We used to have a Sesame Street album at my dance studio with a song called "A Very Simple Dance". I tried replacing it with a CD years ago, but was unable to find it. Every time I do another Sesame Street dance with my students I remember this song. I would love to find a copy of it.

Has anyone ever heard of it or remember it. It has to be over 30 years old. Probably one of the original "dance songs" they did when Sesame Street first started.

I know some of lyrics went:

First you clap your hands
Stomp your feet
Turn around
Touch your toes
Pull your ears
Flap your arms
Stretch up high
And all fall down
It's a very simple dance to do

Anyone know where I might be able to find this relic?

I have a vague recollection of it, especially the last line.

I think I might even remember the tune of that line.

I remember that song! It was on Ernie and Bert's Sing Along. We had the record and must have driven my parents crazy with how often we listened to it.

Wish I could help you find it now, but I have no idea where to find it these days. I don't think Ernie and Bert's Sing Along is still out.

No help here. But I'm looking for Big Bird singing the ABC song and can't find it. Maybe if you get an answer, I'll get one, too.

You know the one - he says the word ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ -"Ab cadef gee jeckel mehnop kri stuve wick sez - it's the most remarkable word I've ever seen. Ab cadef gee jeckel mehnop kri stuve wick sez, I wish I knew exactly what it means. It starts out like an 'A' word, as anyone can see. But somewhere in the middle it gets awful queer to me!"

Where oh where is that song???

Knowing the name of the album might help me though. I couldn't even remember that.

Thanks.

Anyone else?

Okay this is on a video I have.. let me go find it..

It's on one of the DVDs: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=5639322

I remember the song because my mom told me when I was about 3 she found me in front of the TV trying to clap my hands, stomp my feet, turn around, etc...and she didn't want me to realize she'd come into the room because it was so funny. :)

Thanks so much.

BTW - I'm sure you would have done great in my preschool dance class!!!!
