lodge rooms near villas?

Help! We've purchased DVC pts and are booked in the VWL for Feb 3-8th. Now we have friends that will be purchasing package & meeting us at Disney. Which rooms in the lodge are closest to the villas? Is that the north wing? What about 1st floor in the wing closest to villas? Would that make it easier for our kids to run back & forth?

That would be the South side of the Lodge. While the first floor rooms would be convenient these rooms are Courtyard Views and if I was spending the money I would want the Inner Courtyard View not one facing Hidden Springs Pool or the Villas. They are close, but separate buildings. For the kids to run "back and forth" they will have to go down in the elevator and cross over to the other building. To literally go back and forth both families would have to be on the first floor and leave your patio door open. You would still have to cross over to the other building.
