For Classical albums (which I listen to more of these days - you should check these out ;)):

1) Mozart Clarinet Concerto – David Shifrin
2) Mozart Adagios - Bell / Hogwood / Marriner
3) Von Karajan Adagios
4) Berlin Philharmonic – Beethoven Symphonies
5) The Magic Flute – Otto Klemperer – London
6) Joshua Bell – The Voice of the Violin
7) Aria – Clarinet and the Opera
8) Benny Goodman Collectors Edition
9) Cecilia Bartoli - A Portrait
10) Dvorak – Symphony 9, Berlin Philharmonic

I'll be the first to admit that I don't listen to as much classical (or jazz, for that matter), as I'd like. I do, however, listen to quite a bit of film score music (as opposed to source music).

I think I'll start at the top of your list and work my way down. :)

Interesting. I love this, too (of course), but I'm more partial to You Are the Quarry.

I love that album, it's definitely his best to date IMO. But I also love Viva Hate as well.

no way I could narrow it down to ten.

I'll just give my vote to the best album of the the year, The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance.

Great album! My other favorite Moz album is Your Arsenal.

It's always hard to pick a favorite Morrissey OR Smiths album. They've created so much great music.

I saw this sticker on a car when I was up in Austin for a show this past July. I couldn't resist getting a picture of it. You'll appreciate this I'm sure :teeth:

Boomtown Rats...Fine Art of Surfacing
The Clash...London Calling

Gah, more I forgot, though TFAOS is probably tied for my favorite Rats album with V Deep (Skin on Skin's one of my favorite songs of theirs). Man, these lists are bringin' back memories! I think I might actually break out the turntable tomorrow. :teeth:

I can't do best of lists. I'd just keep remembering things and adding to them. I love most everybody's picks. I went to a used album store today to purchase some Christmas gifts and bought an album I was surprised not to see it here on anybody's list.
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

In no particular order I'll go with...

Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
Back in Black - AC/DC (my high school soundtrack :teeth: )

Joni Mitchell: For the Roses

Hotel California--Eagles

The joke in my family is that I was an Eagles fan since conception as this album has a LOT to do with my existance :rotfl2: I suppose it should be my #1, LOL!

Funny thing is I really have always loved the Eagles and it wasn't til Jr. High I heard the background story :rotfl:

I honestly can't make a list. I rarely buy CD's anymore. Nothing like working in radio to make you hate music :rotfl: I end up listening to things we don't play and have no clue what's actually popular right now because I'm constantly listening to my iPod when I'm working :rotfl: Then the iPod has tracks from this and that, I can't even think which songs are all from the same album . . . CDs have been packed away since I got the iPod.

I can't believe that ZAMFIR - Master of the Pan Flute is not on your list....

;)

or Kenny G, the Michael Bolton of instrumental music... :crazy2:

I must say I'm a little surprised at some of the classics that aren't on this list:

Slim Whitman
BoxCar Willie
David Hasselhoff

nothing from the K-tel collection...

Yes! Another Killers fan(what do you think of the new CD?)

I still really haven't decided! Hot Fuss just grabbed me right away - I love the bass in Jenny Was a Friend, and that was it for me. But this one...I'm still listening and trying to make up my mind. It's definitely good, though.

I do love You Are the Quarry by Morrissey, too, but again - Ringleader just immediately grabbed me and I didn't want to turn it off. So it just slightly edged Quarry out.

Okay, I just have to add a few more:

Hollywood Town Hall-the Jayhawks(love, love, love it!!!!!!)
Harvest-Neil Young(How could I have forgotten?)
So-Peter Gabriel
Hell Among the Yearlings-Gillian Welch(one of the best singer/songwriters of this generation IMHO)
Four-Blues Traveler
The Best of The Velvet Underground-the Velvet Underground(I know "Best of.." albums aren't supposed to count but I couldn't resist.)
