DisneyDMBNut- On my way to Brother Bear with the family tonight, and then its off to the Wilderness Lodge tommorrow morning for our 7 day trip. We bought the kids Koda PJs and some stuffed animals from the movie. Going to sneak to the room before they get up there and surprise them on the bunk beds.:bounce:

FloridaCat - The weather for the coming week scares me.... can you please do something about that, thanks.:jester:

As they say in Brother Bear, "Hey everybody I'm on my way..."

Enjoy your trip and PD that it is all your heart desires.

I'll work on the weather, but Monday looks damp right now.
Tweak the beak of Hemphrey. He is in the lobby, but you have to find him.

Did you get the 411 you needed on the transportation thng?

My 2 cents:
depends

:p I know that doesn't help much - it all depends on your personality - I didn't mind waiting 5 minutes for a boat and having to go over to Fort Wilderness once in a while.

Also who's with ya -
the bus to Downtown Disney wouldn't have been SOOO bad if dh didn't have to sit with a stroller squished up on his lap the whole way (throught fort wilderness too)

I am pretty laid back and I think next time we will skip the rental (we went to offsite stuff to last trip and I got a great rate too.)

The monorail is only a boatride away ;)

If you are an earlybird you MUST get up at 6ish and go get in the hot tub!

IT IS AWESOME! I would stop at Roaring forks and make myself a 'cappuccino - ok I would just make a coffee and add a package of hot chocolate - but it tasted good - lol

jump in the hot tub ALL BY MYSELF (except the cm straightening out the chairs around the pool)

It was BEAUTIFUL to look at the lodge with all its lights - and sooo quiet! then as the sun rose I switched seats in the hot tub - and watched the sunrise AND the first Gyser of the Am before going to wake the troops!

I know this was a couple pages back, but this thread is tough to keep up on! I just wanted to say that that suggestion is lovely- I hope I can get my butt out of bed before everyone else does! Thanks for the tip!

Saw Brother Bear tonight. Very good movie. The backdrop resembles where I was stationed with the Air Force, Northern Alaska. True to all Disney Movies, it had a good life lesson.

Ratpack, Noles played a great game. I have been a football fan for so many years, I know what goes around, comes around. The Canes getting their lunch handed to them was a real surprise.

Hi All!

DD and I are back from 6 nights at the WL- what an awesome place. Can't wait to go back. My DD made me promise that when we returned it would be for at least one more day.

The only bummer was no towel animals. My DD didn't miss them as she didn't know about them. I was hoping for them so I could see her enjoyment of them. Oh well, maybe the next trip. It was DDs first trip (she is 6 1/2) so I saw her enjoy the magic of Disney plenty through out the trip.

We were in 5097 which technically is a 'woods view' but it was more a 'roof with trees' view. It was a room with bunk beds which DD loved. I loved opening the door to the lobby each morning. Made for taking pics in the early morning easy as I could still be in proximity of my room since I was traveling solo with DD. We were basically right above (5 floors above) the check in counter. Hardly any noise at all and we could scope out how busy Wispering Canyon was for breakfast without going too far.

I loved hearing the music in the lobby and wished they had a WL Lobby Music Compelation CD. I looked for one in the Mercantile but no luck. Anybody know of one?

Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and WL tips!!!

Any of you heading there for the first time soon- have a great time!! We loved it and can't imagine staying anywhere else. It was fun to take the boat to MK and a quick bus trip to Transportation Center.

Enjoy!!!

Well welcome home and always glad to hear how somene enjoyed the Lodge. Good report, enjoed readingiti and thanks to you I could hear the music and smell the firplace smoke.

Morning All!!!
Looks like tomorrow I will be in my less than 3 months countdown!! WEEEE!!!

Someone had a link that had the room #'s listed...who was this...I am starting to think about what room I would like.
Thanks!

Call me a worry wart, but I'm gettin a little nervous over the fact that we haven't heard from Fred. It's out of character for him don't you think?

Hi!
I just moved the thread, I believe you were referring to, up to the 1st page.

Enjoy!

Hi Everyone! I'm planning a trip in summer 2005, and I think I'll give the Wilderness Lodge a try this time. We loved the AKL this summer, but I would like to stay closer to all the action. Anyway, we've stayed at OKW and really like the villa style with all the extra room. Has anyone done both the WL (regular room) and the Villas. I don't want to miss out on anything by staying in the Villas instead of at the actual Lodge. Does everyone have the same privledges to pools, hot tubs, flag family experience, etc? Is it a long walk to FW for campfires, movies? I just thought I'd check out this thread and see what I can learn in one year, 7 months, 2 weeks, 3 days...................!!!
