Little tiny things that irritate you about WDW...Let's vent.

Dirty bathrooms (found several on our trip in Feb.)

Decline in quality in TS restaurants

Lame rides/exhibits - Narnia for one......Nemo for another. They're just commercials for WDW movies.

Indifferent CMs - found a few on our last trip.....grumpy souls who wanted to be anywhere but at WDW at that moment

Rides dumping you into gift shop areas....really tough with younger kids

The disgusting bathrooms; the overflowing garbage cans; and the lowering of their own standards in general..

the mk parades...... last visit I did not want to deal with getting there early to sit in front.....so I scope out a wall set back..put my kids up on it , great they will have a good view.
They did until the adults who came and stood right in front of them all turned on thier video cameras and held them up over their heads to tape the parade......right in front of my kids faces......:confused3 Um no...it s more important that my kids actually see the parade we are present for than for you to have a dusty old video of the parade you might watch once in a blue moon...

The quality of the food offered has changed so much and I hate the shops....stuffed animals and t-shirts are ok but I remember main street when they had really great stores.......

Sorry, but if there was space between your kids and the people in front of them, it was bound to be filled in. The only way to guarantee an unobstructed view is to plant yourself on the street an hour or so ahead of time. Frustrating, yes, but that is how it works.

I did not mind the space being filled ...my kids could see over their heads...just not over the video cameras they held over their heads......like holding up a sign.....just should not be done imo

I'm not venting - I mean, everyone deserves to enjoy WDW! - but we found the roving packs of overweight scooter people to be, erm... kinda startling. Never seen anything like that in our lives.

My kids are now convinced Americans are the fattest people in the world.

I'm another who loves the bargain of the dining plan, but hates that I have to make ADRs so far out. When I made my first trips, we used to decide on where to eat when we got to the park.

And I hate that I can't get from resort to resort easily using the bus service. I don't drive, so I can't rent a car. So I have to go to a park or DTD and transfer. Makes eating at a resort a pain.

Can mention a minor vent about Disneyland instead?

There are certain rides where I expect I will be seated next to people I don't know-- Soarin', Star Tours, TOT, etc. And that is fine. However, I do NOT expect this on Pirates. Now to be fair I am usually there with my kids and most of the time Dh is with us too. So getting our own row is a given. But I have riden the ride with Dh only and once all by myself and I still got my own row.

A couple months ago I was at DL with my sister and we went to get on Pirates and I sit down and two more people squeeze into the same row. So now I am uncomfortably smushed -- worse yet against a guy I do not know with the added bonus of his camera case jabbing into my side. It totally ruined my ride. I don't know if this is a new thing, or it was just the CM, but I was tempted to write a letter (I didn't).

I had something like that happen years ago at Universal in CA on the Back to the Future ride. It was me, my boyfriend, and a very small-statured older Asian man in one row of seats. That ride flings you all over hell's half acre and while I'm not heavy, I am 5'9" and, as such, was quite a bit bigger than the poor man sitting next to me. I was trying desperately not to crush him, apologizing all the while, but he didn't appear to understand me and just stared at me with mute horror on his face. It was awful. Funny, but awful.

My gripe about WDW is just that sometimes it seems a little less magical than it used to, mainly in that every single ride and/or attraction now funnels you out through a gift shop. I understand why, but it feels so...I dunno, unseemly, I guess. Don't get me wrong; it's still the place I'd most like to vacation in the world, but that's a little thing that irks me.

Heelies in the park:sad2:

And I don't blame the kids....How stupid can a parent be?

It kinda irks me that there's no park-to-park bus service.

There is! :thumbsup2

The condition of the bathrooms is deteriorating.

I agree - it REALLY has changed!!!

It's the same stuff in every store now.

Totally - I hate that. I used to stop in every single shop I passed... now I dont bother.

Chloe's mom your comment made me laugh, DH said the exact same thing. Last week the only place we found a really decent cup of coffee was at Cape May Cafe.

.

Boma also has a wonderful pressed coffee. FABULOUS! :goodvibes

What a lovely comment!!! :cloud9:

The food. It has sooo declined. The lack of choices. Having to make ADR's months ahead or you'll not get a table. (duhh, maybe they need more resturants!)

I can't even tell you how wonderful it was staying at US resorts and having a excellent quick service resturant right next to the pool! We got great burgers, sandwiches, and fresh salad made to order served by a wait staffer! The WDW resorts quick services places rate a "D-" in comparision.

Um, 1-800-828-0228
That number no longer works. When you call you get a recording that tells you this, and then tells you to call the 407 number or "visit us on our website...."

There is no working 800 number anymore.

My peeve about Disney is that the majority of park food is awful. Poor quality, not healthy either. I understand though, they have to feed thousands of folks a day, but the kiosk/cart and counter service food is especially boring and awful. We work around it though! LOL :goodvibes

Would it be too much to ask for a kabob cart? (don't feel like chomping on a huge, messy turkey leg while I walk around) or maybe some good classic ethnic "street" foods?

They are? Really? I didn't know that.

I always thought that if I needed to go from Epcot to AK, for example, I'd have to bus to a resort, then switch busses to AK.

Maybe I've never looked hard enough, but I've never seen a bus stop at a park that will take you directly to another park.

Yup. I use the park buses all the time when I hop from park to park.

The castle restaurant is all character meals, all the time, with pricing to match!!! Hey, how about opening lunch for the non-character set? Please???????

NO!!! Anything but lunch. Lunch at CRT is the best!

People who stop in the middle of a walkway to look at their maps. Dude, PULL OVER to the side to figure out how to get to Splash Mountain! Those of us who already know would like to get by! (same goes for the local mall, heck, any public place!).

I work in Manhattan, and this is a chronic tourist problem. That, and standing their entire family in front of a building while someone walks all the way to the curb to take the picture, and expects all the pedestrian traffic to come to a halt in between them.

I haven't been through the whole thread so I don't know if this has been posted already, but I can't stand it at WDW when people who clearly don't need the wheelchair get it anyway so they can get to the front of the line. I know too many people who try this. :sad2:

There's a good chance it was just the other people not listening to the castmember. A lot of times as they are loading the lines up, the castmember will say to you "row 7, next ride" that means go wait in row 7 for the next empty vehicle, not climb in next to the person who is in the process of climbing in right now. Some people either don't get it, or miss the "next ride" part. I had that happen a couple of times this last trip. Both times I looked over and saw the next vehicle was all set to load, except my row was empty because the people had climbed in with me.

Me too, you can stay at any budget motel and get free wireless but not on Disney property.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Also you can stay at a budget motel and still have a coffee pot in the room. You pay hundreds of dollars a night to stay on Disney property and they can't have a small coffee pot in the room?

Wow! When did they deactivate the number? I used it to make all my ADR's only a few weeks ago..How cheap can they get!

Continuing with the stroller theme, I hate when it is park closing and the masses are slowly trudging to the exits. It's crowded and everyone is pretty much forced to take itty bitty baby steps. Then there's always some family who thinks that they can use the stroller as a battering ram to get them through the crowd. Grrrr, I hate that!!!!

Last time I was there with my family, my sister and I kept repeating..."The Magic Kingdom, where every stroller is a lean, mean, killing machine!" :scared1:

Now that I had time to think about it.... I HATE calling for rates, reservations, just any stupid piece of information and having to go through my entire file. This drives me NUTS! Even more so when I go through it with them, have them change the incorrect information....then call back another time and it's still wrong!!!

I had to ask not less than ten times to take my ex-husband off as my fellow traveler. Umm, hello - I haven't had that phone number in three years. No, 4 years ago wasn't my last visit, I've spent $27k on trips since then but thanks for appreciating it. AARRGHHH!! I hate dreading calling to make a reservation.

OK, I'm done. Off to take some Midol. ;)

Thought of something else on the way to the Midol... It drives me crazy that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Front desk can't help you with a reservation package problem, call the same number and you get three different answers to the same question, etc. I also agree with the bathroom complaints - this past October trip was a world of difference cleanliness wise than a couple years ago ago. (ditto on a lot of the customer service)
