Lisa and Geoff's Castaway Cay DCL Dream Wedding PJ&TR 11-12-11

I just had a fun thought! Since your wire hanger turned out so great and was relatively inexpensive you could make them for your bridesmaids as one of their gifts with their names on them. Or it would be even make a great hostess gift for your wedding shower.

I LOVE the fishes and I agree with Dolly those hangers would be great gifts :)

Oh my gosh Lisa,
Everything is so beautiful. Esp. the invites.
The beading on the dress is perfect.
We will be on the same cruise.

Thank you so much! That is great that you will be on the same cruise! I am hoping for good weather on Castaway Cay day!

We are 100% paid and just completed the online check-in! I am getting very excited and still have to wait 93 days! It should go by very quickly. I need to start getting my planning stuff ready to send back to Shanda.

My brother-in-law is being deployed to Iraq on Friday so we are down to 59 people. He will be missed at the wedding but we will all be thinking of him and praying for a safe return.

Hey Lisa! Glad to hear you are all checked in we are blocked out until the 16th of August, are you concierge suite level?

Sorry to hear your brother in law will not be able to make it!

You know...I have no idea why we were allowed to check in so early. I am not sure if it is because of our Castaway Club status or what. None of my guests have been able to check in. My mom who booked the same day was blocked out until August 12 and I think her Castaway Club status is the same as mine. Maybe just luck! LOL

Same thing happened to us, I was able to check in early. We're getting married on the Oct 8th Magic.

Shanda said it was because we are given VIP status as Concierge, but not staying in Concierge. So don't be surprised if you get special treatment on the cruise that your guests dont get.

Only glitch it threw for us was because I was able to make Palo early, I couldnt book the rest of the staterooms at the same sitting and by the time their ressies because available, the brunch was sold out. Going to see if I can add them when we board.

That makes sense about the checking in early...We are not doing dinner/brunch at Palo's. We only have a 3 night cruise and 60 people going so since it is our first time on the Dream, my DF and I would rather just do the normal rotation. We are taking a honeymoon cruise in March and will do Palos then. We will actually be on the Magic in March, 2012 going to the Western Caribbean for 6 nights. We are planning on doing the Palo Brunch.

Are you getting on the ship?

My gift bags are 90% complete. I just have some last minute things to throw in them...

I did 1 bag per stateroom so I have 20 bags. Luckily, I am in Orlando so I have family members assisting with bringing them to the terminal. I am waiting on a special order item to arrive...can't wait!

Yeah! I love how your bags turned out with the monogram on them! I know you are so excited for your wedding. Everything sounds like it is coming together wonderfully.

Dolly- I love my monogram. I ordered some stadium cups with lids for the gift bags as well. I cannot wait to post them on here with the other stuff in my gift bags...I have everything almost finished so I will be good to go! I have gotten so many compliments on the things you did for me. (I haven't shown too many people, I want there to be some surprises) I did use the monogram on my last newsletter though. :cheer2:

SO, I got a Chase Disney card back when we got engaged (a little over a year ago) and we have used it for everything and then just pay it off every month. I wanted to see if we could get any Disney Rewards to use on our honeymoon cruise on the Magic in 2012. Well, as of today we have 545 points which translates into $545 dollars to use on our honeymoon cruise.

The interest rate just went sky high on it but since we pay it off every month I don't care about that. I was just so surprised our points added up so quickly. It is like free money!! :yay:

We have that card too! We used most of the wedding stuff for it too and got like a 200 gift card! We are going to pull the points about a month out, so we should have about 250 as I still need to get our park hoppers and the dining plan :)

My interest rate went up to which I was very shocked! I have had the card 10 years and this is the first time...probably due to the economy but I figured after the wedding I will work on getting them to lower to it, if you ask they should as long as you have good credit...my other credit card did that plus they are only 9 percent, I want Chase to match it!

The bride's reservation gets priority check-in so you can book Palo and hair and all the fun stuff first. At least that's what the website said, because I was wondering the same thing. I can check in for mine (April 2012) in Dec, but everyone else has to wait.
Any details that any past or upcoming Castaway Cay brides can share would be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to piece it all together, but I'm a little overwhelmed. Does anyone know what they do for brides who bring their own photographer? How long do you have for photos before the reception? Sorry this got long, I'm just so excited!

I am bringing my own photographer. He is going to take pictures at the ceremony and then he will stay with us to ride the golf cart back to the ship with me and my new husband...that way, we can get some pictures along the way. I am not sure how long you have for pictures but I do know there are several people who have commented on getting to take pictures on the beach before they go back. I am sure if you have your own photographer you could go back to the beach for more pictures when you are finished with cake. I do not think they do anything differently for non-disney photographers. We will go back to the ship, do the cake thing, and then my guests will leave to go to CC and my photographer will take some more pictures of me and Geoff around the ship. The nice thing about having your own photographer is that you will have more than just the 2 hours or so of a photographer. Luckily mine is a friend of my family and he will be included in everything, the getting ready, dinners, etc. I will know way more towards the middle of November when I get back! LOL

Just wanted to let you know that you are allowed to use a personal photographer, we are doing that. I spoke with Shanda this week and said that your photographer should (if you and your photographer want to) have them involved when you meet with your onboard wedding coordinator. They can then go over the flow of the ceremony and what your photographer may be asking :) Just email Shanda and give her a heads up prior!
