We'll be in Orlando over New Year's Eve. It is also my SIL's birthday. We've been thinking of going to an onsite restaurant (Narcoossee's, Citricos, Artist Point or something along those lines). But we're also not opposed to going to a really nice restaurant outside of the world.

We'll be staying in a rental home in Formosa Gardens. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I like all the places you mentioned:thumbsup2

Offsite, though:confused3

You can do Emeril's at City Walk in Universal or his new place, Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort..

For a real treat and assuming that you like steak and wine, drive to Tampa and eat at Bern's Steakhouse.

Kissimmee also has a wonderful steak and seafood restaurant: Charlies.

If you like great steaks, especially, you might want to give it a try. They also have gigantic lobster tails there as well.

Seasons 52 On Sand Lake is AMAZING! We try to go there at least once a month. Last time we were there we saw Tiger Woods so that was an extra treat:)

We also love Villa de Flora at the Gaylord Palms Hotel. Everyone that we bring there loves it and asks to go again when they visit.

Tu Tu Tango on I Drive is a lot of fun, great atmosphere.

The Melting Pot on Sand Lake is also a great place, kind of expensive to have to make your own food, but fun!

We tried Del Friscos for the first time and had a wonderful meal, great waitstaff, loved the restaurant itself. Reminded me of Hollywood in the 40's.

My dad rents a house in Formosa Gardens every year and these places are all pretty close except for Del Friscos which is a little farther.

Roy's on Sand Lake is OUTSTANDING. While not upscale in the sense that of Victoria & Albert's restaurant, it is easily on par with the Disney restaurants you mentioned, and blows these away with its quality. The tuna there was, honestly, one of the best things I have ever put into my mouth. I cannot say enough good things about it. They fish are caught the night before, then flown in from Hawaii each morning, so the fish that you eat that night was alive that same morning.

Reservations are strongly recommended; on the night we went there, the wait was 3 hours for walk-ups.
