Hello DISers! We just checked in this afternoon to our 1BR concierge villa at AKV. It's villa #6208, and it's got a savannah view, which is nice. Everything in the villa looks great and is in working order that we've noticed.

Check in was very nice since they handled it right in our room (we checked in around 4:30 PM). After checking in and unpacking a bit, we headed off to Downtown Disney for a nice dinner at Earl of Sandwich and some shopping. Not surprisingly, World of Disney was wall to wall people! ;)

Now we're trying to decide if we're still going to try to go to the MK tomorrow since the forecast calls for some pretty serious thunderstorms (we actually encountered them back in Atlanta when leaving this morning). We may just wind up sticking around here before trying to make some of the Mousefest meets.

I've taken some pictures of the villa and the view, and I'll try to get those posted tomorrow.

:)

I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. Have a great time!

Sooooo jealous. We love AKV concierge. That is were we stayed for our honeymoon. Of course this was way before the DVC at AKL, but we love it. Have fun at Mouse Fest.

Looking forward to the pictures! We are in a 1 Bedroom concierge in May. :cool1:

Can't wait to hear all about your trip! Are you doing any safaris? What food and drinks are they offering in the Club?

Have a blast!!!
Ellen

oooh-can't wait to read your report! We just got back-we stayed at AKV studio savannah view and loved it! I'm looking forward to pics!!:santa:

Also looking for to pictures and reports :thumbsup2. I'll be staying on concierge in March :cloud9:.

Hello ead79!! DH and I are flying down early tomorrow morning and we are also planning on making some of the mouse meets this weekend also! Hopefully we meet up!!

I'm glad the room was quickly cleaned for you since I checked out of it yesterday !! LOL !!

BTW, the room is missing it's spatula in case you wanted to cook while you are there. Also, The bedroom remote works well, you can actually change the channels using the number buttons but the living room one is a PIA. Back of it was missing before we arrived even.

I agree, the view of the savannah is amazing from that room. The animals were not there first thing in the moring but by 10 am, we had them all outside our window. It was great.

How funny that a DISer had the same room as we do! What a small world!

As promised, here are a few pictures of our villa and our view:

I wish I had a huge vanity like this at home:

It struck us as odd that there is not any artwork at all in the toilet area. It just looks so plain! Then again, I don't suppose you're in there for the ambience, LOL!

I've got some pictures of the breakfast and dinner offerings in the lounge as well, but I've got to get to bed pretty soon so we can try to make rope drop at Hollywood Studios tomorrow. :)

Chellymouse, I hope we run into each other at some Mousefest stuff!

I'll check in again when I can!

Loved you photos! They bring back such wonderful memories of our trip to AKV's, in a one bedroom, CL, this past August. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more. Have a great trip!! :)

Great pictures :)

We have friends from the UK staying DVC AKV concierge at the moment, not sure what view they got.

Claire ;)

Hello again! Today we had a very nice day, especially since it wasn't raining today. We went to Hollywood Studios for the day, and loved our first ride on Toy Story Mania. That ride is addictive! So far DH has beaten me every time, so I've got to improve. ;)

We also went to the WDWToday 500th episode event, which was really a blast. After that we hauled it over to the Merry Member Mixer. It was basically the same setup as last year, though this year they gave out chocolate covered rice krispie treats instead of cookies. Plus, the krispie treats were individually wrapped, so you didn't have to eat it right away. We also got our ornament, which is a fun perk.

We ended the day with a tour of the Osborne Lights, which were great. I think the dancing effect is really fantastic.

I'll try to see if I can get those concierge lounge food offering pictures up tomorrow. :)

Claire, we have heard several people with British accents in the lounge, so maybe it was your friends!

Probably was them they leave for home today.

Sounds like you have been having a wonderful time :)

Today DH and I went to the Mousefest Mega Mouse Meet over at the Yacht Club convention center. It was a blast! We won a special prize from Allearsnet, which was a real treat (thanks, Michelle!). Of course we went over to the DIS's table several times to meet the various DISers and the podcast team. It was great meeting everyone in person and putting a face with a name. Julie must be the cutest pregnant person ever, LOL! And to top it all off, I got to meet Pete himself! Here's a picture of DH, Pete, and I:
