what a beautiful day it was today! I got a little sunburned from being outside (not much) I bought one of those polar heart meter things to check my heart rate when I'm exercising, and as suspected, It doesnt get high enough when I'm walking. I was walking my 3.75 miles and it showed an average of 132. :confused3 And that was me watching it and trying to walk faster when it showed lower. This is probably why I have so much trouble losing weight. I never have been able to get the heart rate up where it should be. I can climbing stairs, but the stairwell at work isnt air conditioned so its too hot in there now. I am gonna check it on the stairmachine and see how that is.

Anyway, me and the boy went and saw Over the Hedge tonite. OMG go see it! I was crying I was laughing so much! :rotfl2: My son loved it too! He looked up the web site when we got home. I put Hammy the crazy squirrel as my wallpaper on my computer. Anyway, I grilled some burgers tonite. Turkey burgers. I thought I would try it. They were ok, better than I thought but nothing to write home about. Heres today:

Back to work today, but it was an easy shift. Boring actually.

I did get my walking done today and I did a little better with my HR. I decided to pump my arms and that increased it a little.

hey, just checking in...i've been slacking lately...sorry.
Your "baby girl" is adorable!! We used to have one that looked like that...her name was China...a real love!! Unfortunately, she was a handful, and didn't get along w/ the narcotics dog, so we gave her to some friends...she is SSSOOOOOO happy!!
Also, your boy is quite the handsome one...better watch out ladies!!!
Looks like your doing good on your food & exercise...keep it up!! Although I don't know how you workout in jeans??!!! Either windpants or shorts for me!

I dont usually work out in jeans, usually shorts or those running pants that go just past your knees. It was just cold so I wore jeans that one day. Today I decided to check my HR on the stairmachine. What a bummer. I worked sooo hard trying to get my HR up, I was sweating and exhausted. Mind you I do this exercise ALL THE TIME. My HR for the first 1/2 hour was 123! the next session I got it up to 132! And I was DYING. I was working sooo hard. According to the machine I burned like 2500 cals per hour. (not really of course I never count what the machine says) I cannot believe I wasnt burning any fat . There is simply no way. I had to stop and rest after 30 mins, I usually go straight thru 60. It really torques me off. I dont know why it surprises me, I had to give up on the elliptical at the Y because i could only do up to 135, the same on my nordic track. I do know the arm thing yesterday seemed to help while I was walking, and I dont move my arms on the stairmachine. So I think I am gonna primarily walk like I did yesterday, at least until after vacation when I can run again.

My boy has been working with the camera (he took the pic of arwen). I cant believe I let him take my new 500$ camera to school today but I did. I may be brain damaged....probably aerobic related....not getting enough oxygen to my brain. :sad2:

Hey Linda! :wave: You are doing great! I don't really get the heart rate thing either. I don't have a monitor but that might be interesting to check. The one on the treadmill in the hotel never seemed to work right :confused3

I agree about pumping your arms. A while back when we were walking I decided to do different moves w/ my arms like bicep curls, pumping them overhead etc. Boy did that get my heart pumping! I almost couldn't keep walking at the same pace cause it got me a little over stressed. That has been awhile... I might try that again some now that I am more used to my walking schedule.

I don't know how you managed to keep a low heart rate on the stairmaster! :scratchin Like I've said before that is one of THE Hardest machines to me!

I worked today until 6, so I got home around 640 and quickly changed my clothes and did my walk. I did pretty well HR wise and time I guess. But my battery went dead on my radio so I only did one circuit, that 1 7/8 miles. I did it in 28:47 so that about 15.5 min miles. Thats okay. HR was up in the 160s for part of it but kind of slow to get going. I wanted dinner by then so I decided that was enough.

The boy had his golf championship yesterday. He didnt win but he did okay, a 47. Thats not as good as normal but not too bad. His grampy (my dad) and mimi (my mom) took him. Thats better than you think because they have been divorced for 10 yrs or so and are NOT friendly. So I'm glad that went ok. I had to work of course so I missed it.

Ooops I havent posted since tuesday! Well I know wednesday was horrible, food-wise. Guy at work was talking about a chow run and said Linda you never order anyway, and I said its because you guys always go to the same boring palces and if you went someplace new maybe I would order. So he said like what and I said...maybe italian? So he went and got us Samplers at Fazolis. OMG I ate all of it. Every bite and it was humongous! I looked it up and it was 780 cals! yikes! So that made wednesday about 1600 cals. Yep. (I had brought a carton of chicken noodle soup (120 cals) so I was over 660 cals!

I didnt do too bad yesterday tho, and today I did okay. I got up and exercised first thing. 30 mins stairmachine. Then I did laundry, and had to run get a haircut, then I got my nails done (toes too! :thumbsup2 ). Then I came home and cleaned cleaned cleaned. BLAH I stink at cleaning but I worked really hard. Still doing laundry as well. Had to pick up my boy and he is having a jam session with 2 friends now. They are trying to start a rock band. Gotta love it! I just finished 15 more mins on the stairmachine, didnt have a chance to walk today. I am trying to figure out if I have enough and the right clothes for vacation. I think I will buy a few more shorts and tops just in case tomorrow. I am getting both nervous and psyched for the trip.

Oh I remember why I didnt post now! It was BF Heck! He made me soooo upset I was thinking about breaking up with him BEFORE vacation. (I fully expect to want to break up with him after...these trips are horrible for relationships) He is so not into it and it is making me so mad. I have had to plan the whole thing, and I am driving the whole way by myself! (He cant drive a stick-shift) So I told him I was nervous and needed some help (with the planning, maps etc is what I meant) and he had the nerve to get mad at me for asking. I am nervous only about the driving down part. We cant leave until he gets off work at 4 , so I will be looking for a hotel at 10 or 11pm in the dark. That stresses me out, I always want to know exactly where I am going. Anyway, its okay now, he called and told me "of course hes going to help, why would I think he wasnt? " Duh. Anyway we are taking his son too and another boy so 3 teens and us and he hates the idea. He is not a kid person I guess, and I LOVE kids! Even teens! I think they are fun to be around and keep you young and he thinks they are loud and obnoxious! You can see the conflict I think. Anyway . We are leaving on thursday, arriving friday and he and his son are leaving tues morning, while me and my son and his friend are staying until saturday. So I will have some time to recuperate if it doesnt go well anyway. Enough of that...sorry to rant. :teeth:

Thanks Marie. I think he will be ok as long as I leave him with some beer by the pool! He says its gonna be fine and for me not to worry so I guess thats the best thing to do. I just tend to stress.

I had to get up at 4am for an early shift today , so that makes me sooo tired! I did accomplish some stuff tho. Me and the boy cleaned, vacuumed and washed the car, and set up the dvd players and the x-box and made sure it was all working for the trip, and taped up the wires and stuff to make it neat so the boys can sit in the back without getting tangled in the wires. I think we got it all worked out. I have a honda crv, so 5 ppl is gonna be tight. I hope it will be ok!

Anyway, we went to ponderosa for dinner and got the buffet. All I can say is Yuck! What a waste of time and money. I had about 7 bites of food altogether. So did my boy. Even the brownie I had was teeny. maybe 2 small bites. I logged it all but I seriously doubt the amounts I ate added up to the calories I logged. I cant find a reference for 1 bite dried up chicken.So my cals today are less than what it says I would say quite a bit.
