I dunno Andrew. I am really having a difficult time relating to my new friends on the 10 day thread. Maybe I was just spoiled by all the Turkeys. Y'all are some real characters!

The feeling is contagious. Why do you think I'm being a pest, asking if/when everyone's next sailing (after 10-day) is? I just can't seem to get enthused posting on another cruise meets thread.

We all got along so well, its hard to make new friends. Our next cruise is Nov 25, 2006, and then the MED, if they offer it. If not, it will be back to Thanksgiving in 2007.

:Pinkbounc Well so far, it sounds as if Thanksgiving 2007 is a very good possibility for a 'reunion?' cruise. We're definitely looking into the Med as well.

How many takers here for the Med? (Provided it doesn't sail out of France :darth: )

Willie-You aren't the only one.Charlie hasn't even been on Thanksgiving 2006 thread. He keeps saying we are surely going to miss our Turkey friend cruisers.Yes,we were definitely all spoiled by all the turkeys!Long live 2005 Thanksgiving Cruise!

Maria

Ya know, I gotta agree.....the last 4 years we spent Thanksgiving at WDW and on DCL. The only way I would "reconsider" for 06 would be to go East.....DDs and DW are TOTALLY unimpressed with the West. Although 04 GC was destroyed and 05 we missed both GC and Cozumel and Costa Maya altough nice to educate ourselves with another culture....did NOTHING for me....the girls still talk about shopping in St. Maarteen (me getting a heinekin with every purchace) and the tram ride in St. Thomas......

Lampy

We would love to have you on the Tryptophan Cruise 2006 to the East, if the Christmas Cruise doesn't work. That includes everyone that is on the xmas cruise.

Ron- I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly here. Are you suggesting that is is unusual for a bartender to remember YOU? :rotfl2:

DD Hayley will have surgery Thursday to repair a dislocated kneecap. We were out at the soccer field last night doing some extra work, and she twisted it and went down. It has been bothering her awhile, so going to get it repaired. She is really ticked off because she is just finishing a very good basketball season(27-3), and made the varsity soccer team as a freshman. Now she is done til next season.
This is the first significant injury that either kid has ever had in years of sports, so I guess we were overdue!

Willie:

Let Hayley know that she is in our thoughts and prayers. She's young, she will be back on her feet in no time.

We are sorry to hear that Willie. That really stinks that she won't be able to finish the season! She is in our thoughts and prayers!

Maria

Willie- I am really sorry to hear about the injury to your DD. We will be praying for a speedy recovery.

TCD

Hayley is in our thoughts and prayers, too. How frustrating it must be to have so much stamina and energy, and then have that happen. (She'll also probably recover in half the time anyone our age would. :) )

Priscilla

Thanks for the prayers and sentiments, guys. I passed them along to Hayley. She has really taken it pretty good. Better than her "Soccer Mom"!

It is amazing the things they can do with the orthoscope. When I was a kid, this would have been major stuff. Now there are very small incisions and the recovery time is much better. Just a lot of physical therapy.

Anybody ever take a summer vacation at Gulf Shores, Alabama? We are returning there this July 4th week to the Beach Club Resort. A very nice place.

Where is everyone going this summer?

Dubbya- We will be just a little to the East of you at the exact same time this summer! We have rented a house in Seaside, Florida for the last 8 or 9 summers, almost always for the first two weeks of July. There are a lot of folks from Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Lousiana who vacation there too. We live near some of the best beaches in the nation, but we really love the Florida Panhandle, and Seaside in particular. We usually park the car, and walk or bike wherever we have to go for two weeks. I make it my personal goal to not wear long pants or shoes for the two weeks, and except for occasionally having to put on a pair of flip flops, I have been able to stick to it. Check out their website at seasidefl.com. The only thing that has us concerned is that the beaches got hit hard by hurricane Dennis last July, right in the middle of our vacation.

So, we will only be a couple hours apart this summer. Maybe we can meet up? I won't tell Lampy.

Andrew,
It looks like Seaside is only about 70 miles from Pensacola. We will be about 45 miles the other side. Not a bad drive up hwy 98. Why don't you bring your family up to spend a day at the Beach Club?
Kelli and the girls will drive down and arrive Wednesday morn(June 27). I am flying in Friday evening, and we will be there til Wednesday, July 5th.
So, any day Saturday-Tuesday would be great. Nearby Foley, AL. has a go cart track called The Wild Woody that my girls love. It is a two story wooden structure and the go carts go up and around the upstairs part, then back down and around. (I guess I kinda enjoyed it , too.)

Sounds go to me! Can we come too? We'll bring nachos and a margarita machine. :drinking1

First thought that came to mind when Willie asked 'what are everyone else's vacation plans this summer?" was 'not a Disney cruise, sigh. :sad2: ' We're actually planning a 3-4 trip to NYC . Quite different from a cruise or beach vacation, isn't it? Rachel wants to visit American Girl Place, I want to hit up the stores and Rob wants to go to the Oyster Bar at Grand Central station. (Like Vegas though, we can, (or only Rob) can only stand the fast-pace of that city for a few days.)

Willie, are the waters in Alabama similar to the ones in the Caribbean? The only other beachwe've been to (close-by, where we can drive, we'd love to take another road trip) is South Padre. Tell us more about this place. :)

Andrew, your FL panhandle sounds neat too. It's good to hear about other beaches from fellow cruisers. :Pinkbounc

Willie-We wish Hayley a very speedy recovery!! It's great that you are thinking about positive plans--summer vacation.

Priscilla-We will be in NYC this summer too. Chuck's cousin is getting married the last weekend of June. I've only been to NYC once and Mason has never been there so we are excited to play tourist!!

We went there last summer, and it was my first time there in almost 20 years. I couldn't believe how much it'd changed! (For the better, of course.) Are you going to take Mason to the Toys R Us in Times Square? It's awesome. There's a ferris wheel (can't remember how many stories) inside the store! Too bad we can't meet up. :sad2: We can't get the time to go until the first week in August.
