This morning my DD 5 made me proud. We were discussing our upcoming trip and I told her that we were staying in a hotel that the monorail went to, and without missing a beat, she said "But Dad, that is NOT where we stay!"

I am so proud!!!!:p
And so you should be!!

Looking forward to our second stay at the Lodge for Christmas week...a first time for us at the parks this time of year. We always rent a car but wonder if we should cancel this time. Love the boat ride to MK but the monorail to TTC and then Epcot is a lot of walking (up and down the ramps).

What method do you guys prefer from WL? And will that particular week make waiting on the bus a long ordeal? Thanks for sharing your experiences! This is a great site! ::yes::

Just take the bus to Epcot. It goes direct (except for maybe a quick stop at GF). I found WL to Epcot (bus) much easier than CR to Epcot (monorail, w/ change at TTC).

We used Disney transportation the whole time. We did not have a rental car. The longest I had to wait for a bus or boat was 10 minutes.

Morning!!!!
What a great day!! Super weather in in Florida today.

ratpack - my dd stayed with my mom on Monday and mom said she talked her EARS off about the Lodge! WEE!!!!! Aren't 5yr olds the best!
Betsy

ps...I think Fred is lost under all those CDs!!

Park Hoppers have to be enjoying this right? Could not have ordered a better few days of weather

Ratpack & DisneyDmbNut The Apple does not fall far from the tree. LOL

cheriesam, it's a personal chooice, but I never move the car. Like the old Bus Company saying, I leave the driving to them.

mom2poohfan, PM a darkness update to you. I will post sunrise and sunset times on the, demanded, WL Climate Conditions.
How mah doin boss?

To the rest, Good Morning.

Cherie - I NEVER see my car while I am in the World...In fact, this past Feb...my car was COVERED in pollen cause it never got moved!! LOL

I just found out that you can ask to be a "flag family". Has anyone done this?
Hmmm..you NEVER stop learning!!!

Cheriesam

When we go to EPCOT we take the bus from WL...unless the bus to TTC comes first...then we ride that bus 2 min (max) to TTC and catch the Monorail from there...also have reversed process to come back to WL from EPCOT...We love the Monorail and make sure we ride at lest once every trip. The bus to EPCOT has differant schedules because we usually share a bus with Ft. Wilderness Campground when we go, and that does seem to take quite abit longer.

Have a great trip...

Go to Majestics WL photo site, he has a folder of pics when he and is family did it back in September.

FC...your weather reports are great...I know if I was leaving soon (I wish) that they would be most appreciated....all the weather sounds better coming from you rather than just reading it on the net.

Ratpack..glad to see you are training them young!!:teeth:

shopgirl72.....congrats on your extra magic!!

OT-----just wanted to say thanks for the PD that was sent my way....I'm sure that in part it is due to that support that got me the coveted ticket to the special Bon Jovi show in Atlantic CIty!!! :hyper: I am so excited and feel so lucky to be seeing the guys in such a small venue and in Jersey no less!! Thanks for the support!!::yes::

Good morning, all. My boyfriend and I will be taking my 4 yo grandson back to Disney in March, and this will be our first stay at WL. We'll be staying in a concierge room, and I would like to arrange with the concierge to have a welcome gift in the room for my grandson on arrival. I'm wondering if any of the WL "veterans" could give me an idea of what is available in the Gift Shop that a 4 year old would love. I know I want a T-shirt, but what else is cute?

Also, does anyone know of anywhere on line I could view some WL merchandise???

Thanks so much for any help anyone can give me.

Regards,

Donna Curran

I’ll leave the concierge question to Corky, but the Mercantile Gift Shop has all the standard fare, shirts, hats, CD, towels, nick knacks and games. They also have a snack area in the back. If you want a quick snack or drink you can pick it up here on your way to the bus depot or back to your room. They also carry a lot of sundry items, diapers, first aid type things I should point out they are cheaper on many like items then Roaring Forks. A neat place to browse.

Giatocj,

I had a Pal Mickey waiting in the room for my niece this past Sept. with a mini-itinerary for her I made before I left home with fun facts I found here on the DIS..like which horse is Cinderella's on the Carrousel, Hidden Mickeys in the HM ect...I'm sure you'll get many more great ideas.

Have a great stay at WL.:wizard:

giatocj,

Welcome to our happy thread!
Concierge will be happy to do this for you. :D I can offer a few suggestions and if they are not what you are looking for they will offer some ideas as well.

autograph book
"fat" pen
pin lanyard
post cards
mickey pretzels/cookies
pal Mickey
If he has a specific favorite character ask concierge..they will probably be able to do something with that character

I would also suggest that you bring/get him a disposable camera of his own....my son loved taking his own pics.

Have a wonderful trip....HTH

FC- Thanks for the weather reports! I went ahead and through a couple pairs of long pants and a jacket in the suitcase for both myself and DS.

mom2poohfan- Looks like we will arrive the same day. Our flight arrives @ around 11:00 so should arrive at the lodge around noon or so. Hope to run into you. :earsboy:

Sorry I took so long to reply - YEP! I am in the town right over from Cranford... and I am currently looking to move to either Cranford or Westfield.

Two more weeks and not much planning yet - I can't believe these people at work expect me to actually work!!!!! I do have a chart with each of the days that I will be there, which park has early entry which day, and what times the fireworks and parades are at each park.

I guess its a start!

At least I'm not a newbie - I can probably wing it from there!

:D I just arranged a Pal Mickey to be waiting in the room for my 5 and 2 year olds when we arrive on Dec 3rd. The concierge staff were extremely helpful and we handled everything through email and 1 phone call (had to call to give them my credit card number). They are even arranging a birthday surprise for my youngest that will be turning 2 during the trip (thanks Fred for the information on that!!) I just can't say enough about the staff there and I haven't even met them yet. You should also check out www.Giftsofalifetime.com they will deliver to your room.

Our last stay in May, I had arranged the following to be in the room upon checkin:

Buzz Lightyear Lanyard
Pretzels and candy
Guest of Honor name tags for all of us

I had also requested Chocolate covered strawberrys and champagne to be delivered later.

It was great!

I would have done the fat pen and autograph book, but my DS 4 already has 2 of each :)

You can pretty much ask for anything and as long as they sell it somewhere in the park, they will most likely get it for you.

Please note that you will need to provide a credit card to the CM so they can do the shopping for you.

Have fun!

Liv2cdworld,

I would love to surprise my husband with the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, how did you go about it? Who did you call, was it the front desk? We are not staying concierge, does that matter? :D

Proves my point, aska question and get an answer. Have we got it together or what?

I stayed Concierge last time. You could always call the front desk about 4 days before your check-in (they will have your ressie by then).

We never ate all the strawberries and we ended up bringing the champagne home with us  .

I had DH snowed!! He was wearing his "Guest of Honor" badge until around the 3rd day when he found out that I plotted to have them there. After that, he didn't wear it again  . What's up with that?

I haven't visit this end of the boards in a while!

do you remember me ;)

I CAN NOT believe HOW HUGE your thread is!
I have a LOT of reading to catch up on!
Well we are planning our next trip for May 2004!

Now here is my question for ya -
How the h*ck do I get a WL vet tag without loosing my others

Disney - I'm sure not really- dumb nut -
We did Flag Family during our October 2002 stay -
it was AWESOME and Ranger Stan was sooo kewl!
We were lucky we were there for ten days - cuz it was booked up for seven! :teeth:
