LL Premier Pass is here!

Just something to keep in mind though... This almost certainly will result in more people using LL overall. At this price point you would think it wouldn't be many, but Disney did not launch this with the intent of selling a couple dozen a day. They will make it work.

And if more people are using LL's overall, that means either longer wait times in the LL's (probably unacceptable given the price tag for premier), or other adjustments will be made to the "standard" multi pass. Things like fewer sold (Disney won't like that) or fewer passes available during the day. They could also add LL to even more attractions that don't need it, just to they can increase the number of passes available.

I don't pretend to know exactly what the impact will be, but there will be an impact.

I don’t think it will add to lines, theoretically, the people who purchase premier pass, would have likely purchased LLMP or LLSP anyway. It’s the same number of people using LLs, just a small percent of them don’t have to make reservations.

This is an absolute "hell-no" from this camp. We went this summer and had absolutely no issue getting ANY ride at ANY time. Why in the world would I ever pay 2 - 3x the cost of my already-purchased ticket to ride the same rides I have ridden 900 times for "free"? Disney has lost the plot.
Honestly, I might seriously consider it for our trip next time, for the simple reality that it would make touring the whole park sooo much easier. No touring Plan. No running back and forth all over the park. Do one area, then move onto the next in a logical pattern. I won't have to look at my phone all day trying to see what LL I can score next. That is what I love about the Express Pass. Universal was a breath of fresh air after years at Disney; it was just so easy in comparison. It is worth it to me for my piece of mind.

A Week at a Deluxe hotel - $6800

Airfare - $1600

Park Admission for a family of 4 - $2800

LLPP for a day - $1520

4 Egg Sandwiches from Cake Bake Shop - $92

Telling your kids Santa isn't coming this year - PRICELESS

To be very real though there is no shortage of people who either have money or will spend money they don't, in order to enjoy themselves at Disney World. And Disney knows this. People will use this service just like they will pay for Deluxe activities and expensive character meals and expensive light sabers and expensive sugary drinks with barely any alcohol in them etc... I don't think they care about optics anymore they realize where their bread and butter are and are going after it without tip-toeing around.

Fun fact: Bread and butter at Cake Bake Shop is like $18!
If I knew about the change I would have shortened my trip saving $7k to pay for the pass during Christmas/NYEE. Deluxe resorts are more in the $1,100 range per night during holidays (when the pass is most needed).

Part of the issue most of us who already have trips booked and payed for is the lack of communication and the inevitable increase that is to be expected in LLMP prices (recent trends have been new product introduction followed by LL price increases).

There is no email or anything for those of us who have deluxe resort trips booked.

Honestly , I would have saved thousands using this when we did our big trip a couple of years ago. The reason why we took fifteen days there was the opportunity to try to fit everything in while not driving myself into the ground. Could have easily cut a few days out and saved $$. Hotels were more expensive than these passes.

Yes, I loved rope drop when I had a kid who woke me up at 6 a.m. every morning for years. Now my youngest is in high school and we would all be very unhappy waking up early on vacation.
Exactly! I don't want to get us all up earlier on vacation than we have to get up for school/work. I know Disney isn't a relaxing vacation. But getting up and out the door every day for rope drop makes it even less so. I can handle all the walking and all that, but I'd much rather sleep in and stay late to do it.

lol, you aren't mathing right (or so I tell my husband) You have to use Disney math.
A week at a deluxe hotel-"Free" bc DVC
Airfare- Free because southwest credit card points and companion pass
Park admission-Free because Disney visa points and gift cards I've bought for 10-12% off during the last year.
Food- paid for with DVC discount and discounted gift cards already paid for = basically free bc Disney/girl math
So really, I'm just paying for LLMP or whatever.
My husband loooooves my math lol

Bless their hearts, S T R E T C H I N G the truth. :rotfl:

50 attractions etc combined in the THREE PARKS. Since they are trying to sell 3 park packages right now to get in to EPIC, yes you'll get access to 50. But there are not 50 in EPIC.

I hate that they consider Volcano Bay a 3rd park. It is a VERY VERY nice water park, but it is a water park ... not a theme park.
Not sure that they are stretching the truth. Read it again. It doesn’t say 50 attractions it says 50 attractions and entertainment and dining and shopping. If you add in shopping including carts, and dining including carts, and entertainment including shows, fireworks, parades, and any street entertainment, it will probably be 50 things.

They don’t come close to selling out at MultiPass/Genie+ prices, except on days the parks practically close for capacity. What makes you think they would sell out their capacity at almost 10x the price?

Math. Disney expects the average user of LLMP to utilize 3-5 LLs. Once someone purchases a LLPP they will probably at least double that in the Magic Kingdom. Now a person who used 5 reservation spots is using 10 or more. Every Premier Pass easily becomes the equivalent of selling two Multi Passes. If Disney likes what they see and pursue a Premier Pass mode seriously we will probably see more sell out days because they'll have to limit the amount of people overall as the average amount of rides people use lightning lanes for goes up.

It's interesting that there's not a park-hopping version of LLPP. Will WDW allow a person to purchase PPs at 2 or more parks for the same day? I wonder. Although for several parks, maybe the PP is starting to compete with VIP tours, depending on the size of your group.

I feel like that will come at some point.

It may be that they are just doing a very slow roll on this at first, to see what the level of buy-in will be and make sure it is not too disruptive to the existing LLMP and standby queues.

Irony is if Disney advertised that the Animal Kingdom Park had 150+ attractions, entertainment and food ... which they easily could do, people would call them out.

I get it, they are painting a wide brush to make if appear as if there is way more to do there when most of it involves shopping & eating, aka spending more money. I have no issue with that but they do this to deflect from there will be minimal "rides" and that lines will be very long ... this will be a popular park and hopefully it does not disappoint.

Please move the discussion back to LLPP and away from how other parks advertise their offerings. Discussion of what other parks offer as an 'X Pass' is relevant and okay to be discussed, just not how it is advertised. How it is advertised is not relevant to LLPP discussion.

Complete cash grab and ripoff! Not all day access, but to be able to ride each one once. What a joke!!

My FIL said years ago that Disney is headed in the direction to cater to the rich.
I don't understand the "cash grab" accusations.

Disney is not tapping into your bank account and taking money.

They are offering a third tier of line-skipping that slots in between the LLMP and VIP tour.

And it's 100% optional.

Honestly my family was almost to the point of being done with disney for the opposite reason to most. The level of planning that needed to go into the vacation there is insane. I realize the average cost my family spends on annual vacations far exceeds the average family. But at this point I am willing to pay a lot more to have a simpler experience. VIP tours do not appeal to us because you are trying to cram everything into 1 day. I don't want to have to wake up at midnight to make a restaurant reservation. I don't want to wake up at 6 for ride reservations to maximize my day. I don't even want to have to rope drop any more just to make sure I get on the big ride. And most of the time, I don't want to on a ride more than once. I want to start at Tomorrow land after strolling in at 10, calmly ride everything there with little waits, then move onto the next adjacent area. This sounds closest to that!

Something like this would honestly save me thousands. Since I won't be running through the park so much, I won't need to have as many rest days. That in turn means less resort days. At the price point of the deluxe resorts, 4 days saved about balances out.

A great explanation of why this offer is a welcome change for some. It's not for all but it's available for those who wish to use it. Glad it will help your family!

I hear ya. In the old days you did not have to plan everything with military precision. You went where and when you wanted. Paper FastPass helped speed the line if you wish, but you had to be in the park and at the attraction to get one. (I really miss it). On our last trip we decided to go back to the old ways. We only planned the first ride of the day at rope drop. We are getting older and slower, so we just slowed our roll. Only after doing a ride did we look at wait times and decide on what to do next. Only rode standby, just took in the vibe and relaxed. We hit every attraction that we wanted. Anxiety level was close to 0. This was during the first week of December.

That kind of trip is only possible if 1) you decide to be flexible 2) you stay long enough to make multiple park trips and 3) Don't get a huge case of FOMO.

To help out we do the after hours things like the Christmas party and DVC Moonlight Madness. We did use Touring Plans to make a sample itinerary, but it was only used as a starting point, not a campaign plan of attack.

Will we use LLMP or LLSP, NO. I hate looking at my phone all the time and rushing between attractions and keeping to a schedule raises my anxiety level. Might as well stay at work!

Will we use LLPP, maybe..... We do like the no schedule thing. We are going in May so I'm sure there will be a lot of discussion on these boards by then. So who knows.

Of Course YMMV.
