Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

my FIL's appointment was canceled again but they were able to call and get the results of the PET scan.

The Pet Scan showed NO HOT SPOTS. They didn't see anything else that was suspicious except for a tiny spot on his side down by his waist. They are saying that is a "medium" spot. I have no idea what that means.

He is rescheduled to meet with the surgeon on Monday so we aren't entirely sure what this means for prognosis but are aware it is good news.

Mary Ellen, any more light you can shed is greatly appreciated as always!

Thanks for all your prayers we really appreciate it! Stay tuned for further results.

I guess it sounds like good news right?

Thank God!

 Your binder pages - I could get down with that size - maybe you could send me your Sunday Aug 15 page so I could see if I could work with it? :worship: pretty please? (angelmum3 at yahoo dot com) IF its not too much trouble, or nuisance...

Here you go!

You can find all the binder page layouts here on shutterfly site.

or by clicking on my DISign banner in my siggie, going to the journal pages and then the eandesmomamoflauge album.

You can download them from there.

there are

  • 4 background pages (AK, DHS, MK,WS)
  • 4 template layouts with no characters
  • 7 template layouts with characters.
The 11 templates all use the MK background. If you have a character request, just let me know :)

That's great to hear. Glad you got some news...the waiting is terrible....and that it was good.

OOOOOOO Bag Talk! I was waiting :thumbsup2;)

Um...got nothing for you on that topic....

New binder:thumbsup2

I still can't get over how cool your pages look.....

Me either, but I gotta admit the gold wallet thingee does seem to go well with the Tink bag thingee since it's got a gold handle.

That's great news about your FIL! I'm glad that those results were good.

I see why you wouldn't want to carry Tink around all the time, but I still think she's cute.

I have to start thinking of park bags--the backpack is not a necessity without the kids. I might even (dare I say it?) go bagless! If I carry my camera around my neck, I can do it.

We think so. All I know is hot spots would not have been a good thing, even if they turned out to be cancer. Not a clue what a medium spot means.

Thanks! Hopefully he will have the appointment on Monday and we will get more information but at least he can relax a little and enjoy the weekend (I hope). He is feeling a little bit worse, sounds like he has a cold on top of it all.

Thanks! Yeah...she is just so darn big. I really wish she was smaller.

I'm a big fan of cargo pant capri's for going bagless. I put my credit card holder in one pocket and a lip gloss, camera in the other and presto! No bag! and nothing in a front or back pocket where it would bug me.

It doesn't work with shorts though...makes my shorts fall off! So for august I'll need something....

aw - THANK YOU!! :worship:

Thanks so much! They look even cooler in the binder, pictures coming soon but I am SO happy with them! And the binder. I think I have a solution for my snack/cs "page" just need to figure out how to execute it and then figure out how to deal with show times.

gotta love ebay!

What I can do is take all the text off of the page and upload a "blank" version that would have all the images, sticky notes ect. I think if you then download it you could probably try pasting it into powerpoint and then place text boxes over it?

The native file is illustrator so unless you have the software it won't work. I don't believe photoshop will let you edit text for an illustrator file but am not sure. I can also upload the 4 single sheets and you can try creating your own stickies in either PowerPoint or any other software you want to place over the backgrounds.

I'll try to get these all into high-res jpgs and will put on the DISisgn site for anyone to use :) I have several of the single pages with disney images ready to go so will put what I have on there, all in the single page format.

I can also do a double blank if you want, just let me know as on those I'll have to remove my text for it to work on your end.

One of these days I'm going to understand all that lingo!!

I really thought I could just click and edit your text!! (in a program of course!!)

my pleasure, let me know if you have any problems or questions.

well if you own Adobe Illustrator.....but it's not terribly user friendly. There is a free version of online Photoshop but it's only good for image editing I think.

You can do a surprising amount with PowerPoint if you have it...just make a text box and then angle it however you want!

and sorry about the lingo! oops!

I'm not sure what the "medium" spot is. I suspect it could even be artifact, but the fact that the original tumor did not light up is good. I suspect that the surgeon with schedule him for a thoracotomy, wedge resection, possible upper lobectomy (crap I forget what side you told me it was on). I hope the surgeon can do this robotically which makes the incisions tiny and really speeds the recover.

thoracotomy - incision into the chest wall
wedge resection - resection of a piece of the tumor to get a biopsy
lobectomy - removal of the tumor and the entire lobe of the lung.

The other possibility is an open lung biopsy - done purely for diagnosis. Only the surgeon can tell you whether he thinks the entire tumor is able to be resected. He can tell that from looking at your FIL's CT scan of the chest.

I could be wrong, I don't have all the clinical information sitting right in front of me, but what you desribed seems pretty accurate.

Keep me posted. I hope Monday's appt does not need to be rescheduled.

Thought I'd share - I've been gleaning info for a binder!! :goodvibes

http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/trip/wdwplkit.pdf
(if you look on the left side of this page, go to downloads for your trip etc and see what else mouse for less has that's easy to access and print!!)

mouse for less has some good downloads - esp journals - DD has always loved the journal - dh prints the pages and gets them bound in a spiral (Kinkos has a book binder machine, when you dont have fancy pages, just computer pages printed, it only costs $1 or $2? but apparantly Kinkos will NOT print out any Disney images due to copyright laws)

and I do have Power point - I did grab one of your pages and opened it and was trying to figure out how to add text to it!! Thank you for pointing me to Power point - havent tried that yet!!

I subbed in the Tech class where they did "layers" and I was able to help over 40 kids (and yes, some of the kids helped me - pointing me to the right clicks!!) so you'd think I could recall that info!!

Thanks! That all jives with what Jeff and I thought. We are frustrated with his stepmom (bless her heart, I adore her but...) she absolutely is overwhelmed with the medical lingo and information and neither of them are asking very good questions and thus don't have good answers for us. It's hard being so far away!

He did say his dad mentioned robotic surgery so apparently that has already come up so that was good to hear.

Right, my files are available to download as a jpeg. Unless you had Illustrator, the native file (.ai) won't do you any good and it's huge.

And has LOTS of layers.

:)

What you then need to do is insert it as an image into another program to layer text on top of it. PowerPoint is a cheap way to do it since most people already have it.

Costco can make lovely booklets as well, i've done several catalogs and directories through them

This is exactly what keeps me in the dark ages. Sorry ladies, I can talk bags, I can talk uber, OCD planning (sans graphic arts), and I can even talk about the virtues of Beverly, but I cannot go into these dark alleys with you.

Nevertheless, I'll spend my late evening hours with you, enjoying the shop talk and contemplating the harvest party at church tom. It will be fun watching how another culture celebrates "Thanksgiving". Good night all!

LOL about cargo pants. I said I would never get them, but yesterday I bought 3 pairs of cargo pants for work and my upcoming trip.

I said I was dork!

Enjoy Thanksgiving 'Stan style!

They are great vacation pants and camping/hiking pants! And if you look hard enough, there are some very cute ones out there.

I'm glad to hear good news about your FIL! I'll continue to pray.
I love the Tink bag! Your binder find is great!

A good news about FIL! I'll continue to pray for him! I hope all goes well on Monday and you guys can finally get some firm answers soon!

Cynthia,

I was so happy to hear about your FIL---:goodvibes...that does sound like news heading in a positive direction...:thumbsup2

I know what you mean about getting info from parents...:sad2:...my inlaws are the worst with that...and they are from that generation where they don't like to question the doctors...it can be very frustrating...

Hurray...there are Disers that are in the medical field like MEK who can at least give you some reassurance...and let you know what seems to be going on...:)

Ok...kind of hate to bring this up in the same post drastic change in direction

but...

Do you have the D&B Mickey/Disney handbag...and if you do...do you think it would make a nice 16th b-day gift...?

(for some reason I'm sensing you're a shopping kind of girl...:rolleyes1) and I'm thinking for budget reasons it might make sense to buy stuff and put it away for Alice's 16th...I probably should set a budget first...

and I saw that bag and though it was pretty cute...I'm mulling it over...

(Jordan-if you're reading...sorry about the bag stuff...we can't help it...it's in our DNA...:lmao:)
