Live365 shutting down

This is disappointing news. I am trying to check out d-cot.com, but I'm not sure how to listen to music. I'm logged in, but I don't see how to play music. Under "Jukebox", I can get a list of their tracks, but nothing is double-clickable. What am I doing wrong?

Mouse House Radio posted information about the new royalty fees and what we can all do to help fight for the small/independent webcasters:

In the meantime, I've been listening to a few of the stations on TuneIn Radio app (Mouse World Radio, Kungaloosh Radio and Sorcerer Radio are on there). So far, no subscription is needed and there haven't been many commercials...

On my Jukebox on D-cot, there is a list of songs available. I single click on a song and the controls pop up at the bottom. The are divided into several categories and I also have a favorite. I am a member and maybe you need to create an account first? I am currently listening to Horizons soundtrack...smjj

As @smjj stated, just log in and then select a playlist. From my iPhone, I tap the selection and the controls for that specific song pop-up at the very bottom of the screen.

So very sad they are going off line. I have been listening to this site for I don't know how many years. I love the fact that so many stations were in one place. If I didn't want to hear a song it was so easy to switch between stations on my favorites list. I hope something else becomes available exactly like this kind of set up. I don't want to have to keep switching websites. I am a member of Subsonic and D-Cot, but the variety of stations is the best on Live365.

I am just like you. I have found Tunein and it lets you have a favorites list and I have a lot of the Live365 stations now on there

My husband and I own and operate Mouse House Radio. We are now streaming on Shoutcast (as are several others) and also straight from our website. Shoutcast is probably the closest thing you will find to Live 365. No membership needed. Just type "Disney" in the search box and click on the station you want to listen to. We will be streaming until we absolutely can not afford it anymore. Hopefully that will not happen and we as well as many others, will be around for a long time yet.

Yours is one of my favorites and I have listened for quite a long time. Glad you are still broadcasting...smjj

Thank you

We appreciate our listeners. Even though I knew it was coming last night when Live365 pulled the plug there were still tears. It was a great run for 13 years. I sincerely hope we can stream for at least another 13.

Thanks for all the good years, and hopefully more to come, Jen.

A sad moment......

I listen to d-cot at work all the time. Especially on the weekends when I am there by myself.

Can't believe this. It explains why I couldn't listen this afternoon when I tried. I was so excited when I switched to TMobile last month and it was listed as one of the stations that counted as free data streaming. :guilty: So now I'll be looking around for a new station to listen to and I guess I'll try some of the ones listed here. I have an android device too.

So sorry, Jen. I listened to you guys a lot. I hope you never have to stop!

How do you get shoutcast on an iPhone? when I search the app store it gives me various radio tuners

I have been a VIP subscriber (listener) for several years now, but never got an email about going off air. So thanks, DISers for posting about this. I will look for the independent station's websites. I can't imagine being without my Disney music at my desk while I'm working. BTW, I did email them about a refund, and they responded with a refund amount. They did say it may take a little while to post my refund, with all the requests they will be getting. Really hate to see them shut down, though. Bummer.

Question for you - how long after you requested your refund were you contacted? I requested a refund 7 days and I've had no response. I'm sure they're overwhelmed at the moment so the actual refund may take some time, but I was hoping that my request would at least have been acknowledged by now.

Like you, I was a VIP subscriber for years and also did not get an email about them going off air. I read it here on the Dis.

I meant to include this with my last post and forgot, yours was the first and last channel / station that I listened to on Live365. :) I hope you'll be around for a long time too! :)

I am not sure shoutcast has an app for smartphones. However you can do a search for Stream Licensing and you can listen to Mouse House Radio via that app. I had it playing on my phone for a few hours this evening as I worked.

thanks. :) Me too!

Don't be surprised about not hearing from Live365 - many many broadcasters didn't even get an email. We didn't! I found out because a listener contacted me on our FB page asking me if we were moving to radionomy or somewhere else. It was not a pleasant way to find out. I read post after post after post from other broadcasters on the Live365 forum that they also had not received the email. I even went through my spam folder and - nothing.

Thank you

I, too, had tears as I listened "for the last time". So very sorry this is happening and I've said a few "short words" about the licensing fee. Absolutely ridiculous! :furious: :tink:

Does anyone know if Park Hopper Radio is going to stream anywhere else? I am so sad to see it go. They had full audio for so many rides, including old Spaceship Earth narration, Malestrom, and the old TTA narration. I've listed to that station for years, and I'm really hoping it will pop up somewhere else!
