Lindas Journal - 2-29-2008.. BEWARE EDIETS!!

So sorry to hear about what you've ben going through. :grouphug: I'd be VERY frustrated with your job situation too. Would you ever consider looking elsewhere?

Don't worry about not exercising yesterday. Today is a new day. Sometimes, I find that working out (even just a walk) helps me feel better. Maybe you could find time to go for a walk to sort of clear your head.

At any rate, you've always got us on the WISH boards to turn to for advice and support. I KNOW you can do it!!!!! :goodvibes

Well I think I figured out what was making us sick! I went in the basement and there was water on the bathroom floor. We dont go down there much and before we left on vacation we noticed it, mopped it up, and couldnt figure out where it was coming from. It was under the sink, but not inside the vanity. Just sort of sitting there in the middle of the floor. Anyway, I checked this morning and there it was again, only more. Not a lot but definitely more. So I went and checked the storage room that is behind the bathroom. Big yucky mess! And I still couldnt figure out where the water is coming from, its all kind of underneath. And what is on the wall behind the bathroom??? Mold!!!! Not a whole lot, but definitely some there. So I immediately call the plumber, and he comes over this afternoon. (Luckily its one whos been there before) He looks and kind of goes Yuck ..what a mess! Yep. It took him about 30 seconds to figure it out (thats why hes a professional) We had the basement refinished last year and when they put the toilet in, the size doesnt match what it was plumbed for, whatever that means. Anyway, where the tank is bolted on it was leaking. We couldnt tell because it went under the wall, and then leaked back into the middle of the room. I guess the floor isnt level there. Anyway, he fixed it. At least he said he thought it would work, if not we have to get a new toilet installed. So we had to wet-vac up the water and then use clorox and disinfectant on the walls. Hopefully it will work. Luckily , since the bathroom backs up to an unfinished storage room, we have access to it and were able to clean it. I will have to just keep checking on it.

Besides that I got the bad news from the mechanic on my air conditioner in my crv...1100$. He thinks I should sue Honda. He is gonna save all the parts for me so I have a case. I doubt I will do it , but it makes me feel better that he is on my side anyway. All in all, a very expensive day!

I am going to take some kids to see POTC at the midnight show tonite. I sure hope its good, and that I can stay awake!

Diet, what diet? I still weigh 2000 lbs.

:hippie:

Woo,what a day! I hope you start to feel better now that the "mess" is gone!! Going to see POTC is a perfect way to finish your day. Johnny Depp can help you feel better and continue on with your healthy lifestyle. ;) Let us know what you think of the movie!!!

wow, I havent logged in a few days! Yes we loved POTC2. It doesnt end tho...just leaves you hanging. I was rteading some of the threads on the communty board about some clues and some things I didnt notice so I will probably have to go see it again!

I was back to work yesterday, but I did get exercise. I am trying to catch up on that since I missed some being sick. I did 30 min stairmachine this morning and 20 mins tonite plus 10 mins ablounger.

My boys basketball goal finally got installed today too. Seriously, I talked about this back in march I think. It was his gift for straight As, and it finally got installed today and it is awesome! I will be getting some exercise with it I'm sure. We just have to get a stencil and paint the court markings, I need to figure out how to do that.

Welcome back!! :sunny: Glad to know you're feeling better and already back on track with exercising.

Glad to hear you liked POTC2. I hope to see it this Sunday.

Boy, your food and exercise yesterday were inspiring!! Keep it up!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well I would like to say I followed Maries example and started fresh with a new resolve. Actually, I started out great. I had a 10-6 shift today. Thats always rough, food-wise. I never know whether to have lunch or dinner on my break at work. I had lunch today. I did really well at work. I got home around 6:45 and had to pick up my son from band camp (percussion camp) at 8. My plan was to wait and have dinner after I picked him up. I will let that be a lesson learned. I need to go ahead and eat dinner, then I can have a snack later. Instead I munched when I got home. Baked chips. If i had gone ahead and had dinner I dont think I would have eaten nearly as much as I did. zHeres the damage

Chocolate Crisp Cereal - Artificially Flavored 1 Packet 130
Cheese, Cottage, 2% 1/4 cup 50
Cheese, Cottage, 2% 1/4 cup 50
banana 1 small 90
Chicken Noodle Soup 1 Container 120
Chewy Fudge Bar (NutriSystem Classics) 1.2 oz. 90
Chocolate Pudding 1 Package 100
Apple Cinnamon Soy Chips 1 Package 110
baked chips 1 oz 120
baked chips 1 oz 120
baked chips 1 oz 120
Chocolate Chip Cookies (NutriSystem Classics) .7 oz. 100
Bratwurst 1 oz 96
Bratwurst 1 oz 96
Slimfast Lo-carb Drink 1 190

total cals- 1572

exercise- 40 mins stairmachine 10 mins ablounger 352 cals burned

I know the calorie count doesnt look that bad...actually its not as bad as I thought it would be, but the thing is, when I came home from work I had only had 550 cals so far, so I had 1000 at dinner time and later! Dont you love that I had a slimfast....and bratwurst! :rotfl2:

At least I did my exercises. If I do 50 mins a day I will be caught up by saturday.
I also did lots of water. I dont count my ounces because I carry it with me always, either that or green tea, I dont do soda type drinks. I need something to help with willpower when I'm tired after work. Funny, when I have an evening shift, I dont have this problem (I cant eat when I'm working!) I wish I could do all evening shifts but my crazy work would say....hey...she seems healthy and content....thats not fair.....!!!! I used to work straight 10-6 shifts. It was funny...no one likes this shift.....So I got them all....I even came to work 2 hours early every day...the supes loved it cuz I was always there just in time for the traffic to start....Life was wonderful.....then people decided if I liked it so much it must not be FAIR! Cancelled the shift...everyone must suffer equally! Now I'm just ramling again, sorry! Good night guys!

:hippie:

I didnt eat all of the yucky tortellini either..so it was a bit less. Now all I need to do is string about 90 days like this in a row!

:hippie:

Okay....tada! 2 days in a row of diet/exercise success! I think that is what I will keep track of now. My goal 90 days straight! Yikes....I'm scared already!

Not quite as good a yesterday, because I had meetings so not as much exercise. I had my first "band parents meeting" for my boys high school marching band. I am determined to do better this year, I was a slacker mom last year. My work schedule makes the volunteering thing tough but I'm gonna try to do better. I really need to, because Kev is an amazing drummer and needs my support.

Anyway, when I got home from that it was already 8:30. I decided for my exercise today I would play basketball again. The new goal is all installed (and the new asphault pad). It is awesome. Its a goalrilla and boy can you tell the difference! Anyway I decided to dribble and shoot for 30 mins, moving constantly and dribbling constantly. This is very good exercise and you work your arm muscles as well! I also did 10 mins ablounger.

My food was okay...pretty good for a 4 am get- up ( i eat more because I am awake too long!) Heres today:

banana 1 small 90

Blueberry Bran Muffin 2 Muffins 120

Egg, poached or boiled 1 large 74

Chicken Noodle Soup 1 Container 120

2% cottage cheese 4 oz 90
Chocolate Crisp Cereal - Artificially Flavored 1 Packet 130
Soy Pretzels 1 Package(28g) 120

Chicken Pasta Parmesan 1 Package 220

sugar free fudgesicle 1 40

Chocolate Pudding 1 Package 100

total cals- 1104

exercise- 30 min basletball, 10 min ablounger 234 cals burned

******2 days in a row******

:hippie:

Two days in a row!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's fantastic. Basketball sounds like such great exercise too. Way to go on mixing it up a bit, and doing something that you enjoy. You're on a roll!

I'm not sure where the day went exactly. But its 11 oclock so I guess I'm done. I had to make some "adjustments" to my diet plan for today, but I did them and stayed on track ( at least sort-of). We went to see POTC again so we could try and see all the "clues" this time. It was fun. An entirely different way to watch a movie. anyway, my son had french fries and I ate some of them. :guilty: We didnt get home from the movie until almost 10 and I hadnt had dinner yet so I just had some bran cereal instead. That made up for the french fries and my calories are still okay. Not exactly a healthy variety but I'm gonna accept it. Tomorrow will be tough. Its our town festival and my boy is in the parade and I'm working at a booth. I am gonna try real hard not to eat junk. We got home late so I didnt have much exercise today either, I just hopped on the stairmachine at 10:30 for 20 mins. Heres my food:

Egg, poached or boiled 1 large 74
smoked turkey lunchmeat 1 slice 30
smoked turkey lunchmeat 1 slice 30

fat free ruffles 1 oz=17 chips 70
whipped cream cheese 3 tbsp 90

2% cottage cheese 4 oz 90
Tuna 3 oz 80
Cheddar Cheese Crunchy Curls (NutriSystem Classics) 1 oz. 110

french fries 1 oz 89
french fries 1 oz 89
Chewy Fudge Bar (NutriSystem Classics) 1.2 oz. 90

NutriFlakes Cereal - 40% Bran Cereal 1 Bowl 100

sugar free fudgesicle 1 40

total cals-1022

exercise-20 mins stairmachine 178 cals burned

Since I compensated for the french fries and still stayed within my calorie range, I am gonna give myself credit for this day.

*****3 days ******* :goodvibes

Sounds like a great day to me! I'm jealous that you got to see POTC twice already!! :cloud9: I've yet to see my Johnny. ;) I hope to see the movie this coming week though.

I guess today is the day of the festival you mentioned. Sending pixie dust your way.... I'm having company momentarily and am terrified about the eating and DRINKING for tonight. I hope to still enjoy myself, but exercise some portion control.

Thanks for posting - you're on quite the roll!

:cheer2: :cheer2: WAY TO GO LINDA!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I go away on vacation for less than a week and you and Marie get your tushes in gear! WoW! Ok, I'm gonna have to try and get it into gear too! :cool1:

Your exercise is Awesome!

Hope you had a good time at the festival! And I too am TERRIBLY jealous that you have seen POTC2 twice!! popcorn:: I LOVE   Johnny Depp in full pirate gear! pirate: I have been on a Major pirate kick ever since the first movie came out. I was even given 2 copies for Christmas when in came out :rotfl:

Have a GREAT weekend! pirate:

Today was mixed bag. A big :thumbsup2 for exercise, but :scared: for food. I had to get up early cuz my son had to be at school at 8 to get ready for the parade. Then I went up to the town square and worked in the booth until the parade started, then ran 2 blocks over to watch and take some pics, then I had to walk a about 10 blocks the other way to sign him out so he could stay with me at the festival. Lots of walking in 100 degree weather. I was melting. It was a constant walk so I am giving myself 15 min walking for that. Anyway we walked around for a while looking at the booths. I found a christmas gift for my sister, it was a couple of hand-made rice bowls with chop-sticks. (pottery) . I didnt eat at the festival, so that was good.

When we got home I decided to exercise, and I played basketball for 30 mins (my basketball workout...no stopping moving...no stopping dribbling) Keep in mind its 100 degrees out. Then I cam e in to cool off for a bit and started listening to my boys ipod. (he saved up and bought it himself) He had loaded my jimmy buffet live in hawaii album on it and I was listening to it, so I decided I would take a little walk while I was listening. So thats 30 more minutes in the 100 degree heat!

okay...the food wasnt good. I ate snacks. It was too hot to even think about real meals at all and I was hungry from exercising, but I did stop eating by 7 pm so thats something . Here it is:

Egg, poached or boiled 1 large 74
smoked turkey lunchmeat 1 slice 30
smoked turkey lunchmeat 1 slice 30

Turkey Hot Dogs 1 Hot Dog 90
whole wheat hot dog bun 1 90
smart-beat fat free cheese 1 slice 25
Sun Chips 1 oz 140

Cheddar Cheese Crunchy Curls (NutriSystem Classics) 1 oz. 110

Sun Chips 1 oz 140

sugar free fudgesicle 1 40

frosted oatmeal cookies 5 cookies 160
frosted oatmeal cookies 5 cookies 160

Chewy Fudge Bar (NutriSystem Classics) 1.2 oz. 90

total cals - 1179

exercise- 45 mins walking and 30 mins basketball in sweltering heat 504 cals burned

okay this may be controversial, but I think I am gonna count it as an on track day...I know the food is terrible and I didnt stick to the spirit of the challenge, but the exercise was quite a lot, especially with the heat. So since I am making up the rules...I decide it counts

******4 days*******

* I would asterix this but I already did!

:hippie:

don't ya love it when we can make up our own rules!!! that way if we break them, we can just change it and it will be okay!!

i'd count it as a good day!! and I can totally relate to the 100 degree workouts!!
