Lisa and Geoff's Castaway Cay DCL Dream Wedding PJ&TR 11-12-11

Just wanted to let you know that you are allowed to use a personal photographer, we are doing that. I spoke with Shanda this week and said that your photographer should (if you and your photographer want to) have them involved when you meet with your onboard wedding coordinator. They can then go over the flow of the ceremony and what your photographer may be asking :) Just email Shanda and give her a heads up prior!

Oh and Shanda booked my hair appt as well as the mother of the bride for me this week too!

Thank you! PixieDust and PrincessTinker, let me know how things go! I'm so anxious to know how they are going to do the big day and how things will flow. My fiance makes fun of me for wanting a surprise, but wanting to know what the surprise is so I can plan out my reaction! Congrats to both of you!

I think it is only natural to want to know the flow of your day! I know they send you an itinerary before you go so you will know what is going on. I am sure when Lisa (PrincessTinker) and I get ours, we will post them in our PJ.

I am bringing my photographer to my onboard official US wedding when we get on, also to meet the onboard wedding coordinator. I am 69 days away!!

I agree with Pixie Dust they will keep you informed as you go along...Shanda has been helpful but I find the ship to be even more helpful (from what other brides have told me). You will have an amazing time!

I will post anything I get wedding related Pixie Dust, you are so right! lol

After lots of thought and continuous mind changing...I have finally decided on music for the Big Day!!

Prelude/Seating- A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes from Cinderella.

Processional- When You Wish Upon a Star (Was going to go traditional but I always think of church weddings when I hear the traditional wedding march)

Recessional- Was going to do Zip-a-dee-do-da but Geoff liked the Electrical Light Parade better, plus that brings back so many memories of when we both were younger and would visit Disney as kids.

First Dance- Can't Help Falling In Love- the Michael Buble version. We were going to do Everything by Michael Buble but Geoff said that song would make him fall apart. If he fell apart, then I would too. So, we will dance to that by ourselves in our cabin.

Father/Daughter, Mother/Son Dance- We are combining them and doing it together to Close to You by the Carpenters

Cake Cutting- I Do by Colbie Caillat (a song I found on iTunes and fell in love with...I have never heard of the song or the artist before stumbling across this...)

So, Music selections, CHECK!!

Great music selection, I found picking the music hard. I've never heard of Colbie Caillat either... just looked her up (and the song). Love it x

Picking music was VERY hard, I agree. We have been going back and forth on all of it! I am thankful it is finished.

1st dress fitting today! Of course, the slip I ordered will be coming in tomorrow...I will just borrow one of theirs even though that isn't what they want for you to do.

Great music choices! We used the Electric Light Parade as our song when they announced us and the bridal party at the reception and I loved it! I think it'll be great for your Recessional too!

Dress fitting SO exciting! My dress fit perfect (helps that it is a corset lol) so all I need is to get it bustled...I have to wait for the shoes to come in as they are getting dyed so my bustle appt is for Sept 22!!!!

Are you dying your shoes/crinoline? Just wondering ;)

Yes, dress fitting was fun. I have to have it taken in a bit, I guess so I cannot breathe (LOL) and shortened. Alterations are a rip off but need to be done. It was $200 to take in the top of it and shorten it.

I am just wearing ivory flip flops with a flower on them and I am not dying my crinoline. I like when brides do that, I just did not want another thing to do (or mess up!)

Oh I hear you on messing it up! lol I am waiting until after the dress fitting and then I am going to dye mine pink! I got my shoes dyed hot pink...We are almost there!!!

Love all the updates!! It is really getting close for the 3 Lisa's!

I agree with you in the cost of alterations!! I went to have mine done and they wanted $400!! I told the girl that I didn't expect to buy another dress! My dress was $625. That means the alterations were more than half the cost...frustrating. I found a lady down the street from me and it is still costing me $273, for a bustle, hem and a bit taken in on the top. Glad I am not alone really it is a rip off!

Good luck with the rest of your planning. Look forward to hearing more :)

YES! I love that the 3 Lisas have been on here and we get married so closely together! We are all getting married within 15 days of each other.

My dress was only $499 and then $200 for the alterations. It is the hemming on mine that is so much. I have 3 layers that need to be hemmed. There is the liner layer, the outer layer and then the chiffon that goes over the top. What a racket! $400 seems very high!

My custom cups for the gift bags are in! :woohoo: The lady that did them also does the shirts for my school so she GAVE them to me as a wedding present! It was so incredibly nice of her!!

Anyway, they are 20 oz. stadium cups with lids and they have a hold in the top for a straw. The color green is a little brighter than my green but we wanted the top to match the logo (Dolly did that for me!). This way, everyone will have a bigger cup to get sodas and it is spill proof for the kids and adults that have had too much! LOL Here is a picture...

I LOVE them! What a great idea!!

SO, my planning guide was due today! I turned it in so now it really feels official! Geoff and I can go and get our marriage license next week if we want to...I am sure we will put it off a couple of weeks. I don't want to lose it!

I am having my shower 2 weeks from tomorrow. :goodvibes

On every Disney cruise I have been on, I have seen people decorating their doors with fun stuff. I wanted to do something for my friends and family that they could use over again if they ever went on another cruise. After searching the boards for a while I found some awesome designs that designers have put up for free. The suggestion was to print items on magnetic inkjet sheets. I priced them and it would have been too much for me to do for 21 staterooms. I decided to use card stock and laminate it before attaching magnets on the back. WAY cheaper! This way I don't care if after the cruise my guests throw them away...I have a feeling there will be a lot of magnets on refrigerators after the cruise...

First, I did a set of Mickey ears for each stateroom door. Then I decided to do a cruise line name tag for each person in the room (they measure about 4"x2"). The came out great, or at least I think so. It did take a little bit of time to do them all. I cut them out of the card stock and then laminated them in my laminator that I have had since I was in a classroom teaching. I have used the magnetic tape a lot and I don't like how it rolls or bends so I bought a box of magnetic business cards (100 for $20.00). The adhesive on the back is very strong and they lay flat so for the mickey ears and name tags I just used a half of one on the back. They cut really easily with a pair of scissors. Here they are...

I also did a few little things for my niece and nephew with Cinderella and Lightning McQueen. It became a little addicting. :lmao:

In addition to the name tags and Mickey ears, I also asked each of my families for their favorite animated Disney movie. For each door I made an 8.5 x 11 door sign that I just slipped into a magnetic sleeve (I got 50 for 25.00). I have 2 couples celebrating 20 year anniversaries so I put that on theirs but on most of them just thanked them for coming to the wedding. I will be able to use the extra sleeves I got at school...(they are great for putting the bus name on the side of the school bus so kids can find their bus.) I did not give my photographer the option of a movie because I found Mickey with a camera. :)

This is just some of them. I think I have about 11 more to do. I just use a free disney clip art site and Microsoft Publisher. Since these slip into the sleeves, I don't have to laminate them.

The name tags, ears, and this will be included in their gift bags.

60 days until we leave!! :woohoo:
