You are the worst kind of sports fan! If you want the Royals to win so badly go to their foroum and chat with the Royals fan. No need to come in here and ruin our good vibes and spirit. I don't really care what team people are fans of but there is no need to come into the thread for a team you are clearly against.

That makes sense to me, too. We become fans for all sorts of reasons. In some ways, I could be considered a bandwagon fan because I became a Mets fan when they won their first World Series. But I was 8, and my mom and dad were Mets fans, so I became one too. And yes, I've stuck with them even when they were awful, but not everyone does that.

that's what makes a true fan you always stick with your team. even when the Yankees are bad I still wear my Yankees stuff and we still go to games. it makes me nuts when people only like a team when they win and when they lose they move on to another team.

You are doing exactly that rooting for the Royals though! You're a New Yorker can't you just be happy that a NY team is in the series still? Seems kind of bitter to actively root against the Mets in a Mets foroum because you are a die hard Yankee fan.

Also I don't jump. The Mets winning makes a happy household for me but you better believe if they were playing the Astros right now I'd be at that game in full Astros gear!

or this could be like the 00 world series where the Yankees let the mets win game three and then took the next two games. we will see what happens. in out teacher's pool at school I had the mets in six games with them losing the first two games so that may happen.

Exactly. Most of the Yankee fans I know are happy for me. They know I've been rooting for the Mets through thick and thin and respect that. But if this was a Subway Series? They'd be rooting for their team. And I'd have no problem with that at all.

I know that in 1996 and 1997 and 1998 and 1999 and in 2009, I wanted the Yankees to win. I love it when any NY team wins, as a matter of fact. Well, except for the NY Rangers. I'm an Islander fan, and the Islander-Ranger rivalry is just too strong and too deep.

Hi Kimmar! We are Yankee fans in our house until the Yankees are out of the running, then we are baseball fans. Our sons had more friends that were Met fans, so it made for some good natured ribbing. Mets looking good tonight.
