Linda's goal = Lose wt + 1/2 marathon 09(encouragement welcome)

Great job on that run Linda! I don't know how you do it. Rain is one thing... Windy and snowy...another! :goodvibes

Great job on running in the wind and cold, Linda. Your tenacity is amazing - what an inspiration you are!

Hope you have a good weekend.

Susan

Wow Linda!!! Awesome run. I'm so impressed with your accomplishments. I think you are going to do so amazing in the marathon next year!!! :goodvibes

Have a great weekend :). I hope the weather clears up for us SOON! My driveway is still covered in ice.

Just back from today's run.I was running against the wind of course ;) , I finished in 60:04, a 10:50 pace. I was a little disappointed but I did it.

I have to catch up with everyone's journal tomorrow.

Have a good one everyone,
Linda

Hi Linda...

still battling the tough weather conditions :(. BUT...just think of it this way...when the weather warms up and the winds die down....you are going to be lightening FAST!!! Trust me...you'll speed up that pace sooo much when the nicer weather hits. Mark my words! :thumbsup2

Great job getting out there in windy conditions. Truly the WORST to run in IMO. At least you know you got a tough workout in...the wind adds so much resistance that you really work the quads more.

have a nice weekend.

Running in the wind is the worst! We had some of that here today too! ugh. I'd much rather run in the rain!

Great job! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!

It is now official I recieved my postcard in the mail yesterday, I am in the race!!!!!!!!! No turning back now.

Hoping to get out there today before the rain/ice come again.
Linda

Congrats on being officially in the race! I am sure you are SUPER excited.

And you just keep going, no matter what. You are doing a GREAT job - keep it up!

Hope you have a good one!

Susan

Hi Linda!!

Congrats on everything being official!!!

The best news is....there won't be any snow or ice during the race!!!

Keep up the great work :goodvibes:

Hi Linda,

Congratulations on officially making the WISH racing team. You will have a fantastic time.

Thank you for all the support you have given me. You are an awesome friend.

Beth

Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

Scott- With me there Disney may see snow and ice,it has to be me!

Beth- Your support has meant a great deal to me too.

This afternoon I did head out for a run but the wind p****d me off so I turned around. I went on the treadmill for a run x 30 mins then went directly to the elliptical x 30 mins. That was a great workout. I think I lost 10 lbs of H2O.

Can't wait to get back into a routine like I was in the fall.I am afraid next year I won't have the persistance to make it through the winter running like this year. Next year will be more important with the race on the line.

Praying for spring,
Linda

You rock Linda! And I am right there with you praying for Spring. Or at least some slightly warmer temps and no more icy slush!

Allyson

Great Job Linda!!! It was really windy here yesterday too!

I'm ready for Spring! Looks like it will be cold and rainy here Friday... I really don't want to have use the TM.

Keep up the good work! You're doing awesome!

Stacie

Hi Linda,

Spring is coming. I could tell that the sky was lightening when I got up this morning. Light at 5AM=Spring on the way.

Don't stress about next winter. It is too far away. Besides, you will have the race looming to keep you on track.

Take care,
Beth

Today it was nice out so I had to get out there. The roads remain a mess so time was not on my side but that was OK.I ran 10 miles in 1:47:36, OK since I was all over the place trying to dodge things.

The best thing is according to Runner's World online I burned 1212 calories, alrighty then it was worth it!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great week,
Linda

:thumbsup2 GREAT pace IMO Linda! 10 Miles is a tough run and you knocked it out of the park. Way to go!!! :)

Hey Linda,

Great job on the run, and :thumbsup2 on the calorie burn. Wasn't it nice to be outside in the sun?

Take care,
Beth

I have not been doing very well these past months with my food intake.Eating nothing but junk, getting out there is limited and without exercise it is easier to let it all go.
The scale has not changed but I feel it.I need to get my mindset back.

I think I need a trip down south right about now ;)

Have a great one everyone,
Linda

Hi Linda :)

How are things going? We are just READY for some nice spring weather...then we'll get out there more. I don't know how your running has been....but mine is suffering right now. I am SICK of running in the cold rain; snow; sleet; icy roads; gravel/salt covered roads; wind; dark; frigid temps. OK...you get the idea. This has been a tough winter for running...and I despise treadmills. I sure hope I get my butt in gear once the warm temps hit. Hang in there girl...spring is just around the corner :sunny:.

HI linda -- believe me, i am so with you on that trip down south!! LOL Every year, i hate the winter more and more.. I need to at least get away once during the winter..
