Lets try something a little upbeat

I know this one

Nights in White Satin

Seventy three men sailed up
From the San Francisco Bay
rolled off of their ship
and here's what they had to say

We're calling everyone to ride along
to another shore
Where we can laugh our lives away
and be free once more

Steve

Ride Captain Ride

O.K. here is one from a band that was here in the D.C. area this past weekend. They were my favorite as a teen, and I would have loved to have gone to see them had time permitted:

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we’ll be there and we’ll see you
Ten true summers we’ll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you’ll see I’ll be there with you

Round About by Yes.

This one is from the mid 70's:

We've been together since way back when
Sometimes I never want to see you again
But I want you to know
After all these years ...

Still the One. I like that song, it kind of reminds me of my DH and me. We've been together all these years too. :)

O.K. another:

Oh, girl I've known you very well
I've seen you growing everyday.
I've never really looked before
But now you take my breath away

Suddenly you're in my life
Part of everything I do
You got me working day and night
Just trying to keep a hold on you.

That one is More than a Woman by the Bee Gees from Saturday Night Fever

Hmmmmmmm. Is this an ELO song Lars? I have the BeeGees' "I Just Want to be your Everything" stuck in my head now because of Snoopy's song. RFLOL!! :) :)

What I posted was an answer to Snoopy's post 4 or 5 before mine that no one answered. I repeated the lyrics first b/c it was a few posts back and I didn't want to confuse anyone.

So who's turn is it ??????
somebody pick the ball up and run with it.

Steve

Well someone has to answer Lars or she has to give us a hint or something. :teeth: Is that an ELO song Lars? Or can you give us a hint?? :teeth: Or do I have to go to Google and cheat again? :p :p :p :teeth:

Uhh, sorry, guys, you are correct, Lars. That is More than A Woman.

How about this one, guys:

She said she'd married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie

I said the years had been a friend to her
And that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I
Saw doubt or gratitude

I hope this is the title snoopy:

Ald Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg. :p :p or something like that! ROTFLOL!! It's a kinda Christmassy song of his. I love Dan Fogelberg!!

Close enough, Saffron. Its called Same Old Lang Syne.

Your turn.

Awww, that is such a romantic song!! It always brings tears to my eyes. Okay, the next song is:

... Back with my wife in Tenessee
When one day she said to me
'Virgil, quick come see, there goes the Robert E. Lee'
Now I don't mind 'em choppin' wood
And I don't care if my money's no good
Just take what you need and leave the rest
But they should never have taken the very best ...

The night they drove old Dixie down.....

Love that song.

How about this:

Looking out on the morning rain
I used to feel uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord, it made me feel so tired
Before the day I met you, life was so unkind
But your love was the key to peace my mind

(This song was recorded originally in the 60's I believe, then re-recorded by another artist in the 70's, which is the one I prefer)
