Oooh geeze Leisa, I've been slacking here haven't I. Forgive me? :flower3:

Hope your tummy gets to feeling better!

Glad to know DS survived the plane ride!

Hmmmm... I really need to mull this over, and see how this might pan out in the big picture of things. This is really growing on me. ;)

using the verb mull when discussing food and wine - aren't you quite the clever linguist! That is among the myriad of reasons why I love your PTR!

And...if the dates are flexible...

One of the "host" hotels is the Poly. AND...you get cheaper Theme Park Tickets. For your whole stay.

:hippie::flower3: OK. :rotfl: I always love your visits. Stop by and bring your cheeriness whenever you can!

"slacking" on this pre trip report just means blinking your eyes. It goes soooo fast!

Slackers.

Why thank you. I wondered if anyone would catch that? I'm seeing you here more and more, which makes me think you're feeling all settled in like on the homestead. :laundy:

ouch!! I was going to suggest you get it taken care of, but I'm guessing blankastan isn't a great place to have surgery.

I"m actually going to call an American doctor who works over here for the the ex-pat community. It may well be I will have to come home in the next bit to just get it taken care of super quick like. Hmmmm..... A Nashville meet just may happen sooner than later...

Or, wait, maybe a weekender at EPCOT. :rolleyes1

I know there are some good dentist in the area so I'm sure you could find a surgeon.:thumbsup2

I had the surgery about 11 years ago. It started bothering me early in my 3rd pregnancy...The dr suggested I should have it done during my 2nd trimester, but I toughed it out and prayed like crazy I wouldn't have to have it done until after I had the baby.

Remember when I went home for Grandma's funeral in June?? Well, it so happened that my dad ended up having it done that same week in Bowling Green, so I know where to go. He was up and around in about 4 days. I could tell DH that it's taking A LOOOOOOOT longer to heal than I thought it would and sneak a trip in there- don't ya think??

I remember going to a baseball game the day after...not smart. But it wasn't too bad except for when I moved.

I could always get an EVC or is it ECV?? I can never keep it straight. or a wheelchair and have your MIL come and push me. We'd see a lot, cuz no one'd be in our way!! :lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2: she does use the wheelchair like a battering ram.

but I think an ecv...what exactly does that stand for?

electric chair vehicle? electric crap void? enginered clown vehicle?

You should def go for and ecv...I'd like to see you opperating one while on pain meds.

Wow, aren't you BRAVE!

:rotfl::rotfl:

You need to get it looked at my friend, glad to see you are thinking about it!

You could always do it in portland and assess the rental house at the same time but that's not NEARLY as fun as a weekender at Epcot.

Hmmm... Energized Car of Vehicular (manslaughter), Exceptionally Cool Vamoos-a-mator, Extra Crappy Vespa.

I do, promise I 'll call today.

Can I make a bold confession here?? I REALLY REEEEEEEEEEALY don't want to go look at my old house! I so lovingly hung wallpaper, spent our entire saving on carpet, re-finished the whole basement with our own two hands, al that. I cringe to even think what 10 years of renters has done to it. :scared1: I know I'm going to cry when I see it!!

Haha, so true!

It moves pretty fast, but is ohhhhhhhhh so fun!!!;)

Hey there Liesa! Sorry I've been MIA, I get a chance to read but not always answer. I'm first to tell you (well besides Winkers) that going any where for a while after the surgery isn't probably the best idea. I too thought I could take advantage of my surgery. My idea was to take advantage of having my son at my girlfriends for a few days so hubby and I could have some alone time doing the couple thing. I told my DH I wanted to go to breakfast the next day, he reluctantly took me out, and as we sat there waiting for our food.....it hit me. I felt like a MACK truck hit me, backed up and started all over again! I thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but after the surgery it took me 7 weeks to feel like the ol' me. You tire out really fast, who knew healing took so much energy?!? :confused3

:rotfl: You should try going with my mom! When she goes to Wal-mart, she takes out endcap displays and acts like she doesn't even know that she did it! :rotfl: She just keeps going on like it wasn't her...:moped: It's always a hoot to watch and see who or what my mom will take out while shopping. Hey Winkers, maybe we should get your MIL together with my mom, they would be a two woman demolition team!

Ooooh Liesa, I'm there with you on that one. My dh wanted us to start renting out property that we owned, I just couldn't think about it after just having a baby at the time. But that was one of the thoughts that went through my mind. I feel for you. But! Look at it this way, you can fix it how you want and then it will all be up graded and pretty again. Will you sell it after remodeling? I think you said something about it being in a bad neighborhood, right? By the way, who did you have managing it? My DH did finally start buying, fixing up and renting property with a friend, but they have a managment team to over see things, now I'm wonder if they actually make note of damage or things of that nature?? I take it your managment company didn't take care of things for you? Hang in there, maybe it won't be as bad as you think.

7 Weeks??!! That would mean I might even have a hard time getting back here!! :scared1: That really puts a new spin on getting your guts carved up and thinking you'll be fine afterwards. Hmmm.... maybe no EPCOT, afterall...

Whatever we do, we won't be going back to that house. I've at least convinced DH that that isn't an option. It's too small and in the 'hood. Nevertheless, if we want out of it what it's really worth, we will need to put a lot of work into it. Blech! We have a prop. manager, but we don't think he's really watching it very carefully. At least we've only had one turn over in the last 10 years, so that's a good thing.

Don't worry about getting behind! I get behind on most of my threads too, esp, the ones on the TR thread! Seems I just have so much fun over here, I forget sometimes to get over there. Love it when you ARE here, though!

Congratulations to Shannn, that'snice, eandesmom, Piper'sMom, Glennbo123, JPFamilyMom, StefaniLyn, and jenb1023 for guessing:

Riverside Mill Food Court!!!!!

I think we can safely say that at least once during our trip here, the 3 of us will saunter down in our elegant ball gowns searching for romance and adventure in the form of eggs and pancakes. I mean let's face it, a pretty Southern Belle certainly can't charm the parks without a real plateful of hearty victuals!! Since we'll be brewing our own coffee, we'll be skipping the Nescrappe, but you know we'll be going in deep with the OJ, Mickey Waffles and, what Southern Belle with half a brain (which, you do remember, is more than we have left (except you, maroo)) would go without trying the biscuits and gravy at least once?? WHAT??!! You say there are no biscuits and gravy??!! :scared1: Well, you've barely redeemed yourself Riverside Food Mill by serving grits.

Here's the plan. I'm pretty sure LeeAnn and I, or at least some time during the trip, the 3 of us, can get away with splitting some CS lunches and be able to save a couple of credits for a breakfast, or even 2, here at the Mill.

The following was supposed to turn out like an image, but sadly did not. Obviously, I have no idea how to do that. However, if you are inclined to, you may click on the link and your computer will magically transport your gaze to a dazzling image of the inside of the joint. Go ahead, I know you're pretty excited.

And that will be the whole crux of the matter. Dates.

Andrew's school, IF he goes to WKU will start on the 30th?? I would visit my family from the 25th or so until the 5th when we check in. That would make my whole trip about 3 weeks. That, my friend, is about the VERY longest I could possibly get away with.

I am ASSUMING that a parent really should be there to help her kid get "settled" at school. Am I wrong here?? Aren't there papers that will need to be signed?? Contracts, loan stuff, grant stuff, housing junk and all that? or am I making some faulty assumptions??

Honestly, I really don't think I'll know for certain what the timing of things is going to look like for at least another month. I will certainly be PUSHING for a decision one way or another (keeping my trip the same or pushing it out to October) by our March ADR date. (the 8th, I believe).

It's no wonder my gall bladder keeps my up all night long...

College...
When I went to school...all of our forms and such for loans were completed before we moved in. We had a couple of days before school for Freshman Orientation where the parents would come and go to class and the students would go to a separate class.

Then you have move in day...and once that is over...generally the parents are supposed to leave.

And I would think for a boy, it would be even more so...??

And since you will be in the States and not going back - I assume - then you would be close by at any rate.

:rolleyes1

I really hope you can get that fixed soon. The longer it festers, the worse the surgery may be - or is that appendix?? :confused3

But a weekend at Epcot?!? hmmmmm

I was back at work in 3 days. But I am crazy like that. And I had a lap and was home the same day.

I could always get an EVC or is it ECV?? I can never keep it straight. or a wheelchair and have your MIL come and push me. We'd see a lot, cuz no one'd be in our way!! :lmao::lmao:

Now THAT would be funny!

But...you would be shocked how hard it is to tour with one of those. But your feet won't hurt. :thumbsup2

Well, that's not what I wanted to hear. I wanted to hear, "Yes, your son will need you to be there in Kentucky, to take care of all sorts of things; your presence will be ABSOLUTELY required! In fact, your son cannot start school without your coming."

Then DH will have no choice but to let me go. And once I"m gone.... well you know...;)

I really hope you can get that fixed soon. The longer it festers, the worse the surgery may be - or is that appendix?? :confused3

The clinic wasn't open today, I"ll try again tomorrow. :confused3

Doesn't that sound so totally pirate-y fun?! pirate:

Sounds frightening to me! You do know I haven't driving in like a year and a half? :rolleyes1

:I would rather do the race at the beginning of the trip...rather than the end...so my feet can handle it! :upsidedow

Oh....and we could.........do a relay... if someone in our little group is up for doing 5 miles (and I will do the 8 mile portion)......:rolleyes1
AND...(I keep adding to this post....)....

One of the "host" hotels is the Poly. AND...you get cheaper Theme Park Tickets. For your whole stay.

Exactly why I'm planning on putting the race at the begining of my trip.

The rest is sounding so enabling!
