LL Premier Pass is here!

I must admit that when I first read about LLPP and the price, it was "Not for us! Too expensive!" But now as I contemplate navigating MK with a 20 month old, I'm coming around to the idea that it might be a worthwhile splurge for one day, as opposed to the complexities of booking LLMP and LLSP and trying to create a logical itinerary. I'm looking forward to finding out what the actual prices are.

I thought there were LL drops throughout the day still for some of the rides. I admit I have not used the new version yet myself so am not very knowledgeable. I can see the benefit of the premier pass not having to be tied to your phone constantly refreshing trying to get what you want. Makes it less stressful for sure.
Here’s the thing, instead of hoping it all works out, you can just pay to guarantee the experience you want. Clearly that comes at a premium, but if there is one place people would pay for that guaranteed day…

Math. Disney expects the average user of LLMP to utilize 3-5 LLs. Once someone purchases a LLPP they will probably at least double that in the Magic Kingdom. Now a person who used 5 reservation spots is using 10 or more. Every Premier Pass easily becomes the equivalent of selling two Multi Passes. If Disney likes what they see and pursue a Premier Pass mode seriously we will probably see more sell out days because they'll have to limit the amount of people overall as the average amount of rides people use lightning lanes for goes up.

As long as there is a demand, and capacity in the LLs to satisfy it, I can’t fault Disney for trying to sell it. Right now there is excess capacity to sell in the LLs, so why not?

The question will be, if there’s enough demand for the premium product to fill LL capacity, which tier of product will they raise the prices on? They’re not selling out MultiPasses at current prices, so that would be difficult. That leaves Premium Pass. If it’s a hot enough seller to fill the LLs at the pilot price, then that is the prime candidate for a price hike. I think we can expect prices of PPs to go WAY up if the demand gets to the point of sell-outs, and MultiPasses to rise only somewhat.

Regarding Multi Pass, Disney says that half their guests are purchasing the standard product right now. Apparently the ability to skip at least some lines seems to be adding to overall guest satisfaction a lot, or people would not be buying it. I really doubt Disney wants to start taking that away, especially since there has been some form of accessible line skipping available for over ten years and guests expect it. They do want enough guests purchasing LL Passes to fill the physical LLs, which is not happening now most of the time. If adding a top tier does that, then I can’t blame Disney a bit.

So, What percentage of park visitors do we think will be purchasing the PP? I will be interested to hear that stat when it comes out. I really have no idea, but judging by this thread, maybe more than I would have previously thought.

Honestly my family was almost to the point of being done with disney for the opposite reason to most. The level of planning that needed to go into the vacation there is insane. I realize the average cost my family spends on annual vacations far exceeds the average family. But at this point I am willing to pay a lot more to have a simpler experience. VIP tours do not appeal to us because you are trying to cram everything into 1 day. I don't want to have to wake up at midnight to make a restaurant reservation. I don't want to wake up at 6 for ride reservations to maximize my day. I don't even want to have to rope drop any more just to make sure I get on the big ride. And most of the time, I don't want to on a ride more than once. I want to start at Tomorrow land after strolling in at 10, calmly ride everything there with little waits, then move onto the next adjacent area. This sounds closest to that!

Something like this would honestly save me thousands. Since I won't be running through the park so much, I won't need to have as many rest days. That in turn means less resort days. At the price point of the deluxe resorts, 4 days saved about balances out.
I’m with you on this one. We’ve owned DVC for 25 years and have had decades of amazing family vacations. But our groups are smaller now and I’m frankly done with being the planner as it’s simply too much stress for one person given how complicated it has become (and I LOVE planning!) . And being a night owl, getting up at 7 AM every day on vacation for the attraction “hunger games “ was also not fun for me at all.

I could see myself using this maybe one or two days per trip for the right travel party, and especially if on a shorter trip. Did the VIP tour once for special treat with a bunch of 20-somethings and 30-somethings in our family. It was pretty cool, but a very long day, and definitely at a higher price point than LLPP.

My initial reaction was I’d never use something like this. The no planning aspect though, makes this tempting depending on the makeup of the party.

This is my opinion, would I get it every trip, Nope. Depends on the makeup of the group! Some I could easily go be no issue with not even needing LL in general or just rough planning. However, with my DH coming on our next trip who doesn't particularly like Disney and crowds and has some health issues (He's also a bit grumpy. :rotfl2: ), I am seriously considering using this if it goes beyond the pilot testing. We are already staying in a qualifying hotel if they keep things the same. I am curious what the final version will be once the test is done.

Maybe!

I'm sad to admit that I wasn't quick or savvy enough to grab any of these LL during my 40+ days of Genie+. I haven't used the new LLMP version though.

Any insight to have fast this will sell out? Usually we vip but given how expensive guides have gotten, this seems like good option. Just worried if only stay 3-4 days over holiday those staying longer will get the jump and premier wont be available.
We have no idea how many of these they'll sell or how popular they'll end up being. Best bet is to see how it plays out as it goes on sale.

For all those who said Disney should do an expensive line skipping system like Universal, here you go. Now please “put your money where your mouth is” and let us know what you think of this new option. 😊
We will buy it next time we visit. I think it's a great option. Would even be better if the regular version went away. Keeps the LL waits then.

We (me and DS18) will be there the week it debuts. Im going to get it for Oct 30 and 31st. It will be interesting to see if it sells out and how fast. This is a great option for me. I have a disability that makes navigating the return times on LLMP/LLSP hard. I do have DAS too but it has its own issues and I really hate doing that chat call. If this works well, which I’m sure it will and sticks around, which I hope is does, than I won’t have to apply for DAS anymore.

Looking forward to hearing how you like it once you’ve tried it! I think it’s a great additional option to the regular system. Curious, if this system gives you what you want (every attraction with low wait) why would you care if the regular system is left in place for those that want it?

I don’t think it will add to lines, theoretically, the people who purchase premier pass, would have likely purchased LLMP or LLSP anyway. It’s the same number of people using LLs, just a small percent of them don’t have to make reservations.

There will definitely be some increase. For those just moving from regular to premier, they will now be able to use more LL's due to not having to schedule and due to not having tier restrictions.

And then there are people who don't currently purchase the regular version, not because of the price, but because it's a pain in the rear to manage.

How much of an increase is definitely an unknown, but there will definitely be an increase.

I think that @Jrb1979 did not want the unwashed clogging up the LL and slowing their usage of the LL return queue by 5-10 minutes. I could be wrong but that's how I read the @Jrb1979 's post.

Yes, but keep in mind that only deluxe resort and DVC guests can even qualify to purchase it. This article doesn’t good job of explaining.

That's only for the Pilot. We don't know if it will always be restricted to Deluxe Resorts and DVC guests.

Ah good point. Thank you. I did not realize that.

Either way I don’t see this having a significant impact on waits for those using standby or multipass. I could be wrong though we’ll have to see

You're right. It won't have an impact on standby or those who bought the unwashed version. If I'm spending the amount it costs for this I expect 5-10 minute waits. Having the unwashed version it's adds too many guests to this

Disney should do a free line skipping system like Universal deluxe resorts.

I'm waiting for Disney to roll out their version of the unlimited skip the line passes that Universal has. I'd gladly spend obscene amounts of money on that.

I like this version - will I buy it - no. Being from Australia everything is already 50% more due to the poor dollar, so adding AU$600 per person to a trip for a family of 4 per day is not happening. BUT we typically do two days in each park sometimes three, so we don't mind waiting in lines. I don't even get the regular LL or genie - never have and never will.
Once I got Max Pass at Disneyland and it was great, this was all before you could only ride attractions once.
If they got rid of that, I may see the value of it.

IMO this is the kind of pass they should have done at the beginning. Just like Universal, price it high or maybe give it to Deluxe Club reservations and that is the ONLY pass offered, make it for unlimited rides and you shouldn't have to pay for Rise etc on top of it either - that's just a blatant cash grab.
Keeps the lines moving, and everyone is happy!
