7. Ethernaut - The Cruxshadows

 That is a good cd... I don't know if it's my favorite by them or not, it's a hard choice. (Yes even though my username is the title of one of their cds, I'm not sure which would be my favorite)

But on topic, this is such a hard question for me! I'll have to go home and figure it out afte work.

I was listening to Wishfire earlier this morning! I have those 2, as well as Mystery of the Whisper/Until the Voices Fade. But Ethernaut edges them out because I love "Cassandra" and "Winter Born." But then I also love "Marilyn My Bitterness"... :confused3

I was able to see the Electric Light Orchestra in Mobile Alabama in 80-81 time frame. Opening act was Hall and Oates.

YouTube has some nice ELO clips on there.

Oh man, this is going to be tough. Strictly going off the top of my head, in no particular order, reserving the right to change my mind in the future…

1. Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti
2. Queen – A Night at the Opera
3. Metallica – Ride the Lightening
4. Lynyrd Skynyrd – pronounced 'lĕh-'nérd 'skin-'nérd
5. Blues Traveler – Live from the Fall
6. Eric Clapton – One More Car, One More Rider
7. BB King – Live in Cook County Jail
8. Willie Nelson – Red Headed Stranger
9. Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon
10. Johnny Cash – American III: Solitary Man

This was extremely difficult for me. I couldn’t even fit Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, The Rat Pack, or Van Halen on to this list. Robert Randolph and the Family Band’s "Live at the Wetlands" is a CD that I obsessed over for 6 months after purchasing it, and yet it didn’t make my list. And a CD that I have listened to probably 1000 times in the past year – "Return of the Champions" by Queen + Paul Rodgers – couldn’t crack the Top 10 either. Although, I found it most difficult to pick my favorite albums by my favorite artists. I have listened to all of Queen’s albums probably 50,000 times each and I had a real hard time picking just one. I could have copped out by picking a greatest hits album, but that wouldn’t be fair to the great songs that don’t get any airtime. Ditto for Led Zeppelin. And BB King is one of my favorites ever, but his old studio work is so hard to find that I have to settle for live performances and box sets. So this is the best I can do for now.

I, too, agonized over which Zep album to list (I noticed we both listed the same one :thumbsup2 ). Really, any of the first six Zeppelin albums could've easily made the list. I just went with Physical Graffiti because I find it much more difficult to make an entire double album a compelling listen from start to finish.

And, interestingly, Metallica's Master of Puppets just barely missed out on making my top ten. I tend to prefer it over Ride the Lightning because, great as RTL is, it still has "Trapped Under Ice" and "Escape", in my opinon two of the lesser Metallica songs.

In no particular order:

Pearl Jam - 10
Singles Sountrack
The Beatles - any album
The Cure - Staring at the Sea - The Singles
Smashing Pumpkins - Melancoly and the Infinite Sadness
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
Kate Bush - The Kick Inside
Urban Cowboy Soundtrack

Eh, I can't think of any more at the top heap of my list. I love pretty much all genre's of music.

My picks are pretty recent so be kind and in no order

Walk the Line-soundtrack

Interesting. You chose actors' re-recordings of Cash/Carter songs over the originals. I think it's cool how we all have different tastes, and I like to gauge my own tastes by comparing them to others'. Thanks for contributing! :thumbsup2

(I guess I'll have to give a listen to the Walk the Line soundtrack. :) )

It is threads like these that make me realize just how out of touch I am. I am looking at the names of some of these bands -- Staind, Seether, Sevendust, Shinedown,
KoRn. My first thoght on all of them are - WHO ARE THESE BANDS!?!?! I'm not saying that it's bad that people list them as their favorites. Each to their own. It just makes me realize that I have no interest in the music that is being produced these days. I feel so old.

Aren't a whole lot of albums where I love almost every song. I'm assuming we aren't counting Greatest Hits type albums.

Bat Out of Hell (Meatloaf)
Unleashed (Toby Keith)
High n Dry (Def Leppard)
Tigerlily (Natalie Merchant)

My Fair Lady (Broadway)
Sound of Music (Broadway)

Well, to paraphrase Mr. Loaf, five out of six ain't bad. ;)

My own odd list, in no particular order;

ABC- The Lexicon Of Love
Alarm - Declaration
Meatloaf - Bat Out Of Hell
The Replacements - Pleased To Meet Me
They Might Be Giants - Flood
Weird Al - Running With Scissors
Ramones - Ramones
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
The D1ckies - Stukas Over Disneyland
The (English) Beat - I Just Can't Stop It

Well, lookee here, a fellow TMBG fan! Flood is good, but I'm a bit partial to Lincoln (especially for "Kiss Me, Son of God"). But Flood does have "Dead", which is an awesome song. Of course, Apollo 18 features "Dinner Bell", "Turn Around", and "Fingertips".

Glad to see some ABC and English Beat listed, too. :thumbsup2

Oh, two more I love (mostly because they bring back good memories) are Paul McCartney and Wings' Venus and Mars and Wings At the Speed of Sound (or is it just At the Speed of Sound?)

Count me in. I love Flood, especially, though.
