Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

Aww, I'm sorry your first day had to be one of those rainy ones! That was our second day so I was glad our MK day was nice before it turned dreary. I hate ponchos, and as I mentioned in my TR we usually don't even bother. Too bad we didn't really have much of a choice this time.

looks like you made the best of the rain :) going back to the update before your most recent one I have always wanted to check out that goofy's candy company, was the make your own treat fun? It looked delicious so i guess that was the super improtant part right? Your mickey waffle looked great 2! I haven't had a big mickey waffle in years. We always stay at pop where they only have the little ones.

Yeah in the end though our 2nd MK day was beautiful so it all worked out. Haha I despise ponchos now, after 2 full days of having to put them on, take them off, and repeating that 1000 times!:sad2:

Yep we definitely tried to make the best of the rain, it was hard at times though, mostly justdealing with the ponchos was the biggest pain. Goofy's Candy Co. is amazing! The make your own treat was so much fun and really delicious, I definitely recommend it! The Mickey waffles are so delicious, I can't stop talking about them at home now.

Last year was our first trip to The World and it rained on our first park day too ....and we didn't have ponchos:scared1: Not just a light rain but pouring rain. Looks like you and your parents had a good time!

Aw that must've been pretty miserable! Hopefully it cleared up for the rest of your trip though.
We definitely had a good time though, I can't wait to bring them back again! haha If that will ever be possible:rolleyes1

It kinda just rained off and on for the duration of our trip but never more than an hour, sometimes even less. It rained just enough to cool us down. It was super hot and humid:worship:. I live in California and it does not get that hot where I live:rotfl: We will be visiting The World in 3 months, so looking at your pics are getting me excitedpopcorn::

Oh well that doesn't sound like it was too bad then. The quick showers that cool everythig down are nice sometimes. That is so exciting!! I'm jealous, I just got back less than a month ago but I want to go back again so badly

March 28, 2011- Magic Kingdom Pt. 2

So I last left off with us heading towards the land of singing dolls.

On our way over to Fantasyland, my DDad stopped to take a picture with his idol. Notice his shirt:laughing:

^They definitely have the grumpiness in common, but certainly not the height!

Once we arrived at IASW the wait was only about 10 minutes and the rain had started to come down quicker so it was perfect timing.

This was all our first time on this ride. I read the KK books so I was a little apprehensive of the dolls... Every time one came close to me I thought it was going to attack me:rotfl:

DMom and I loved the big carnival scene with everyone together

I liked the end with all the different ways to say goodbye

On a random note, I actually had a dream last week where I was in some giant deserted mansion and there was a whole room that looked like IASW, it was so creepy.

Anywho, we survived the ride, no attacks, and I was quite glad it was almost over as that darned song was starting to get stuck inside my head. lol

As we were exiting IASW the rain had started to POUR. We waited inside the exit area just watching to see if it would let up at all. Nope. We decided to make a break for it and ran over to do Haunted Mansion.

There was no line at all, we literally just walked into the stretching room which was unfortunate because the new queue area was done. We didn't get to get a good look at it at all, and I had no idea it was an interactive queue! Otherwise I would have played some:goodvibes

The ride was good, my mom and I love the ballroom scene. There was one thing missing on the ride though... the hitchhiking ghosts!!! At the end when the doombuggy turns toward the mirrors and you see the ghost with you...instead we saw mirrors with tarps over them! I just saw a video the other day that they're redoing that. It kinda stunk, that was one of my favorite parts of the ride!:sad2:

After HM we wandered over (in the rain) to Adventureland. We passed through Pecos Bill's to use the bathrooms and my DDad said that we should eat lunch here today (that would later be a bad idea).
So we went to Adventureland and saw that Aladdin & Jasmine were out!

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011071.jpg

There was a pretty short line so we hopped in it. Jasmine noticed I was turning 18 and told me that I'll have to start looking for a husband now:laughing: She suggested I look in the marketplace, maybe steal an apple, but make sure the guy is looking or else I might get my hand cut off...:lmao:.

After meeting them we wandered through the shops in Adventureland.

My DDad liked these ears:lmao:

And then, after almost 18 years, 3 trips to Disney World, at around 11 o clock on Monday March 28, 2011....I got my very first......

DOLE WHIP FLOAT!!!!!!!!!!:worship:

DISNEYWORLDBIRTHDAYTRIP2011073.jpg

^can you tell I'm freezing?!

lol I had been so excited to try one of these! God knows why I wanted to get it while it was pouring rain outside, but I was determined to get my Dole Whip float that day. It was absolutely delicious, but of course I was freezing my butt off after! haha Oh well, it was so worth it and I'd do it again:thumbsup2

After my delicious frozen treat we decided we needed to get out of the rain for awhile. Where would we go next?

Coming Up: Tomorrowland Part 2

Awesome update!

Sorry you had to endur rain and pouring rain even! But of course you powered through and rode It's A Small World, a must-do at Disney. I'm glad to see you enjoyed it though you were afraid of getting attacked LOL The end is actually fairly new to the ride, they added it awhile back, but I know it was new. The Hitchhiking Ghosts were also not working for me when I was there, but they were working on the new queue at the time so there were boards up everywhere. It wasn't a great experience for me the last time I went on HM, mostly because my friends hated it. Though I learned the ride was getting some updates (a la Hitchhiking ghosts) so it was all good after. It also sounds like I need to try a dole whip, too many people are saying they are good, I must get one next time I go. Can't wait to hear about your next "adventure"! :) Update soon! :mickeyjum

That Dole Whip looks absolutely delicious! I have to try one of those when we go! Reading these trip reports show me how much stuff we missed during our trip!

That sucks that the rain came back! At least you made the best of it though. and YAY 4 DOLE WHIPS!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: I seriously LOVE those!!!!!! I liked how you remember when in the day you had yours as well! Obviously you are going to agree with me on my next point but I believe that when your in Disney you should get a dole whip no matter what time of day it is and no matter what the temperature is. We went in january which in florida mean a temperature range of 50-70 degrees. During the daytime it was fine but at night when it got a little chillier I still had to get my classic disney treats.

That's neat, I didn't know the ending to IASW was kind of new. I miss the hitchhiking ghosts, they totally add the final touch of scariness to the ride! I just hope they're back soon. You definitely need to try a dole whip next time you go!! They are so delicious, although I recommend getting one when it's actually hot out so it will be refreshing, and not make you freezing cold like on a rainy day:laughing:

The Dole Whip floats are absolutely amazing, you should definitely get one on your trip! Yeah that's one reason why I love the DIS, the TR's introduce me to new things I'd like to do next time I go :thumbsup2

I just love dole whips:love::love::love:
They are so amazing!! :lovestruc

Haha Dole Whips are the best!!! I actually do agree with you, I think it's important to get the classic snacks no matter what time you go.:thumbsup2 I just felt like a crazy person eating it in the cold pouring rain!! But eating that Dole Whip was a defining moment in my life that I will remember forever:rotfl:

Bummer that there was no hitchhiking ghost. That is the best part when you see which ghost is in your car with you,

:laughing:I've read all the KK books too and IASW is a bit creepy. I can totally see those dolls coming to life and attacking people. That is one ride I would not want to get stuck on. It was closed last year so we missed it. I am not sure if I want to attempt it this year.

:love:Dole Whips are so good! Glad you got to try one.

Haha I laughed at your description of IASW from the KK books, I was glad I had been on the ride before reading those books otherwise i'm not sure I would have had the nerve to get on it.

Awesome update and I'm looking forward to hearing more about your vacation:goodvibes

I know, I love seeing which ghost will end up riding along with you at the end.
I love the KK books!! I just started the 4th one today, I love how the parks truly come alive in them. haha And yes Dole Whips are so amazing!! I could go for one right now actually!

Lol yeah the books definitely made me a little nervous around some of the rides! Glad you're enjoying the TR :)

I just found your trip report & I got so excited when I realized you live in VA! (Possibly NOVA! Since yall were flying out of DC!)
