Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

I've got the app, I can crash it really easily though. But I like having it so that I can read up on what's happening while I'm waiting at football practice :)

Does anyone have the DISboard app? I just recently downloaded it and I'm completely addicted! I was already stalking the boards before I found the app - now I can read up every little Disney detail from my phone! My husband just laughs at my ocd over planning and researching every little vaca detail but he does seem to enjoy hearing the little updates I give him and details about the ship or the ports we'll be visiting.

I know it's silly but I get my bonus check this week and will be making my final pmt - I'm actually a bit geeked about it! We changed our plans so recently and it was a big deal to go from a 3 to a 7 nt so we've been busting our butts to make it happen.

We actually had planned on doing a cruise back in 2008 but had to cxl it just before 90 days. We did WDW vaca in it's place which was still lots of fun. I'm ready to change it up but still have Disney in the mix!

They only made the app for the iphone so far. I have an Android

WHAT???? I thought I read it was only for the iphone. Thanks. Off to Google Play to download.

My first post from the app. Thanks, Lori!

I just stumbled upon this site today hoping to find some info and recommendations on the excursions. Sorry but I haven't had time to read any of the notes here. We are Tom and Mary from Bloomington IL and we are taking our 9 year old girl, Madison. I am not sure of our room number and I think we have early dining. We have been to Disney many times and know how to "do Disney" ~ We love it! This will be our first Disney cruise and I don't know how to plan - yikes! Any help or advice would be appreciated! Do you all know what the best excursions are? I'm getting excited for the cruise! Mary

Welcome to the DIS and our merry group, glad you found us. I'll leave it to the cruisers with kids to recommend excursions.

If you would, click on the link in my sig and enter what information you have so far.

Hi Jodi - trying to figure out whats going on and wonder what the FE is? Thanks for your help! Mary

Hi everyone!

We justed booked our cruise yesterday to join you in Sept 2012. I'm Jodi, my DH is Justin, and our DD is Avery (8 at time of cruise). This will be Avery's first cruise, but she has been to WDW 3 times and loves it (of course!) She is still very much of a princess (and hopefully will be next year as well). Justin and I have been on a Norwegian cruise about 10 years ago, and I was on a Princess cruise for a work conference about 5 years ago.

Unsure if we will participate in the FE at this time. Still need to think about it a little bit more.

I will be celebrating my 40th birthday while on this cruise (Oct 2). Hoping that some family/friends will be joining us also. They are still undecided at this time.

Looking forward to "meeting" all of you over the next year!

Jodi

80 days! So excited! :hyper: Looking to see who is going with a DS age 10? Going to check out the kids thread now with DS!

FE is a gift exchange for cruisers. There is a "fish decoration" beside your cabin door. You hang a "fish extender" (which is a hanging fabric with pockets) and you receive little gifts from your friends on the cruise. Look at other posts on the fie boards about it. Others explain it better then me. You can find homehsnd fish extenders on stay (or you can make it if you are crafty)
My oldest daughter is almost the same age as your Madison. Samamtha is 8 and will turn 9 2 days after the cruise. We will have to get them together. There are lots of girls around their age on this meet thread.

If you Google :surfweb: "Fish Extender", you will find MANY sites that show hundreds of handmade FE's. There are even a few that offer step-by-step instuctions for making your own. If you don't sew or aren't very crafty, you can buy a handmade/personalized FE from any number of websites or you can buy a plain old generic pouch organizer. If you decide you'd like to participate in the FE gift exchange, there are also websites that offer ideas on what to give. pixiedust:
Welcome aboard! :jumping1:

Hi Mary, welcome to our little group. I have two daughters, my youngest, Courtney will be 9 on the cruise too. It seems there are quite a few girls in the 8-9 age range.

So fun! Love the name Courtney - We have a Courtney who is 27 years! Can't wait to meet you :) Mary

I'm thinking this would be fun! Where do we sign up ? This is great to hear about all the girls who are 8-10! Madison will be so happy!

I love this idea! Madison will be so happy to meet Samantha! Can't wait! Thanks for your note!

Well it looks like there are now VGT cabins now available for $1000 pp in September... not on our but on the other cruises... We paid more then that on for our 11c cabin... oh well still looking forward to the cruise.

I'm not surprised. I kept saying that our cruise did not look full, so we may yet see that too.

I think I'm really crazy. Judy and I were originally booked on the September 7th Canada cruise way back when, but switched to this cruise since I really wanted to try the Fantasy.. Well, today we got an offer we couldn't refuse (how New York) for DVC members and just booked a category 4A room back on the Magic. So now we have two cruises in September. Of course, being from New York, I don't have to worry about airfare for the Magic. How crazy is that?

Congrats! That would be amazing!!!

Well, I am finally pain in full. :cool1: We have an 11:00-11:30 arrival time at port. I am so excited I was able to get Palo dinner on my birthday! I plan to go the the MDR too to sit with the girls while they have dinner and the we can do my B-day celebration too. I booked Palo brunch too on Sunday. I have never done brunch but always hear how wonderful it is. I want to try it by dh doesn't really. I may go by myself if he really doesn't want to go. :lmao:

Are we going to have a meet on Saturday once onboard?
