These are in no particular order, and I reserve the right to change my mind 5 minutes from now when I think of something different.

It is threads like these that make me realize just how out of touch I am. I am looking at the names of some of these bands -- Staind, Seether, Sevendust, Shinedown,
KoRn. My first thoght on all of them are - WHO ARE THESE BANDS!?!?! I'm not saying that it's bad that people list them as their favorites. Each to their own. It just makes me realize that I have no interest in the music that is being produced these days. I feel so old.

Yeah. Sadly, though, in my case I tend to look askance at mainstream rock after, say, '97 or '98. For one thing, whenever I heard anything by the "second generation" grunge acts, I usually wanted to scream for them to make it stop. And don't get me started on nu metal (or, what I preferred to call it--mook rock). The less said about that travesty, the better (with apologies to all you Korn, Staind, and... er... Limp Bizkit fans out there).

Probably, I'm just stubbornly showing my age...

Ooh, I forgot that one! Totally reminds me of my senior year in HS/freshman year in college (my then-BF put a couple of DM songs on the first mix tape he ever made for me. :teeth: )

I was going to post this question last night, but realized there was no way I could narrow it down to just 10 lol.

Yes! Another Killers fan(what do you think of the new CD?)

My Walk the Line thoughts:

I have to give special metion to Tyler Hilton's version of "That's All Right" since he is a musician in his own right, "Lewis Boogie" byWalyon Mally Payne and of course "Cocaine Blues" and "Jackson"

This coming from the girl who is not a big fan of country outside of Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood(both make my list as second team picks)

1) Abbey Road - Beatles
2) Revolver - Beatles

4) Rubber Soul - Beatles
5) Band on the Run - Wings
6) Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon – James Taylor
7) Selling England by the Pound - Genesis
8) Walking Man – James Taylor
9) Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – Elton John
10) Flowers in the Dirt – Paul McCartney

2) Mozart Adagios - Bell / Hogwood / Marriner
3) Von Karajan Adagios
4) Berlin Philharmonic – Beethoven Symphonies
5) The Magic Flute – Otto Klemperer – London
6) Joshua Bell – The Voice of the Violin
7) Aria – Clarinet and the Opera
8) Benny Goodman Collectors Edition
9) Cecilia Bartoli - A Portrait

A Trick of the Tail--Genesis
Casting Crowns--Casting Crowns
Leftoverture--Kansas
Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs--Derek and the Dominoes
Brothers And Sisters--The Allman Brothers Band
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road--Elton John
Yellow Moon--The Neville Brothers

No order...
David Bowie...Ziggy Stardust
Queen...Night at the Opera
Boomtown Rats...Fine Art of Surfacing
The Clash...London Calling
Abba...Greatest Hits
Peter Frampton...Frampton Comes Alive
The Police...first album

One of the worst albums ever made...Best of Bell, 1970-1974...
Can you tell I was born in 1961 ? I don't even listen to current musicians...sort of lost interest after Freddy Mercury died. Maybe I need to learn about Jazz, I'm certainly not going to listen to Rap.

Disneyfan63, thanks for the Hotel California contribution. I can't believe I forgot it and it truly is one of the greatest of all time.

Interesting. I love this, too (of course), but I'm more partial to You Are the Quarry.

And, if I ever get around to posting a thread dealing with favorite music DVDs/videos, Who Put the "M" In Manchester? is definitely in the top five! :thumbsup2

I rank both that and Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash as two of the best albums I own... but they just fell short of the top ten.

Okay. I've gotta post a list of, like, the next twenty...
