HI,

my husband and i are looking for a different place for breakfast one day out of our trip in oct.. we usually will eat at the resort, something quick like bagels or cereal. i really don't want to do a charater breakfast, just something really yummy! we were at the animal kingdom lodge last year and i made the mistake of looking at the room service menu for breakfast, and have been thinking about the stuffed bananna french toast since then!

thanks for any info!

There's a fairly new restaurant called Fresh at the Dolphin that's gotten very good reviews. They have a breakfast and lunch buffet. Go to allearsnet.com and check out the menu. We'll be trying it out when we go in August.

Spoodle's at the Boardwalk has a very good breakfast. We always go at least once each trip.

Kona Cafe at the Polynesian serves a nice breakfast, too. They have the banana stuffed french toast.

I know you said you prefer not to do a Character meal....but, my husband's and my favorite breakfast is Crystal Palace. Here's why:

*the food has always been delicious
*the atmosphere is beautiful
*the character interaction is fun, but not overwhelming. The last time we dined there, we only got quick pictures and hugs, which was sweet.
*walking down Main Street before park opening is a wonderful experience.
*it get us into the Magic Kingdom before the rest of the crowds.

Even when we don't bring our four children, we always schedule a breakfast at the Crystal Palace for the day(s) we are at the MK.

Here are our favorites:

Buffet--Boma and Maya Grill

Table Service-Kona, Boatwright's, Olivias
Tho we haven't been in awhile, I hear Spoodles also serves up a pretty good breakfast.

We did Fresh in April... It was excellent.. You will be very full! You can then walk it off walking accross the Boardwalk and into EPCOT or walk to MGM (You can take the boat too.. We just enjoyed the walks a lot!)

Our favorite is Kona at the Poly. They have the best coffee anywhere in WDW, and the Tonga Toast (banana-stuffed french toast) is wonderful! They also have great eggs benedict! ::yes::

We always enjoy Spoodles and the Kona Cafe. Spoodles has excellent frittatas, plus they always treat you like you're their only customer. Enjoy!

I agree with the Kona Cafe. I ordered the Big Kahuna and it was big! You get alot of food for the money.

FRESH, FRESH, FRESH...

Funny how a few posters already mentioned it! We are WDW regulars and this breakfast is now at the top of our list (for lunch too!)

It is a buffet style restaurant but the food is made to order. And, they will try to accomodate special requests.

For breakfast they'll make made to order omelettes, a variety of pancakes, waffles, french toast, apple stuffed french toast. Their bacon is crispy and they have specialty potatoes and a few other side items.

They have a huge selection of pastries, crossiants and breakfast breads. They have a nice selection of fresh fruit and there is yogurt and granola available. They have specialty health drinks made from fruits and veggies or just the normal "fresh squeezed" oj that is just great!

We tried this breakfast in Feb. for the first time and we went back twice this trip (last week). We had breakfast here and brunch. They serve brunch on the weekends from 11:00ish until 2 which means they have both breakfast and lunch items available. During the week I think they serve breakfast until 11 and lunch starts at 11:30.

They had this amazing, "melt in your mouth" beef tenderloin at brunch last Saturday!:earseek:

I so HIGHLY recommend Fresh for breakfast or lunch or the best of both worlds, brunch! Don't miss it!

We had breakfast at Fresh during our Jan. trip and really enjoyed it. I'll jump on the Fresh bandwagon.

Not only a fantastic breakfast buffet, but without a doubt the best value in Disney! Adult buffet is 9.99, 5.99 for kids. Food is very good, service was great, and the atmosphere of FW is so relaxing. We love going here on our MK day. We leave a little earlier, head to the MK, take the boat to FW, eat breakfast, and then head back to the MK.

They have the best doughnuts I've ever had...they make them fresh on the premises.

Can't say enough about the Trails End!

GF Cafe

I think it would be the perfect way to start off your MK day. Have a relaxing breakfast in an elegant setting and then monorail off to the MK. The food and service is top notch too.::yes::

Kona and Boma for non character breakfasts. Our favorite character breakfast is 1900 PF. In fact, 1900 PF may be our favorite breakfast of all.

thank you everyone for all your replies!! i can always count on the boards to help me out!

looks like we will choose from kona, spoodles or fresh. so far, fresh sounds like it was like by everyone who has gone..

Our 2 favorites are Kona Cafe at the Poly & Fresh at the Dolphin resort. Fresh is a Buffet and Kona is a menu restaurant.

Here's another vote for Kona. I had a solo breakfast here last fall when dh was playing golf - took the WL bus to the TTC and LOVED the walk over through the Poly grounds. There was a mob scene for O'hana, but almost no one at Kona at 8 AM. The coffee was SUPERB - how I wish I could have some this AM. The Tonga Toast was worth ordering just to see what everyone on the boards raves about. It would have been nice to share an order with someone and balance it out with a less carb-laden dish. That's my plan for next time! Excellent friendly service - I think you'll love Kona.
