List of Disney Stores Closing

I've been worried about the one near me in the Sunrise Mall in NY, and I see it is on the list. Well, I must admit I hardly purchase anything in there anymore except for Disney Dollars.

mine is closing, and when it does, i dont think we will have any left in the state! they just redid the one in buckland, ct, so i wonder if this list is mistaken (*hopes*)

Yeah. We liked Yorktown better. That's throwing out the fact the other one is exposed to the elements and sometimes it actually rains/snows here.

I really think the list might be wrong.

I just talked to the folks at Yorktown, at they were beyong confident they were staying. :confused3

Plus the Yorktown location is nicer then OakBrook AND Woodfield.

Well, I just called the Prime Outlets in Williamsburg and they confirmed that the Disney Outlet never opened and they don't think that it will. :sad1:

IN
Castleton Square
University Park Mall
Circle Centre Mall
Greenwood Park Mall
Tippecanoe Mall

This looks like most, if not all, of the Indiana stores. It's hard to believe that they'd close all the central Indiana stores. Maybe this list is not correct. I'm definately going to call guest relations at: 1-866-902-2798 as was suggested in a previous post.

The Greenwood Park Mall store never did get changed. It's one of the "original design" stores around here. The Castleton store was changed and in my opinion is awful!

As much as I prefer Roosevelt Field to Sunrise, the Sunrise Mall Disney Store was the better of all of them. I haven't gone there in a long time because that mall has gone downhill but I still hope they aren't closing.

I met the "liquidator" guy this morning so I know with 100% certainty that these locations are closing:
Valley View Mall - Dallas, TX
Vista Ridge Mall - Lewisville, TX
Town East Mall - Mesquite, TX

Very sad. :sad2: I will still have 3 stores within a reasonable distance, but they aren't exactly along my beaten path.

The Sunrise Mall has actually been upgraded a bit. There are new owners & they have been fixing the mall. But the Disney Store hasn't had much stock lately, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did close. I was there 2 weeks ago, it was open then.

I wonder if the list is wrong. Our closest one is the Mall of NH and I think it is always busy. At least whenever we make the trek down there. I don't want to drive to Salem. That would be over an hour ride when Manchester, NH is already 50mins. I am going to have to call and ask if they are closing. I will be very depressed if they do, my DD's love that store!

That is a BRUTAL list! Will there be any left in Indiana? Does Fort Wayne have one?

I can't believe they are closing Circle Centre, with the high traffic from the out of town visitors for the downtown venues and conventions. That store probably does more business from out-of-towners than locals. The Circle Center Mall is definitely a destination spot for the Indy travel industry with its great location within walking distance downtown.

Is there a list of the stores that were kept?

Edit:
I just called and spoke to the Fort Wayne store manager and they are staying open! YAY!! They are always packed- some days I can't even walk in there- I would have been surprised if they were closed!

I don't think this is right. There isn't a Disney Store in the Mills Mall. And that is a list of all the Disney Stores.

Well, I got confirmation that yes, the DS at the Mall at Steamtown (PA) is closing. Everything is 10-20% off. The manager there said that the Wyoming Valley Mall location is also closing which wasn't on the list. I am really sad about this.:sad1:

IL
Stratford Square Mall
Golf Mill Shopping Center
Yorktown Center This was the nicer of the two stores that was close to me, the other in Oak Brook Mall seems to have been spared
Cherryvale Mall
Northwoods Mall
Westfield Hawthorne

yes glad to see at least they are leaving one fairly close to us open.

I can't believe they are going to close both the Castleton and Circle Center stores here. I would have expected at most 1 of the 2 to close. They both seemed to do decent buisness (at least in terms of traffic) as both malls are pretty busy.

No offense to Ft Wayne, but I'm a good couple of hours away and with $4/gal gas won't be trekking up there for the Disney store.

Has anyone called the jackson premium outlet store, NJ or the one in the cherry hill mall, NJ to see if they are closing?

 :sad2: :sad1: Wahhh!!!! I can still drive 75 miles to Potomac Mills but I  the Prime Outlets so much more (well atleast its a LOT faster to get there...) Thanks for checking Scrap!:)

That just bites. I was so looking forward to it too.

The one at Virginia Center Commons is the only one left in Richmond and I'm on a first name basis with most of the people working there, no one said anything about it closing too.

Since it was on the list I've put this one out of my head....hey, maybe it WILL stay open?! Wow - we used to have 3 - Va Center, Regency, and Chesterfield....soon maybe none.
