Family is looking for someone who needs to rent points for January 03. We are on a tight budget and have to bring a sitter. Can points be purchased in the $6 range or is that junk.
Thanks,

You might get a better price for renting that many points but $6 is low balling it.

You should also decide which DVC you would be interested in staying.

If someone is willing to rent the points for $6/pp, can you consider me too? I am going in Feb. :bounce: :bounce:

You should post the resort, dates and villa size you will want.

Since you won't be renting ANY points, but actually a reservation made with points, the information above is what a member needs in order to check availability. Points themselves are useless to anyone but a DVC member. They can't be held, looked at or photographed- they may only be used to make a reservation by the member who has them in his/her account.

Good Luck!

Are you sure that renting the points is the most reasonable way to cruise?

If there is anyone out there that needs to rent out points, please let me know. I would like to find out how much it would take to book this. Like the current amount of points. I have used the 2000-2001 point scale and couldn't find a more current and the amount someone will rent the points for.

Thanks for your advice.

We just figured out and want verification of this. We are wanting to take 3 adults, a 5 year old and an infant on the cruise. My calculations come to 609 points for the catagory 4 room we would have to purchase.

If these calculations are correct, purchasing points at $10 each would yield no savings over the standard purchase price. Also, booking direct on Disney Cruise, you can bow out up to a very close window before the cruise takes place.

I am wanting a good value and was hoping there was someone with enough points to cover it and cheap enough to make it worth my while for my risk. Guys, let me know if there is someone willing to work with me.

Thanks, Todd

Good luck with your search.

I believe that the points are valued at around 12.50 a piece and was discounting them by almost $1,000.

Using points to cruise is an inherent disadvantage to the DVC member and therefore to any renter. To ge them cheaply enough to make renting DVC for a cruise or any other exchange option is unlikely. If you want the cruise, you're better off paying cash. I'd agree, you are low balling as any points likely to be that cheap are also likely to expire in just a few months making a cruise exchange difficult to arrange on that short of notice.
