Saturday 27.3.04......

I forgot to say yesterday that Mum & dad had visited a family friend 'Uncle Ed' in Sebring earlier in the week and had brought back loads of oranges and grapefruits from his trees. I ate one for breakfast (orange) and it was fantastic!

.....Hoever today we were off to Boma for brekkies....but not til 10 so that becky had plenty of chance to be ready on time!

True to form we were up at 6 am and in the pool (trying to be very quiet) and were soon joined by some of the family. Jamie loves the pool and is getting braver by the minute with his rubber ring

Becky was ready in plenty of time, in her shorts again, and off we drove to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Forgot to tell the others they needed to show ID so had a minor panic at the entrane gate but luckily theyd all been very sensible and brought their passports...phew!

Funniest moment was me not knowing how to wind down the car window and being laughed at by the guard!...doh!

It was manic in AKL, Ive never seen it so busy! Although we arrived before 10 and booked in, we still had to wait 25 minutes and we were all starving by the time we were seated. Mind you thats just as well with all that food!

If you havent tried Boma you really must. The breakfast buffet is superb! The fruit juice is lovely and the roast to die for Mark loves all the african food and Mum loved the setting as she lived in Africa for some years as a child. She's feeling good today and its lovely to see her normal sunny self back.

We all stuffed ourselves and then Mark took his sis, Stu & Jamie off to see the wildlife while we went to look in the shop. Then we all decided to go our separate ways.

Mum & dad went to AK for the day, their fave park and had a wonderful day they said. Mum cried thru The Lion King show, sat right at the front on her special throne Dad loves the safari and they saw all the animals this time.

STu brought Jamie back to the villa for the day as he was still tired and they spent time on the games & X box and in the pool, just chilling out.

Guess where Mark, Becky, Rebecca and I went?...yes shopping!! First Mark got me lost coming out of AKL and we ended up in EPCOT....dont ask! But we soon found our way (and I kept my cool) and headed off to festival Bay where we knew the newest Hot Topic had opened.

Arrived there easily, wow I love this driving lark! SPent ages in Hot Topic, eventually handing over $200 or so! We bought loads though, 2 pairs of trousers, several t shirts, tights, underwear, some cool 50's style glasses....and Tinkerbell flip flops for me! (I also got 2 pairs of Tinkerbell knickers in the sale for just 50 cents!!!!) Wed even got a 15% off discount card from our trip last May and used that to get loads of moeny off.....I love a bargain!

Into Ron Jons but was disappointed here as it was so much smaller than the Cocoa Beach one. Mark bought Becky some great 2 tone flip flops though. Checked out the Vans skate park too, looked fun.

Onto the Belz where we stopped at Nike, Timberland & Dickies, buying several tshirts for Mark. he loves shopping out here as they do XXL everywhere unlike the UK....and so cheap too!

Into the Belz Mall and Rebecca went into overdrive, buying 3 pairs of trainers amongst other things! She also bought loads of great bargains in the Disney Character warehouse. Mark got some Vans trainers and I of course bought a bag! Just $10 for a black Vans bag...great!

More tshirts in Pacsun and we were out and needing a drink...phew! It was after 4 pm by now and were flagging...but soon boosted by drinks. Found the Echo Red shop where Becky fell in love with a jacket...$70 though!!! persuaded her to wait til end of the holiday otherwaise shed have spent all her money!

Our last stop was george's music shop in IDrive. Becky was in a state of extreme excitement by now as she had lots of B'day money and had seen a new Bass guitar she wanted on the internet. Josh, the nice man in Georges chatted with her and she has ordered a lovely new Fender Jazz Bass in sage green! We also bought a case and will be transporting it back when we leave! It should come before we leave Orlando...here's hoping! She actually saved nearly 100.oo pounds even with the case and paying duty! great! Shes VERY happy!

Im exhausted by now, its after 5.30 and we need to get to the supermarket for BBQ food.

Lovely quiet drive home along the 535 (or is it 536??) and into Winn Dixie for chicken, shrimp, salad and steaks. Yum!

Everybodys had a wonderful day. Mark prepares all the BBQ while Stu heats it up. Rebecca and I get in the pool and chill...even Becky paddles! Wow! Its so refreshing after a long slog round the shops

BBQ is great....poor Jamie has fallen asleep on the sofa though before it starts!........food very yummy and the smirnoff ice goes down a treat! We even manage to stay up after 9.30 tonight and then its bed and dream of EPCOT tomorrow

Bye for now.........

Breakfast at Boma has become a first day tradition for us. I love that counter at the end with the pork loin, Bobotie, breakfast pizza, etc. Love the Fru-unch, too.

What's Hot Topic? From what you say, I assume there are others around. We stopped off briefly at Festival Bay again in January and we were disappointed with the size of Ron Jon's too - I thought it was going to be huge.

I was wondering about Becky's guitar when you mentioned George's at DD in yesterday's report. I'm hoping it turns up before you leave.

We really must try Boma's for breakfast :) We managed to get some Frunch at dinner time before and that was yum.

Boma for breakfast sounds fab - will need to try it on our next trip. Thanx for the great report.

Hot Topic is Beckys fave shop, they have branches at F Bay, Florida Mall as well as a couple others:) They're very Goth/punk/alternative and sell everything from clothes, make up, shoes, accessories etc:)

U get loads of great bargains only problem is getting them all home:teeth:

I love Hot Topic too :Pinkbounc I haven't tried Boma for breakfast yet altho I have tried their evening buffet and it was to die for. Will have to add Boma brekkie to my list of must dos
