It wouldn’t surprise me if there were a backup generator that would return the car to the bottom, slowly and safely, in that case. The guests wouldn’t get the full ride experience but wouldn’t be stuck either. Maybe a CM or former CM will come tell us.

That's exactly what happened to DH and DS when they rode it way back in 1994, a few months after the ride first opened. At first the ride just stopped, then a CM got on the loudspeaker and told them there'd been a problem and their car was slowly lowered to get them off. Then they were taken around to get on it and ride again without waiting. Since it was the first time on the ride for them, DH and DS weren't sure for a few minutes if the happenings were just all part of the ride!
