Live from All Star Sports - Surfs up

This morning we took a vote to see which park we would head to. It was pretty much a unanimous vote for Magic Kingdom, since we had not done a full day at MK during this trip. We were out the door, and as we have seen for the past days, at the bus stop, just after a bus leaves. No big deal though, it allows us to pick the seat on the next bus.

Once at the Magic Kingdom, we took our usual picture just past the ticketing area, in the center of the garden. It was very interesting to note however, there were no PhotoPass photographers in the area. After the photos outside, we proceeded to Main Street to take a photo by a Disney photographer.

Since DD3 was in her Jasmine dress today, we decided to go to the Barber Shop and get the girls and my hair cut, complete with mickey heads and Pixie Dust. We got there just in time, because after we got in line for the haircuts, there was quite a bit of backlog. The girls got their mickey heads, and pretty hair, I got my mickey head, and a coating of hair gel that served as my sunscreen for the day.

Since we had already been in the park for an hour and a half and not accomplished anything but a haircut, we decided to head to the Plaza restaurant for lunch. Along the way, we stopped at the Virtual Magic Kingdom shop to see if they had the "Boo to You" song, to use as the background music for the trip. They no longer sold the custom CD's, and I was told the Halloween song wasn't available. I plan to continue my quest for the song once I get home.

We decided after lunch to get some ice cream for the girls, Dole Whip Sundae, and slice of pineapple for me. This led us into Adventureland. We walked through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, visited the Tiki Room, and Aladdin's Carpet ride. Next up was Frontierland, and a trip on the Big Boat, I say that, because I don't remember the name. It was the first time that we have ridden it as a family.

We then made our way into Fantasyland to secure FastPasses to Peter Pan. We rode Cinderella's Carousel, and Snow White's Not So Scary Adventure. The made our way down to watch the Dreams Come true parade. After the parade, we made our way to Toontown to get the Princesses autographs, and to let DD3 take in some rides and playtime.

Since it was close to dinner time, we had been trying to get seating at any of the MK restaurants, which turned out to be impossible. Did I mention yet that the crowds were quite large today? It seemed like it was very busy, but most of the attractions we went on had a 20 minute wait. I am not sure what was going on, but it just seemed crowded. We chose Cosmic Ray's as our dinner of choice, since for counter service you either get a hamburger, hot dog, or chicken tenders.

We decided to go scope out a place to watch Spectromagic, and ended up on the wheel across from the castle, what looked to be a great location, ended up testing my patience. We were close to the box that the CM's mark out to allow them a place to sit during the parade. The box ended up being encroached by about 6 - 7 kids, and a few parents. The wouldn't listen to the CM that was telling them that they could not be there, but yet, the CM would not be forceful and force them to move. That is my only rant that I have for this trip, I promise.

After Spectromagic, we went into tomorrowland to ride Buzz Lightyear, and the TTA. We found it interesting that the TTA closes before Wishes. But anyway, we made our way towards Main Street only to decide, actually DD7 decided, let's get out of there before everyone else makes a run for it. We did however stop in the bakery for a couple of Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast.

Tomorrow is our last park day, so we are going to fill in the rest of the blanks that we didn't hit today.

See ya!

I love Hollywood and Vine when it was just the dinner ......was it good? Thanks again

The food at H and V was very good. Since we had a early reservation, breakfast was still out. Needless to say, I didn't go away hungry. There was also a Chicken on a Stick with Peanut Glaze that was really good. It was good enough for me to want to find the recipe, and make it at home.

thanks again for your day......I LOVE SOARIN.........how did your wife like it.....

We have been big Soarin' fans since it arrived at The Land. We were sad that DD3 was only 39.5 inches, and couldn't ride on it.

Dateline.....The last day in a park :(

Since it was our last park day, and we had not ridden on the monorail, we decided to take the long way to the Magic Kingdom via EpCot and transfer at the TTC. When we were boarding the monorail, we asked if the family could ride in the front of the monorail, and they said yes. This appeared to be the start of a magical day.

Once at the Magic kingdom, we headed to Fantasyland to get some fastpasses for Peter Pan, we rode the teacups again, and visited Ariel's grotto. Afterwards, we rode Peter Pan, and then met up with Mary Poppin's behind Cinderellas Carousel, much the demise of DD3 who would have rather rode the carousel.

Lunch was at the Crystal Palace, which is one of the family favorites, since it has food that we all can agree upon. We met our pals from the Hundred Acre Wood. I think our waiter was tired of getting me Diet Coke, since there were three empty glasses, and he pretty much drifted off, but at least the dessert stations had great things.

Afterwards, we rode Cinderella's carousel to make DD3 happy. We glanced past frontierland, scoring FastPasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. We the boarded the train bound for ToonTown, and were met with a large gathering of characters, including Pinocchio. After letting DD3 ride Goofy's Barnstormer. After riding the kiddie coaster, the girls were chosen for a Dream of a Million Dreams giveaway, bags of cotton candy. They received certificates stating that they were official testers. We then boarded another train headed back to Frontierland. The fast passes were executed by DW and DD7, while DD3 and I sat around in the play area.

We then headed back into fantasy land to get another ride of the carousel, Mickey's Philharmagic, and It's A Small World, and back to the carousel. While getting on the carousel, we started discussing dinner plans. I called Disney Dining and asked for Chef Mickey's, but ended up with our second favorite dinner, O'Hana's.

As usual, dinner at O'Hana's is good for the carnivore in me. The kids were amused with the antics that the Hula lady does, like the coconut races, limbo, and hula lessons. Afterwards we went down to the beach for a bit until the boat came along to ferry us back over to the Magic Kingdom to finish off the night and vacation.

Since we were all cold, we started shopping for something warm, talk about an impulse buy. We ended up with pullovers for the girls, and nothing for us. Not a big deal, since the shops were nice and warm. To finish the night, we rode Buzz Lightyear, and to top it off, the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority. How many families do you know that would do that?

DW did some more shopping on the way out of the park, and then back at the resort, and will probably hit the gift shop at least once more in the morning. During her time there, the girls were again chosen for a Dream, this time to guess the "What's in the box?" Even though they got the thing wrong, they got another certificate, and a pin.

It ended up being a magical day for the girls, and a magical ending to the week in Walt Disney World.

It's been fun sharing our week with each and everyone. We hope that each of you enjoyed the pictures and the play by play details.
