Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Love the binder! I like how the fonts appear to be handwritten, and things look like they're tacked-onto a bulletin board. Cool.

Any suggestions on categories I might be missing would be great!

I didn't do a binder. I had a couple of spreadsheets that I printed in very small font, almost microfiche size, that I put in my wallet. I took some ribbing over those from my beloved family.

I had the master plan - what parks which days, ADR #'s and times, etc.
I had one for discounts - what stores gave DVC discounts, Disney Visa discounts (only World of Disney), and restaurants accepting the Tables in Wonderland card.
I had one with all of the Epcot entertainment showtimes that I created from Steve Soares' website.

I think a "dork" is a good thing!! :goodvibes

I'm going to have to look into the possibilities of doing/making a binder - I use my passporter - write in pencil and just erase everything for the next trip! I have a "journal" (think of those blue books/memo things that they sell at Target for 50 cents at Back-to-school days - not spiral, 5x7 size maybe? :confused3 NOW THAT's dorky!!)

I absolutely love, love, love your binder pages...:cool1:

(I totally get the wanting something smaller to take into the parks...I always struggle with that too...::yes::)

I get that desire to have something that all matches and yet has just a bit of variety to differentiate it...it keeps that certain "chic" yet cute to it...;)

What programs are you using to do this stuff (is it the same stuff that is used to do the digital scrapbooking...?)

BTW-so sorry you were feeling crappy...and hope your are on the mend...

(Any new news on FIL-sending good thoughts are prayers...)

Yeah I took some ribbing too....until they wanted the snack list!

I might just make a page for the Epcot showings, that is a great idea. I can't fit it all on each page and since we plan to hop I think I'll need to make show pages for each park at the back for reference.

Great idea on the discounts too!

spiral notebooks rock :)

I'm actually doing it all in Illustrator. I've not really done any digital scrapbooking or checked out the programs so I"m not sure how flexible that would be.

I am on the mend, thanks! Hopefully by the weekend I'll be back on my workout routine, the kids have early release 3 days this week so it is monkeying with my schedule.

FIL had the PET scan yesterday, and the breathing test. Breathing test was fine and PET scan results went straight to the surgeon. Apparently the pulmanologist (sp?) has already been in contact with the surgeon so hopefully he has everything he needs. He is meeting with the surgeon in about a half an hour so hopefully I will know more soon!

Thank you for asking.

Wow, I'm so, so far behind.:sad2: Let's see, LOVE your binder pages! You are quite the impressively creative lady. I wish I had a trip planned so that I could get you to make me some pages.:) Your plans look good. You'll all enjoy both of those hotel choices. Prayers are going up for your FIL and all of you. The waiting must be maddening.

I use Steve's site too.:thumbsup2

I remember using it for the Biergarten show times and it was spot on. The CM who I spoke to when I made my ADR was too though lol.

I do need to figure out how to get them into the binder. I think I am page challenged now though....

Thanks! And when you do, I'd be happy to :)

The wait IS madding! The doctor's appointment was canceled today with the lung surgeon. He was called intosurgery. He is rescheduled for tomorrow at 1:45pm. So now I need prayers that he actually has his appointment!

They have asked for a preliminary report on the PET scan, but not sure the doctor is going to be able to call us with any news because they have the CD with it, with them, to take to the surgeon. They think their doc could call the radiologist who read the pet scan, but not sure what the protocol is on all of that. We may have to wait until tomorrow.

Given that we've not heard from them since this update I am assuming they didn't get any information.

First a no update, update on FIL.

His appointment today was CANCELED.

:sad1:

The surgeon was called into surgery. Rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Is there a pulling your hair out emoticon?

:sad2:

On to other things.

So I've been hanging onto Mickey. Seeing if something better presented itself.

Today, while doing a quick return at PaperZone I decided to pop into Aaron Brothers and see if any of the photo brag books caught my eye as a binder cover.

And I found this....

IMG_3330.jpg

IMG_3333.jpg

on Clearance. For $3.99!

I  this. It's soft, it's thin, it will fit in a bag quite nicely!

It is however slightly page challenged. I will only be allowed 24 pages. Which could be tough but I'm up for the challenge.

Funny how falling in love with a four dollar binder cover totally kicked Mickey to the curb. But it did. He is going home. Shows me I wasn't that sold on him in the first place.

It doesn't match.

It DOES match my binder pages though! Perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll print some up and take a pic, it's not the same looking at the black interior. Once I get my printer to work again. It likes to uninstall itself almost daily. Drives me nuts.

As a result I'm rethinking the park bag.

First though, check out my ten dollar Tink. I love her! The yellow is actually a burnout velvet. Adorable!

IMG_3331.jpg

see how cute my binder is with Tink? They were meant to be.

But she's a bit large for everyday. I may try this

IMG_3332.jpg

A bag I love but rarely use as the straps seem to slide off my shoulder and it doesn't work cross body. I'm going to test using it more this fall to see if it is really an issue. It will fit everything but does get a bit "fat" My camera and phone aren't in the bag in this shot.

IMG_3334.jpg

But the binder fits, as does a glasses case.

I also have this

IMG_3335.jpg

an older than dirt Old Navy bag that is super light and multi purpose. And that I use a TON as it's so flexible! A bit ratty but....it's got exterior pockets! It's a bit bigger than I want though.

Or maybe I will find something better.

A few more binder pages to see!

I am going to have to limit it to 24 total. Which means 11 of the double page spreads and 2 single pages. Not sure how I'll do that but I'm on a mission to make it fit, the binder is just too perfect.

I'll likely just carry a small notebook to jot things down in, those are quite slim, I've had my eye on one for a while that would work well.

The last one is my first Disney day page! Trying to cram a lot of info on there and still make it readable. Glenbo made a great point about showtimes and while I plan to put some on park specific days, the reality is on almost everday I am building in a swimming break. Followed by a hop. So that would be 2 parks of showtimes to fit in. I think I'll need to decide if showtimes should be at the back and then CS/Snacks elsewhere somehow (a pullout? Laminated? goodness!) or if I should try to get them onto the pages.

Obviously I haven't filled in park hours but you get the idea...I think.

On the Disney page I am trying to fit in images that represent the group.....Who is this?

What else am I missing??? After the transfer day I can lose a few of the notes and maybe give them up to show times, but still, the overall space avail will be about the same.

And just so you know...the cocktail list means one or the other...not both!

Or at least I don't think so....:rotfl:

Next, a HandyDandyDiningDirectory!

I use Steve's site too.:thumbsup2

Steve's site is great, especially for those little things, like the MS Trolley Show, the Chinese acrobats, Miyuki, etc.... I used his info a lot last trip.

What a pretty binder and how beautifully she coordinates with Tink. Looks like a match made in binder/bag heaven. I really like it with the second bag also, but as much as I hate to say it, function trumps form when it comes to park bags. I'll be looking forward to hearing how that bag works for you on its trial run this fall.

I'm so sorry that your FIL has to wait-it's hard enough for him already without being on the edge of his seat waiting for results...:headache:

Love your new and very reasonably priced binder cover/book...:thumbsup2

I look quite fetching with the Tink bag...as much as I ADORE that 2nd bag...I'm not sure that's going to do the job you want it to do...:confused3

BTW-I love that you make a cocktail list so that you have choices...;)...and make sure that you are having a quality trip versus the first think that comes your way...

so your saying that's one cocktail per day...:rolleyes1

(Thanks for the Wonderland image you created for me...as you can see I am using it...:goodvibes...I'm still not entirely happy with my signature but since I'm going to begin a PTR within the month...I create something I'm really happy with for that...& I'm still going to incorporate the Wonderland image too...I just have to decide if I want one PTR for Paris/Disneyland Paris and Alice 16th B-day at WDW or if I should break them up....:confused3)

HA! I"m so glad I checked back here tonight!!

I can now see from our times of posting, that I was posting at THE EXACT time as you, and didn't see the whole last post of yours about bags, your next pages etc...

You know, we tend to make this a habit! We did the same thing over on Heidi's thread yesteday, too. :lmao: Go back and look, too funny!

Okay, onto my comments:

Stick with Tink, she's adorable, and uber-perfect (how's that for superfluous verbage?) with the ever-so-cute new binder cover. They are simply meant for each other.

Hmmm... schedules....

I can make absolutely ZERO, nada, none! comments on your Universal days. Never been, probably won't- ever.

Transfer day looks great! I know the kids will def. want some pool time, and they'll have to return the favor with DTD shopping. I"m sure they won't mind though, since you're probably throwing in the Lego Store in addition to Goofys!! Right?!

Sunday is our first day too! I hope the late EMH stays unchanged! And we'll do DTD first thing too!

I will definitely be checking it much closer that time!

Thanks! It may be too small, but we will see. Just a smidge though.

I love the binder! She looks adorable with Tink. Very stylish!

Thanks!
I love the tink bag and I think that one is the one you should go with, lol.

I love Tink too but she is HUGE. Not sure I want to carry a bag that big every day. She is very light and comfy though, I love the straps, so soft.

I'm so sorry that your FIL has to wait-it's hard enough for him already without being on the edge of his seat waiting for results...:headache:

Hmmn....tough call on breaking them up or not. when you decide let me know and we can create a new image for it :)

Uh...no comment on the one per day. That would assume we didn't have anything with lunch or dinner or whatever we buy at the grocery store or have delivered from garden grocer!

Probably not more than one per day from a cocktail specific location....

But then again, there is a lot to be said for comparison shopping and I believe exceptions will be made for the world showcase.

I have noticed overlap on the postings, too funny!

I love Tink, I am just worried she is too big. I know she is too big but she is light. This gives you a better idea of how huge she is.

41fyfH28jHL_SS400_.jpg

She will be the bomb for DTD though!

Actually the kids are not all that into lego's, never have been. Evan went through a huge bionicle phase but it's long past. He is doing a lego mindstorm class right now and loves it so...that could reignite things. They will however want Goofy's, trading pins and World of Disney to check out hats. Not sure how they'd rank those 3. TrendD is for me! And maybe basin...

I just want to do DTD day one so then when we hit the parks it isn't stopping at every pin kiosk and hat stand! Because they will. Evan in particular.

I love, love, love the tink bag. I agree with LL - that's the one. :thumbsup2 That is so darn cute and everyone knows I am not a "bag" girl. I carry my kid's soccer bags - whatever those drawstring things are called.(I forget the name) But I would DEFINATELY carry Tink. And did I hear you right????? $10?????? Is that possible?? I must go back and read your post again. I SO want that bag. Not only is it adorable, it is downright cheap.

On to FIL....sorry the appointment got canceled. Believe me, that happens all the time with my surgeon, too. It's so frustrating. BUT....you should definately be able to get a radiologist read on that PET scan. Call the pulmonologist or the primaryMD and ask them for the radiologist read. That should be easily available to your FIL.

Hope the appt gets rescheduled early next week and FIL's surgery is scheduled shortly thereafter. Keeping my fingers crossed.

YUP! $9.99 on ebay. It was not new but might as well have been, it is in mint condition. I don't think it was ever actually used. The same one is also listed for $50. so if you combine the binder and the bag I've spent a whopping $14 total!

:cool1:

I just did a quick peek (just search by Tinkerbelle Disney Couture and then narrow it down to handbags) and there is a really really cute hot pink version for the same price listed!.

The brand is actually Loop but some sellers don't list that. The one's that do are all charging in the 50-70 range.

It's just so big for everyday. But man is it cute and would hold everything!

They did ask the regular md for a read but I haven't heard if they got it. He is rescheduled for today (should be there now) so we will see if the appointment really happens.

and

:rotfl:

on those bags. I don't know what they are called. Cinch saks maybe? Drawstring bags? We have a bazillion of them.

OOOOOOO Bag Talk! I was waiting :thumbsup2;)

Um...got nothing for you on that topic....

New binder:thumbsup2

I still can't get over how cool your pages look.....

I Love that Tink bag - DD would love that tink bag - DIL would love that Tink bag - I must start Christmas shopping!!

 Your binder pages - I could get down with that size - maybe you could send me your Sunday Aug 15 page so I could see if I could work with it? :worship: pretty please? (angelmum3 at yahoo dot com) IF its not too much trouble, or nuisance...

Last time we went ot Disney - towards the end of our stay - I had booked LTT (the last before the did away with the characters  It was dd favorite food :rolleyes1) Well, I didnt check my handy dandy paper - but just knew the ressie was at 7ish - and we were hungry around 5ish - so we litarlly rode BTMRR till it was close to the time, then thought we'd check to see how long the wait was.... :faint: I messed up - our adr was at 5ish!! I felt so embarrassed - the kind CM did fit us in - turned out that MK was closing at 7 (private party I think rented it out - the whole park closing at 7 and it was NOT MNSSHP?!!)

so I'd like NOT to be caught off guard like that again - and since I"m doing that 13.1 mile run, I'm likely to not be on my best memory...

:dance3:

I cant believe the road your FIL has been traveling on - certainly quite the roadblocks!! One wonders... but this one joins the circle of prayers lifting him up in prayer - may you all feel His peace, and know His presence in this time... :grouphug:

Thanks so much! They look even cooler in the binder, pictures coming soon but I am SO happy with them! And the binder. I think I have a solution for my snack/cs "page" just need to figure out how to execute it and then figure out how to deal with show times.

gotta love ebay!

What I can do is take all the text off of the page and upload a "blank" version that would have all the images, sticky notes ect. I think if you then download it you could probably try pasting it into powerpoint and then place text boxes over it?

The native file is illustrator so unless you have the software it won't work. I don't believe photoshop will let you edit text for an illustrator file but am not sure. I can also upload the 4 single sheets and you can try creating your own stickies in either PowerPoint or any other software you want to place over the backgrounds.

I'll try to get these all into high-res jpgs and will put on the DISisgn site for anyone to use :) I have several of the single pages with disney images ready to go so will put what I have on there, all in the single page format.

I can also do a double blank if you want, just let me know as on those I'll have to remove my text for it to work on your end.
