jcalecpa, DD is 11...
what happend was Karen was in chat one nite and saying how her DD didn't want to go on the cruise for the same reason. I told her to have her DD e my DD and my cruise vet DD managed to get her turned around. They met the third member of the club on board and have been out of our hair and having a blast ever since.
We didn't plan an excursion for St. Maarten figuring we would just walk around and explore (to DW this means shop). She found a deal on a ring she had been looking for so I figured after beating the guy down I was safe. (we decided we would buy our christmas presents on the cruise)
We stopped for lunch at a sort of half local/half american taste resteraunt on the beach. DD and I walked down to the water while we were waiting and met the local wave runner rider and thought it might be fun to take a spin.
It was 40 dollars for 2 people for half an hour, much cheaper than an excursion. It always seems to me the throttle these things down or govern them for tourists.
NOT THIS TIME!!
This thing was a full blown Yamaha and it SCREAMED...
OMG we had so much fun it should be illegal!!! They gave us no instruction whatsoever except start here, throttle here..
It was just unbelievable!! I had never been on one of these things before and they just smoke!!
I did discover they have a rule about going too far into the open ocean... especially considering there was a pretty good surf.
My clue was one of the locals on a wave runner chasing us down

Either way it was a total blast..have I mentioned that yet???
