You are right, but the thinking is they got caught with their pants down. The parks were dead and then when Disney had the three day press event to annouce all the new things, it just exploded and all reports it has been that way ever since.

This is "our time of the year" when I tell the folks back home to come down and many locals I have talked to are amazed

I never "follow" a receipe, I "throw" things together. I've gotten so great ideas I may use w/ my next bird! Love to try that Alton Brown method, just not for a holiday!

Sorry to bother you with this. I'm sure you've posted directions a few times before but I can't locate them. We will be driving down Route 4. Exit 26 is the best exit....right?

Milage markers have been changed. They are the mileage from Daytona Beach to Tampa. So you can figure how many miles you have left to go.

The exit is 64B and follow the MK signs. Be alert as it is easy to get into the MGM lane, stay in the far left lane. When you get to the MK gate, go though the third from the right. Far right is buses, the next CM's.The CM at the gate will tell you to follow the green line on the road, stay to the right of it. You are now five minutes from the Lodge.

Watch for WL & FW signs and follow to the security shack. They will give you your parking pass. When the road widens stay in the left lane and drive up to the Lodge, a "Ranger" will come out to greet you.

The fun begins, tweak th beak of Humphrey and the Magic begins. Finding him is your job. Want a great pic of the family take one as they enter the lobby.

FC....that was some pep talk.it gave me goose bumps and almost made me cry!! I am a bit of a sap usually....but that was just great! I will be eternally grateful for Kimmar starting it up and getting it going.....and I will always be grateful for finding such great and helpful people such as yourself on the thread!! Could someone please give me an estimate of the distance from the dock to the seat in the Mouse Boat?
I'm pretty sure I can get down to the dock by myself and I'm hoping I can get in the Mouse Boat on my own.

If I remember correctly it was only like 12" - 18" tops to step down from dock to seat of mouse boat. Does that sound about right to anyone else that has ridden one?

crazy4themouse There have been warnings about packing film. Make sure your shipper does not send boxes rhrough X-Ray.
Might want to throw in a pair of long pants and a light jackets. Gets cool when the Sun goes down.

Rat Pack, Thanks for the info. I can handle that without becoming too much of a spectacle. And I'm wondering about that WL Music also. I've got a bunch of it on a Western's Theme Music CD but it would be great to have it all on one CD.
As the date draws close I'm allowing myself to get a bit more excited. I can't wait to see the look on my family's face when they walk into the WL. I may have to start an "I can't wait to see...." thread just to contain myself. I've got 2 months of keeping my big mouth shut to go and it's getting tough. I don't know how I'm going to make it through all the upcoming family gatherings. Everybody involved knows we're going to WDW, a few suspect the WL but nobody but little ole me knows the entire itinerary.

Yes, today is just one of the most beautiful days. This is why I moved to Florida.

Also, we are going to be at the lodge 12/11 - 12/17. Hope to run into some of you.

This morning my DD 5 made me proud. We were discussing our upcoming trip and I told her that we were staying in a hotel that the monorail went to, and without missing a beat, she said "But Dad, that is NOT where we stay!"

I am so proud!!!!

Looking forward to our second stay at the Lodge for Christmas week...a first time for us at the parks this time of year. We always rent a car but wonder if we should cancel this time. Love the boat ride to MK but the monorail to TTC and then Epcot is a lot of walking (up and down the ramps).

What method do you guys prefer from WL? And will that particular week make waiting on the bus a long ordeal? Thanks for sharing your experiences! This is a great site!
