early on Sat. and drive 7 hours, she asked to stay with me for the night tonite to help break the trip up. She said they'd be here by 5pm; I figured we'd just go out to dinner and then let the girls play for a little while before bed. Lauren is excited. Well, my sis just called and they're not leaving until 4pm because her son pitched a fit about having to leave camp a little early, so she's letting him finish the day at camp. I told her leaving that late will put her right in rush hour traffic but she says it shouldn't be too bad.(What does she know?) Now we'll be lucky if they get here before 8:00; well, I told her we'll still go out to dinner because honestly I wasn't prepared to have to cook anything and I'm not changing my plans because she gave in to an 8 yr. old!(she babies her son soooo much because he's the only boy) And, to tell you the truth, I originally had plans to go out with my girlfriend tonite but cancelled when my sis told me she wanted to come up. I just know this is really going to get screwed up tonite! The more I hang around my DSis and her kids, the more grateful I am that we are only at Disney together for three days. As I know many of you have said here, it's hard to co-habitate with other families!

All that talk about Japanese steak houses made me hungry for that! DH and I did our Mexican food happy hour last night, and we were trying to decide what to do on our last date night before getting the kiddos back tomorrow. YUM! We enjoyed a wonderful Chinese dinner w/Saki in Vegas. Hmmm….

We ended up just sinking barely under $300 to fix our fridge, so we won’t be fridge shopping tonight! Bad thing is that we have to clean it out really good before I restock it this weekend. Oh, yippee! Wonderful, romantic dinner followed by fridge cleaning. Uggh!

Kara – my daughters have some turd friends! I try to discourage them from being around too much! Of course, my girls are angels! Hee, hee! Taylor feels like she needs to have a friend stay overnight, or stay at some else’s overnight every weekend. That makes me crazy!

I will pick up the girls tomorrow AM, visit w/my brother, SIL and niece for a little bit, then Megan is going to a movie and overnight w/one of her friends (on her first night back!). Taylor and I will do a little one-on-one back to school shopping and mall fun. My one-on-one back to school shopping w/Megan will be Sunday. (Thanks, Cammie! You inspired me for more of this from reading about your mother/daughter trip!) After all, it is much more painful to take both of them together.

Kara and Renee – Have fun on your trips!! No blackberries for me! When I am away, I want to be away and not stay connected! If it weren’t for my kids, I’d be the same way w/my cell. Sometimes I don’t want to be reachable!

Those men sometimes! What would they do w/out us??!

Kara – Thanks for the Mickey Ranger logo! Can we put this in our siggie? We are homies – support the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and Stars, no matter how they are doing! DH is a fantasy football nut, and it is all getting ready to begin. I think our Cowboy training camp started yesterday. He is so strategic about all of it. I just wish that he would put that much effort into some of the house stuff. He did take care of the fridge situation though. He even took off work yesterday PM to meet the guy at the house. I was very impressed!!! Now, I need him to take care of getting the roof fixed from the storms we’ve gotten. We got an insurance quote, but need to get estimates. It is always something!!

Hannah Montanta, Jonas Brothers, HSM – they love them all, and I have to admit that I do, too! Megan still likes these things, and I am so glad. I know that the big high school will be bringing on changes to my baby. I do not want them to grow up so quickly!

Tessa – I loved the story about hiding secret messages! We are living in our first home, and we have pencil tick marks on the door frame of the laundry room. Marking the girls’ height thru the years. I am ready to have the kitchen painted, and will not be able to paint that door frame!

Jillian - Moose juice?! YUM! Have to try it! 2 is my limit of anything. I had 2 margaritas last night, then feel asleep in a chair at Bass Pro while DH picked up a few fishing supplies. Yes, we are quite the partiers – dinner and Bass Pro, dinner and fridge cleaning, when we have nights w/out kids. I guess we’re too old and have been married too long, or we are just plain boring!

Cammie – Uggh! about your DS! I’m w/ya on doing your own thing tonight. IMO, traveling w/family, and being in WDW w/family is very challenging, but the secret is to split up and meet up occasionally, or at least just split up occasionally, so you can do what you want to do and don’t compromise, even if it is only for 3 days.

Hey, all! This is probably my last post before we roll out of here.

I just found a SW flight for Jeff to go to his sisters. I think this is the best compromise. It's $250 vs $160 in gas to drive. It's 1000 miles round trip!!! Yeah, like I want Ally doing that over a weekend, right before school.

So I"m going to bring that up this weekend. We'll see how that goes....

Kara - good luck with the SIL this weekend. I think you're doing the right thing! And have a wonderful time at the beach - sooo jealous!

Renee - Are you gone yet? How did you make out the Stitch DVD? And how did your conversation with your dad go? And did you make the Disney presentation to Carlos yet?

Pam - Yeah - your girls are back tomorrow! I know I always look forward to getting a break from them; but when they're gone, I miss them so much. Sounds like you and hubby made good use of your time though!

Laura - I have a Pampered Chef pizza stone and I love it! I just use it in the oven though; never thought to try the grill!

Jillian - Keep us posted of any more plans you make for your Disney trip. I want to make sure we hook up down there.

Hi Tessa and Tina! It sounds like you both are being kept very busy by your girls!

So I read a comment in one of Kara's posts about being disappointed in the balloons - I don't know what you guys ordered but we really thought they were cute and so appreciated it. I hate to see anyone go to anymore trouble about them. It was just so nice of all of you to think of us that way!

Hi Everyone! We're back and Mason did great! It was a day surgery, and he woke up quickly from the general anesthesia. We went out to lunch at Olive Garden before we came home - we don't have one here. He ate well, and started to get playful again, right before the Codeine kicked in, and he got sleepy again Thanks everyone for your prayers!

Cammie, I'm so glad Amanda is doing well!

Cammie- My family imposses on everything even dinner. We are just use to it here everyone lives within 15 mins of each other so we see each other at least twice a week. Enjoy Dinner if you have a bugaboo near you try that drink Yum Yum
I will post my plans so far later on tonight I am going to try to change around a few ADR's to see what we get or cancel them altogether and just wing it.

Pam- Mike and I are not the party type either last night was the first date night in 6 months. We joke that we have only ever been on 3 "real" dates. Usually our night w/o Badookie consists of Shopping for Badookie or groceries and then dinner w/ diet coke

Tammie- I am so glad Mason did well today. I was thinking of him while we were on our day trip. We use to love OG but has gotten so salty we cannot eat it anymore We sometimes get tiramisu to go.

We went to visit my dad again today and then Mike applied at the Local fire Dept. Near my Dad. So we will see. It means having to move and buy another house which I am not in the mood to do right now. Yuck! If we move I would have liked somewhere like Florida or S. Carolina.

I can't wait! DH said I'll be ready to ship them back after 5 mins. I DON'T THINK SO! Maybe 10 or 15....

tim's mom took the kids. My family is really close like Jillian's. We live within 2 miles of each other. I can ride my bike to both grandparents place. It has drawbacks. People just pop in for dinner. The girls seem to spend one day a week with each set of grandparents. It is a real life line.

Your Saturdays sound like ours. It is always chore day here too! I go grocery shopping and laundry gets done and the kitchen and Bathroom get deep cleaned.

Yes, it came last night; we got home from dinner around 9:00 and it was sitting outside my garage. Something came for Lauren yesterday afternoon but she wasn't home until last nite to open it.

Hi girls .. i've ben missing for a while .. been so busy here!! Decorated my folks house whilst they were in Canada, they absolutely loved it and my friend and i are now talking about going into it for a business .. we did her folks house last summer and my brothers too so fingers crossed .. since then i have been helping my bf pack up her house as she moves a week monday plus i am organising a surprise 40th wedding anniversary party for my folks which is a week today so all a little stressful here .. plus of course i now have my girl at home with me which i love but another person in the house all day means i don't get on here as much as i'd like ... Anyway i'm missing chatting with you all soooo much, hopefully when party is done and friend has moved i can return back here to chat with you guys

We just got back from the lake. We drove about a half hour from here and hit a local lake to swim and take a long bike ride. I am going to really enjoy the fact that Beth can ride her bike by herself. Needless to say I am sore and sunburned.

I think our fall trip is off. We (I really mean Tim) want to get a pool or spa. Can't decide which one. I lean towards a pool because the kids love to swim. TIm wants a spa because he loves to just sit in the tub and relax. So we'll go round and round on this for a while. but no trip. Kind of bummed but I think this will be a better use $$..

I just wanted to make sure. It was suppose to be delivered 2 days ago and the tracking said it was out for delivery then I noticed they spelt your name wrong.
