Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Check out my siggie!!!!! I just booked a weekend at WL - I'd heard it was the prettiest at Christmas and since we've never stayed there...... Actually, it was Jeff who forwarded me the email with the special deals!!

So I started to book online and got $199/night then decided to call to see if that was the best I could do. The CM could only get $240/night! She kept trying to get $199 for me but finally she told me to book online! Woo hoo! Got a deal! :cool1:

congrats. I was starting to worry that you didn't have a ticker. LOL

Is it bad to hope for hail? It is raining now and thundering really loudly. I really don't like the vinyl sidding I have or the roof. I'd love to get a new one. bad I know.

I'm prepping for vacation. For some reason it just doesn't have the same feel as a disney trip. Although this one is a lot cheeper. Girls are looking forward to hitting the apline slides at the near by ski hill. Yes I said hill nothing in MN could be considered a mtn. The slides are concrete gutter that you ride a small cart down. Way fun. I'll post pics. Party is coming along nicely. The kids still haven't spilled the beans on it. One more week to go. My SIL said what if MIL shows up in her grubby lake clothes. I said oh well. I'm not ruining the surprise.

girls are awake gotta go....

Good morning ladies! I've been so busy this week - trying to catch up and then getting my Twitter up to speed for that class is crazy. Yesterday my internet was down most of the day.

Jillian - :grouphug: to you today. I just went throught the juice box incident a couple of weeks ago with Londynn. She was hiding behind the rocking chair and "watering" the window sill with her juice. I still haven't cleaned the little fingerprints off the windows around here. Feels like a little hug!

Laura, hope the party goes well, and enjoy the lake and the hill!

Kara, Yeah for the ticker!:banana::banana: You are so organized - you've already got the drawers cleaned out for Fall?

Tina, how is the sewing going?

Pam, we were in San Antonio. I'm looking forward to visiting at Christmas time and really checking things out!

Debbie, have to laugh about the whispering! Funny how we lose it with our own kids and stay so calm with everyone else's. I've seen Mark and Lindsay doing the same thing. Oh, and I did it too!

You know what's really funny to think about? You try to get their attention, and they just ignore you and keep doing whatever, and you lose it, and then they look at you like, "what's your problem?":rotfl2:

I have been learning more about Twitter - last night I went to a local "Tweet Up" - this gal was promoting it to everyone. Anyway, she had me help share the info. It is really easy, and if you click on "help" there are lots of tips. DM me if you want to play and have questions.

Have fun at the lake!

Pam, Kara and Tessa, I have a weight loss book with pictures of the fat and sugar in different foods - YUK! Anyway, that guy said that there are more calories and fat in a plain bagel then a donut, so you might as well enjoy the donut!:lmao:

Cammie, how is Lauren's mouth?

Okay, I've been awakened every morning at 5am when Jim gets up - I usually sleep through it - trouble is I don't go to sleep until midnight. I got on here to read a TR and get sleepy (not that I thnk they're boring, just read to get sleepy) anyway, here I am typing - must go back to sleep....

Love you all - have a great Friday!

TGIF! 4 more weeks until school starts for us. I cannot believe it. We need to get busy on the BTS shopping. We have backpacks and some supplies. Megan won't find out what each teacher needs until the first day, so then we will be at Target that first night, fighting the crowds, and finding some empty shelves. I wish they wouldn't do that. We can kind of guess some basic supplies and get them ahead of time, but can't predict all. Tay wants to buy from the list that the district provides, instead of buying the PTA pre-packaged supplies they sell at the orientation that is coming up in a couple of weeks. Ugh. I am going to print the list off of the internet, and hope that she changes her mind this weekend. They turn all of the supplies in to the teachers anyway. I will remind her we can get the cute, personalized stuff that she can keep. Meg starts sr. high, and Tay middle school.

2-a-day band practice starts in one week. I am looking forward to those Friday night lights!

Jillian - Thinking of you today. I hope that you get all of the rest that you need this weekend, and that you don't feel that bad.

Tessa - It sounds like you are doing fabulous on the weight loss! Bravo! I like to eat.

Tina - Your trip is close! Where are you staying? I am sure that everyone here knows, but I will ask! You aren't surprising your girls are you? There is no way that I could pull that off. I get too excited and cannot contain myself, especially in the last month. I would explode!

Cammie - How is Lauren's mouth? Poor baby. Joe is funny in these pics! The sweatshirt is a hoot!

Debbie - When's the big wedding? Is Matthew in the wedding, too?

Laura - Where are you going for vacation? Skiing? When?

Tammie - I haven't latched on to Twitter. I fizzled out on FB. They take up so much time, and my family cannot stand it when I am on the computer so much at home. They want my attention. Big bunch of babies! I try to do it at night, but now my kids are staying up later than me. Uggh.

Driver's ed is killing me. 7-9p every night for 2 weeks, then 5-7pm every night next week (Darrin & I will take turns leaving work early to get her there). She got her permit after the first week, and Darrin is taking her out to practice driving. She hasn't been w/a driving instructor yet. She is scared, and isn't sure she wants to drive. We may just wait until next summer and take it again. I don't want to force her to drive. I would be sick if something happened because she wasn't ready. I told her I would take her everywhere she wants to go (what was I thinking??), and maybe she'll be ready next summer. I don't want her working during the school year, but wanted her to get a job next summer. She may have to take the bus to work, then we could pick her up afterwards. A juice-shooting 2-year old is sounding good right about now!:)

A Friday shout out to everyone else!

Kara - Yippee on the ticker!! Great about the deal! LUCKY! WL looks so beautiful. Good for you on the fall cleanout. I wish I were 1/2 as organized as you. My closets need a lot of work.:rolleyes1

Pam - I hear ya on the school supplies. Get this - I went to Office Max and used the school list that was online. Spent $40. Then went to Walgreens and bought the same stuff and spent $30 but had a $5 coupon so it was only $25!

Now I will take back the Office Max stuff, but I'll keep the Walgreens bag until after the first day of school. Even though the school gives us a list for each grade, it seems that the individual teacher always has a different list. So I don't send anything with her the first day except pencils and a notebook. That way I can return what is NOT needed and then buy more. It's crazy!

Kohl's had a big sale (like they always do!) and I got Ally some really cute clothes! The scarfs are the big accessory and I got a couple of those. Plus the long shirts and leggings. She finally just trusted me and even though she didn't like a couple things I picked out, when she came home and tried them on in front of her full length mirror, her mouth fell open and she said, "I look like a rock star!" It was so cute!

The skulls are big this year and I will NOT let Ally get anything like that. I did let her get some stuff with peace signs though. As much as I'd love to keep her in Osh Kosh and stuff like that, there is no way that's happening anymore. So I try to let her wear the "styles" without some of the crazy themes, like skulls and crossbones. I just don't get that. Oh, and she let me get her a pair of Chuck Taylors - didn't get black, too goth for an 8 year old, but got chocolate brown and they are ADORABLE with some of the skirts she got!!! At first she didn't want them, but once she looked through some catalogs and saw that they are "in" she was cool with it.

It's so fun to shop with her! I love getting her all gussied up, even though there's no more pink and lace..... :sad2:

Hi Girls..
Congrats on the ticker Kara!

Hi Tammie & Pam...

Laura...aside from the lake and Naples, Fl I don't think I have even planned an nonWDW vacation since my honeymoon!

/
KARA - AWESOME on the trip!:cool1: Christmas is a great time to go!! The trees, the decorations and the parade - FUN! My mom likes to buy the girls their BTS clothes and I'm hoping for no skulls, the skirt I made has enough to last us a few years! Checked out the YMCA for gymnastics - they had some great prices and DH agreed it would be worth it for a 6 week session!! Can't wait for them to start already! It will so help DD10's ballet leaps.

LovinLife - I can't wait for the kids to go back to school! :rolleyes1 They don't go back until 9/2 and we come back the day before. :headache: funny my DD10 has the same name - sp the same way too!! What's her middle name? I am surprising my kids with the trip - they still don't know!! Hoping to pack in a few weeks, which is making me crazy that I can't spread the stuff all over the place!

Tessa - keep up the good work with the weight loss! I was suppose to walk on the treadmill this am, but decided to grab a big bottle of water and work in the sewing room instead. I don't eat or sit on the computer where the fat seems to build in the buttocks area.

Jillian - I hope all goes well for you!

I'm hoping to work on the yellow plaid skirt today so hopefully I'll have some pictures later on.

So here's a sharing moment from me - my BGF called me last night to announce that she's PG with her first :yay:and her BF's 4th:headache:. He's not that happy about it, but she's very excited. She's always wanted to have a baby so I knew she'd keep it. Her BF didn't want her too - he actually blamed her. I'm happy for her, but not happy about it being with him. He's such a jerk (oh she knows how I feel about him.) He's so selfish! He has 3 kids and when they come over twice a month she takes care of them the entire time. I think the only reason why he stayed with her was because she took care of his kids. He goes out with his cousin or buddies unless they are coming over my house and that's the only time he stays with them for the weekend. I can't stand that - it takes to tango and make a baby - I'm just saying. Now there's a baby, I'm pretty sure he's going to jump ship, but she's ok with it because she wants the baby so badly. It's kind of sad actually. Funny our psychic told her that she would have a baby but that he wouldn't be around and that was a year ago that she told us that.:wizard: She told DH that we would be building a house in NH and have a boat (which is crazy because I'm deathly afraid of drowning!) so I'm waiting for that to happen.:rolleyes1

Well the rain has finally stopped and DD10 as a friend over playing Wii, so I'm off to make that skirt and finish the laundry.

Sorry about the venting! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

party is for my inlaws 40th anniversary.

vacation is in WI on Big Round Lake. It is about 1.5 hrs northeast of Minneapolis. It is a family cabin so it works out nicely. It typically is our vacay every year. WDW was a special deal for us. The funny part is that it is the only other place that we have ever traveled to for a big vacation. Tim is still working on me to go someplace else. I have my heart set on a WDW in 1.5 yrs.

Pam what are your dates? I think you may be there with Cammie.

Morning sunshines! I am up early, at my normal weekday time, with Darrin, who is going kayaking this AM. He wants a real bass boat so badly, and has for such a long time, but finally settled on a kayak. He goes with one of his neighbor buddies, about twice/month. He got it for Father's Day, so we'll see if that keeps up. I just can't justify the expense of a real boat that is used so little, including storage, because we don't have anywhere to keep it on our property. I wouldn't want him gone multiple Saturdays a month, either. That can be his retirment thing. He just left. He does look so cute in his fishing outfit...

I have loads of laundry to do, and lots of picking up. We are providing dinner for the youth at church tomorrow night, so I need to grocery shop today and get supplies for that too - just making sandwiches/chips/cookies. Easy. My middle name. Taylor wants to do more BTS shopping. We also want to see Harry Potter today. I cannot wait to see it. I better take a nap before that! How many hours are in this day?!

Kara - I love Koh'ls. I use their charge, just to get the coupons and special promotions. I love the additional 30% off coupons, Koh'ls Cash...We always find good deals there. I miss the little girl clothing, too. I get so excited when Taylor gets something from this store called Justice. They have cute clothes for girls. This will probably be our last year to go there. She's getting less and less there.

Cammie - I had to look at your JB pics again. That is just awesome how you all were so close. Do they offer the extras to everyone, or do you have special connections? Megan saw them last night, and said that it is totally not fair, and what a horrible mom I am for never taking her to a concert, except for Barney and Sesame Street Live. I am thinking of taking the girls to see Mitchell Musso (from Hannah Montana) at House of Blues in October.

Debbie - Megan saw your avitar, and said, "That is creepy!". I laughed so hard. Darrin said, "Tell her I will double date w/Ashley (Tisdale)!". Now, I think THAT is creepy. (Guess it's because I am a fellow cougar, and Rob Pattinson is on my "list".)

Tina - You have a Megan (middle - Ashley) or Taylor (middle - Alyssa)? Can't wait to see pics of the cute yellow plaid skirt. You are a saint to keep your trip a secret. I couldn't pull it off.

Laura - When is your cabin trip? I wish that we had a cabin to escape to! We are at WDW Nov 19-26. Cammie - are you there at that time?

Clicking submit reply quickly, w/out looking over what I have typed, so I don't get a white screen on this stupid pc. We need to have it looked at, or just get another. It's annoying!:headache:

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!:grouphug:

Is anyone else a Twilight fan, besides Kara? I love this site: http://www.newmoonmovie.org, and I am definitely getting the party supplies on page 2 for my next birthday :rotfl: (and the Robert Pattinson pillowcase at Hot Topic, but Darrin doesn't know it yet:banana:) I know I'm being creepy...The official site is up now, too! :yay: http://www.twilightthemovie.com/

I am rotating laundry, but not much else yet. Computer time is OVER.

GOOD LUCK ALLY!!!! Although I already know from FB that she did well!:goodvibes

Pam - I was reading the first Twilight book to Amanda. My sister is head over heels about the series and thought we would like it. She was wrong. I just can't get into it. I think the major problem is that the movie was already out and I keep picturing the actors in mind as I read. And I can't stand the actors that starred in the movie. I can't find Edward romantic or dreamy because I keep picturing RobPatz. - who I think is dirty and yuck. And don't even get me started on Kristen Stewart! BLEH! Anyway, I got half way through the book with Amanda and stopped.

Jillian - How did everything go? I hope you're feeling ok and taking it easy.

Tina - Calm down cougar! That's just a young fan they bought up on stage! My, you're possessive! :lmao: Did you see my meet & greet photos? That boy has his arm around ME! (I'll be posting some concert photos this weekend!)

So Lauren is in NYC with her dad this weekend. What is supposed to be dad/daughter bonding time has turned into a boys weekend with Lauren tagging along. The ex's brother and 9yr.old nephew went also. They are going to a Yankee game today and who knows what else. For dinner last night they went to the ESPN Zone; AND Lauren is sharing a room with all three of them - sleeping in the same bed with her father! The poor thing is miserable; only got 3 hours of sleep last night because of all the snoring. Yeah, this is how a 13 yr.old girl wants to spend a weekend.

Sorry I b*** so much about him but there is SO much to b**** about. I won't even get into right now what went down regarding the JB concert. I'll save that for another day. Just one jerk move after another.

As for Lauren's mouth - everything is fine. All that worrying for nothing. The spot turned out to be a mucoseal (sp?) and it IS in the sinuses - no doubt. Nothing needed to be done. I know it wasn't the ortho.'s area of expertise but he said it wasn't in the sinuses; the oral surgeon was said it most definitely was - the whole area above her roots were the sinuses. He did a very nice explanation but I'm slightly annoyed with the ortho. for worrying us. Sometimes I think it's a little game they got going on that involves referring us to their fellow friend drs. for nothing.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all enjoying the weekend. The weather is great here today and I think Amanda and I are heading over to a friend's pool to hang out later in the day. YAY!:yay:

You're not creepy. Lauren and I bought CampRock tatoos and all of the Joe ones are MINE! :lovestruc (she says as she sips coffee from her Joe/CampRock coffee cup).:rolleyes1

Hi girls

Wow you were busy maybe I'm a thread killer LOL. Everything went well yesterday thank you for all of your concern. I was happily drugged up yesterday and only had a bit of pain today I felt like I was kicked in the stomach a few times, but it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The doctor said he took care of everything and there was alot in there that he didn't see on ultrasound. So now is the 2 month countdown until we can start trying to have Baby #2. Just in time for Disney

Kara- good deal on the supplies just remember to watch out for Staples circular they have dollar deals. I agree with you on the skulls they have a lot for Luca's age too and I just won't do it. Glad Ally's meet went well. Cute pictures!

Tina- I loved the fabric for the skirt so cute wish I could sew.

Debbie& Laura- Have a blast enjoy your time away.

Cammie- Poor Lauren. I feel like she is living what I lived when I grew up. My father just didn't have a clue and it is only now as an adult he realizes what he did to me when I was younger and it's only because I told him. Lauren will get to that point and tell him how she feels. I am sure she is just glad she has you to talk too.

Well girls I think I am going to take a shower just to hop back into bed. Luca got his big boy bed so Mike will be busy setting that up.

Morning ladies! Yesterday was a LOOOOOOOONG day for us. Up at 5am, out the door by 5:45 - stop for breakfast at McD's, then on to the swim champs. We got there a little before 7am, set up our chairs and cooler under the tent our team had set up. Warmups began at 7 but of course half our team strolls in with their parents at 7:30, etc. Drives me insane!

At about 7:30 we found seats on the bleachers and looked up to see the sun rising directly in front of us. By 8am we were all completely miserable!!! The sun was beating on us, reflecting off the water and the metal bleacher seats. I honestly think it was the hottest I've been in a long time. Brutal!

When Ally wasn't racing, we would go sit under the tent with other parents from our team and it was at least 10 degrees cooler. But then I felt bad, so I'd go back to cheer on the other kids.

Ally swam the 100 free relay, and she swam first there. She had the 2nd best qualifying time for our team in freestyle and backstroke. So actually, she was seeded with equal times in her heats. That was the bad part though. Because instead of a regular meet, when she was winning all those heats, this time they were so evenly matched. I think she would have won backstroke heat but she hit the ropes twice and of course that slowed her down. She still bested her time by 1/2 a sec there.

Then in her freestyle heat, she thought there was a false start, so she came up like she was stopping, then realized there was no false start, so she lost at least a second there. Oh well, she did fine and we're already looking forward to next year.

We have the smallest team in the league. I think we have 37 kids on our team, and one team in the leage has 140!!!! So when we have to pick 4 girls to swim the 8 and under relay, we literally have 6 girls to choose from! And the two big teams in the league are mean. Seriously, they do nothing but complain and just be nasty when they came to our place to swim. So there are three coaches, including ours, who are going to the league to demand that these two big teams divide in half. Either that or put a max limit on the teams' size. I of course have divided the teams into the Allies, and the Axis of Evil.

I forgot my camera yesterday, but I took some pics from my phone and posted on facebook. When Ally would get nervous before her next event, I would show her all the support she got on fb and that pumped her up.

So after the meet, we went to lunch, they are probably still trying to get our stink out of that place! Then home to nap and get ready for couples golf last night. Had a blast there then over to friends' house for a few drinks. Home by 11 though as we were all tired from meet!

Sorry to ramble so much about the meet!!!

Kara sounds like you had a busy, but fun day. I love those days during the summer when you just have so much fun and then crash when it's time for bed. I feel like I used the day well. :thumbsup2

Well plan plan planning away have nothing better to do. I have to say I cannot wait for this vacation. I need it!

Luca slept in his big boy bed last night I joined him and tonight he goes it alone. I need my sleep. Any tips or tricks?

Good morning peeps!:)

Another nice summer day here. Amanda and I had a lovely evening last night. Went over to some friends house to hang by the pool and enjoy some appys. One bad thing though - I was eaten alive by mosquitos! I sprayed Amanda but forgot about myself! :headache: I was so incredibly itchy last night!

Lauren comes home this afternoon. She's been texting me non-stop. Said the Yankee game was fun; but that' about it. :sad2:

Jillian - How are you feeling today? Congrats on Luca being in a big boy bed! :yay: I really don't have any advice; never really had a problem with Lauren sleeping in one. Got to ask though - is the bed up against the wall? I remember we had Lauren's bed like that and just bought one set of bedrails to ensure she wouldn't roll out of the bed onto the floor. Her second night in the bed, I went in to check on her and she had gotten herself wedged between the bed and the wall!:scared: She was fine; not even crying but I did go out and purchased another bedrail to put on that side. Just something to keep in mind.

Have a good one girls!

Cammie- I'm OK Luca went with my dad and so I got up and started cleaning and cooking you know too much but the guilt of a mother not having things clean tidy and homecooked. :sad2: Well I am officially on extended bed rest. I am sick of being in bed :headache:

Pam, I don't know where this year has gone - I remember all the "Friday Night Lights" from last year, and you're almost there again! Have fun with th school shopping.

Kara - congrats to Ally! I tried to post on FB yesterday, but my laptop kept messing up. You are having a really fun weekend! I thought the skulls started coming out around the time of the last POC movie, but I bet they're Goth. I didn't even realize how crazy those kids dress until recently. :scared1:

Tina, waiting for pics of the skirt! I hope your BGF does well by herself with the baby. Sounds like her guy won't be around much.

Jillian! Get back to Bed! It will take longer to heal and get busy with that baby if you don't rest! My boys both went to bed fine in their big boy beds, then ended up in bed with us sometime during the night. We never noticed until morning - we would just move over and try to keep sleeping. They grew out of it at about 10. We moved alot and Jim was overseas alot, so we just figured they needed the security. My pediatrician said he had a "family bed" too and it was fine. I'm not suggesting that - just made me think of it:goodvibes Mark and Lindsay lay down with Myles and Londynn until they fall asleep. I know everyone finds their own method.

Laura, I thought you were at the lake this weekend?

Cammie, I'm glad Lauren's mouth is okay. I know, sometimes I think docs do try to come up with reasons to refer back and forth. I'm glad you had a nice pool day with Amanda! Okay, what happened with the JB concert? I was thinking something might go down, because he knew how important it was to you.

Hi to everyone else! Hope you're having a great Sunday!
