OK so I am confused on the staggered dining time thing. Does that mean that everyone whenever they dine at Lumieres goes at 5:45 or does that mean that your dining despite which restaurant begins at 5:45 every night? It seems like it would be hard to remember when you were supposed to show up if it varies throughout your week.

Could you also give us the schedule for nights for those of us trying to figure out for Palo ressies. I know it varied alot this summer on the west coast just wondering if they have changed this now that they are back.

We had the APL rotation. Our dining time was 5:45 every night..no matter which restaurant we went to.

HI Barb --

Glad you're on the Magic checking it out for us before our POST Turkey day cruise. Thanks for sharing the updates. With less than three weeks to go, I'm living on them! Looks like I'm bringing my laptop for our cruise. DH is not excited to pay the big $$ for the wireless, but it will be worth it.

Be safe! Have a great night!

I'm on board as well and just want all of you to know that my door is COVERED from top to bottom with pictures and 3-d mickey and a cruise ship that my daughter drew. It has not been removed. Plus we have seen other doors with signs on them.

We got to the port at 10:30 and received the #3. Our friends showed up an hour later and they had #9. So the number system is first come first serve.

Time to go back out in the sun!!!

Time for dining is the following:

1st 2nd
Lumiere's 5:45 8:00
Animator's Palater: 6:00 8:15
Parrot Cay: 6:15 8:30

Side note: We have 2 kids 10/6 and had the PC/L/AP rotation.
Thank you so much! I have been waiting FOREVER to get which rotation was with which staggered dining! That is great to know!

The staggered dining has three possibilities for main and late dining. You can request any of the three, but this doesn't apply to Animators. When the show starts you can't have people showing up 15 or 30 minutes after the show starts so the staggered dining doesn't apply to AP.

Makes sense! Thanks for that info too.
It looked like one poster said the LAP was at 5:45 every night, but then Bo'sMom said they had APL and was the 5:45 rotation...Do you think they change the times that the rotations are every cruise??

Hello guys, glad you are posting on the Magic this week...we go on 11/26 and I feel like we are on there already....anyway, I thought I posted this last night but cannot find it so I will ask again....does anyone know if Sasha Sakic is still on board....he is a waiter....we had him 3 times on the Magic and last year he moved up to Palos.....we were lucky enough to have him for dinner one night....the 3 hour endless dinner....cause you just have to try this....and this....and this....unlimited supply of food and good conversation....anyway, he is one of a kind and hopefully he is still there...if anyone knows for sure or could just ask....most everyone on board knows him....and we thank you....
Tom
P.S. Continue posting and have a great rest of your cruise...! :cool1:

thanks so much for the rotations! I am so anxious to see what we will end up.

A few quick thoughts:

Key West: LOTS of damage evident, but they were glad to see ships returning. The Tortuga Rum Cake lady said we were one of the first ships. We were in a spa villa looking down at the performers at sunset, and the crowds of onlookers were almost non-existent.

Wireless: There are two packages: $55 or $100. I think $100 is for four hours...I'm rapidly running out of time due to work, so we'll probably end up buying another block.

Random thoughts:
Although the Golden Mickeys is changed to the "new" version, with Whoopi Goldberg in the intro. instead of Roy Disney, the old version is still on the stateroom t.v.s. It was so nice to see that again; that connection to the "old Disney" was one of the things that used to make it my favorite show.

Hubby tried out the new hot tubs while I was in the spa. The fiber optic lights at night are very cool. He doesn't like the bubbling, but he loves the fact that the jets are adjustable.

We didn't go ashore in Grand Cayman; we just pretending it was an extra, lazy sea day.

The American buffet on the Magic is quite different than the Wonder's, but quite good. The fresh grilled sandwiches are excellent (goat cheese...yum!).

It feels a little weird to be on the Magic, but I'm lovin' it! I was a little sad that #50 will be on the Magic rather than the Wonder, but now I'm excited about the prospect of doing a 7-day for the big five-oh. It's gonna be hard to go back to three days (we sail on the Wonder again in a little over a week). Now off to see "Twice Charmed!"

Hi Barb,

Thanks for the updates. The last trip report on your website was for your trip #41. I really enjoy reading them but haven't found the latest ones. Will you be posting any more trip reports? Have a great time.
:wave2:

Will you be taking pictures of the changes made to the spa and posting them on your website when you return? I hope you are and have a great time.

Mhelsley, I posted pictures on another thread of the new couples villa. I also have pictures of the new fitness center. Both are very nice.

I think you are misunderstanding how the staggered dining works. If you have the APL rotation you have the 5:45 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. dining time. That goes for each restaurant each night. You dine at the same time. The people who have the PLA rotation dine at 6:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. every night (no matter which restaurant) and the ones on LAP have 6:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. each evening.
You do not have people arriving at the same restaurant at different times. Everyone dining at Lumiere's has the same dining time, same with the other restaurants. The staggered times are per dining room rotation.

How are the staggered dining times affecting the cabaret shows? Are they still offering a 7:45pm show between the meals and shows?

Thanks for the info!

We have tons of photos of the new spa areas, and also lots of the new show, "Twice Charmed" (no, we did NOT use a flash). I really like the villan Forunato's big number with a multi-colored light-up staircase!

Although I wrote trip reports for the missing Wonder cruises, I never finished them because it seemed redundant. But there will definitely be a long, detailed report from the Magic, especially considering that it's fresh out of dry dock! I've been working on it every night. :sunny:

Hey Barb! Hope you are having a great time! Are the menus the same as those you have posted on your website? If not, will you be posting the new ones when you get back?

Also, I know you're an iced tea lover too--fresh brewed and not out of the fountain--so do they have good iced tea on the Magic in the dining rooms and/or at the beverage station?

Thanks!

Donna

Good morning Barb.

If you have time (don't go to any trouble) could you possibly grab the different children's Navigators from your cruise. There aren't too many recent kids Navs on your website.

Thanks very much - can't wait to see your pics! Have a fabulous cruise. We're all 'Magic Dreamin' with ya. :hourglass
