Lesson learned. Need more days in Disney!!! Aug 2010 (NEW 1/20-COMPLETE)

Our trip was great, probably our best yet!!! The dance part was not so fun, but everything else was perfect. Considering I was never able to catch up on my old one, I don't think I'm gonna do a whole TR, but I've been thinking of doing more of a... short trip summery :lmao: We're trying to convince our mom to go again next year, but we're not sure if it's gonna work out. Fingers crossed for OKW next year!

Woow, best yet!!! I'd love to hear about it! A short summary sounds like a good idea. I'd definitely read it. Good luck on getting OKW!

You'll deffinetly have to take a lot of pictures of NYC! I can't wait to see them!

Will you be taking lots of pics too? This trip is for Casey, right?

Anyway, now that I've hijacked your TR, I'll comment on the important stuff :lmao:

Don't worry about hijacking!

Haha, thanks! Me and my references.

Totally feel the same! Right near where I live there's "Ocean Drive" that has all these HUGE, gorgeous houses right on the water. we've always said we'll build our dreamhome there when we win the lottery!!!

Awww, that sounds so sweet!

We've always agreed. Very beautiful and a fun hotel to visit, but the decor is just kinda not our style. Though the MK views are amazing!

Yeah, I understand it's close to MK and the view must be great, but it's a lot of money for a room with not a lot of Disney theming.

 The Wave! delicious! I'd recommend it when you go again

Oh really? I have to put it on my list then.

I always spend so much time at the hotel watching those cartoons! They're just so awesome! And I know I for one would buy a DVD of them all in a heartbeat.

Yes, I'm not the only one! Those cartoons are so fun.

:rotfl2:I've been avoiding Epic Mickey for months! I got stuck on the first robot pirate in the jungle, and can't get passed it! I could move on if I really wanted, but I don't have the heart to not fix robot Daisy.

Awww, I know what you mean. Some levels are really tough.

Can't wait! My favorite place to visit in WDW at night!

I have an update coming soon.

:yay: an update! and :yay: I actually get to comment at this time of night - i guess IT takes Sunday off!

I've never thought about taking the boat over and exploring Contemporary - looks like a fun way to pass the time! I love water, too - are you a Cancer?
I don't keep track of astrology stuff, but sometimes the personalities fit.

Looks like Andrew was a little bored :rotfl2:

So back to Pop for the Good games, huh?

I'm surprised most people haven't done that. I guess it's more of a resort hopping thing to do, huh? It's a very nice ride.

I'm actually a Scorpio! Which is kind of related to water...?

Haha, he's just being his silly self.

Yes, Pop definitely has the better arcade.

Yuki I love the Stitch window !! I have eaten at the Wave twice , once was with Jordan, Blue eyed girl and Winkers , the food was very good !!

Ooooh, I think I kind of remember that! I would love to go just for appetizers.

I'm not even DVC but I've been excited for Bay Lake Towers since they announced it. It just looks very cool and the loft design is cool and the water play area looks like so much fun!

I agree! I don't really have a desire to stay at the Contemporary, but I'd like to stay at BLT someday.

Ok....This chapter should be turned into a drinking game for everytime you read "cool".

I'd be soused.

So, while I was in the ladies room, freshening up, Andrew took this photo of himself.
DSC00596.jpg

"Hey ladies ;)"

I'm not even kidding, that's what he wanted me to caption it with.

Did he consider that a guy might see the picture?!

We really enjoyed just sitting there, watching those old cartoons. I would love to get my hands on them, but can't find them anywhere. Disney really needs to put out a Blu ray of the classics. They would sell like hotcakes.

I agree again!

Our favourite part of the game is unlocking old shorts.

You might think differently if you're running for the bathroom....unlocking old shorts isn't so fun at a time like that. ;)

Hey Yuki! Gotta catch up on these two updates...

I love the WL. It really is breathtaking.

That's so weird that no CMs wanted your comf#! Anytime I've had even a slight problem they want the # right away.

I literally just read another review of WCC where the people were pretty underwhelmed at the food. I LOVE breakfast at WCC, but have never tried lunch/dinner due to seeing these reviews over and over. No matter what, the atmosphere is so fun and the WL is just too beautiful!

Love the prints in the cement! Reminds me of AK.

I love the Contemporary too! The inside is a little too plain for my taste but I still think it's really awesome and would love to stay there.

"Hey Ladies" LOL! :rotfl:

I love when the mousekeepers set up little scenes with my stuff! So fun!

I agree! I don't really have a desire to stay at the Contemporary, but I'd like to stay at BLT someday.

I lot of people seem to think that way. I guess it's cause BLT is just so modern and new, huh?

I'd be soused.

I had to look that word up :rolleyes1 Would that be a good or a bad thing?

Did he consider that a guy might see the picture?!

I'm not sure he knows that guys even READ my TR!

Hey Yuki! Gotta catch up on these two updates...

I love the WL. It really is breathtaking.

It really is, it's just so hard to describe its majesty.

That's so weird that no CMs wanted your comf#! Anytime I've had even a slight problem they want the # right away.

I KNOW!!! I kept reading on the DIS how much they use those numbers and how helpful it is for CMs, but they never once used mine, even when I offered it! So weird.

I literally just read another review of WCC where the people were pretty underwhelmed at the food. I LOVE breakfast at WCC, but have never tried lunch/dinner due to seeing these reviews over and over. No matter what, the atmosphere is so fun and the WL is just too beautiful!

Yeah, I would go just for the atmosphere. The food is fairly priced anyways. I mean, that skillet was under $20! Like...$18 I think? Definitely worth it if you're a big eater anyways.

Love the prints in the cement! Reminds me of AK.

YES! Actually, it was Andrew who kept noticing the prints in the cement. I guess it's good that I just let the magic get to him instead of trying to show him the magic eh? I've still got a ways to go before I can convince him that DVC is a GOOD idea, lol.

I love the Contemporary too! The inside is a little too plain for my taste but I still think it's really awesome and would love to stay there.

Absolutely. I also think it's cool that the monorail goes through it.

"Hey Ladies" LOL! :rotfl:

He's so silly.

I love when the mousekeepers set up little scenes with my stuff! So fun!

It totally makes the room so much cooler. I saw in another room, they had mickey ballons on the window sill!

Hi Yuki!!!!

Hey Rosie! Oh yeah, I forgot to post my pictures of our short Dismeet.

Chapter 23. Day 5 pt.3-Night on the (Down)Town

We took a short nap and watched some TV. Believe it or not, I didn't watch a lot of Stacy (a travesty, I know). Instead, we spent most of our time, watching the Disney Channel, which was playing mostly Phineas and Ferb, Suite Life on Deck, and Kickbuttowski. We only get the "Family Channel" up here in Canada, and it doesn't even play the latest shows. What's worse is I don't have cable, so I can't even watch them! Soooo, we took advantage of the TV in our room. Isn't that weird? Going to Disney World to watch the Disney Channel, haha.

Another side story, I asked Andrew to get ice for our ice bucket SEVERAL times during the trip. He would always return real quick cause the room was very close to us, but in the end, I still didn't know where it was! I can't even imagine where it could be...See, these little stories are why you read my TR, right? I love you guys. :grouphug:

So, after a good resting from our restful afternoon, we headed out for DtD at 7pm. We had to run for the bus because it was already there when we got to the bus depot! It was also drizzling and sprinkling a little.

This time, we checked out the stores we didn't go into, but I really wanted to see. Ok....I don't have a lot of pictures from tonight because I think I was busy filming....and Andrew didn't feel much of a need to take more photos? I also didn't take a lot of notes, so I'm going on pure memory for this night.

So....I know we went into the Christmas store because I LOVE Christmas. Everything about Christmas I love. Well...not the sad parts....because in the world of social work....boy, we can get pretty cynical about the holidays...Moving on!

I love the sounds, the music, the smells, the colours, the decorations, the tastes, and most of all, how happy most people seem! It's like being at Disney World! Green and red are also my favourite colours, so I LOOOOVE dressing up in Christmas colours without people asking me WHY I was dressed in Christmas colours. :thumbsup2 Also, everything's so SPARKLY and GLITERRY.

I remember going around the store, looking at all the ornaments I can't have (YET) because I don't have a tree anymore. Our family used to have one of those plastic trees that we kept in the basement. I loved decorating it with christmas cards and candy canes and presents under the tree. But the older we got, the less presents (that weren't money) we received, and the less reason we had to put the tree up every year.

So, I loved looking through the store to see what kind of ornaments I'll get in the future when I finally have my own place and my own tree to decorate. I'm also really excited about stockings!!! I don't even care for a fireplace, but I can't wait to get stockings.

OH yeah, this was a trip report right? After spending a considerable time in the Christmas store, we headed next door to the Art of Animation store. Andrew and I both love animation AND art, so it was great for both of us.

My gosh.....isn't the stuff in there just breathtaking? There were SO MANY paintings I wanted. One day....my own place.....it'll be like a Disney art museum, I swear.

For adult use only....

Andrew loved this figurine.
DSC00616.jpg

And I loved this one!
DSC00617.jpg

That's right, we also love figures. Actually, between the two of us....we have well over 100 figures and figurines....We're gonna need a very large display case.

Ok...at this point....I think I remembered I wanted to see where WPE was. I had seen a sign, but wasn't sure where it was. It's actually right next to the Earl! :headache: I can't believe I didn't see it earlier. We pondered about whether we should grab a pizza or not but A) the line was OUT THE DOOR and B) we had tons of leftovers from WCC, so we passed. Next time!! Because I know how much Karin loves it, so I must try it.

After that....I think we looked around Mickey's Mart because they sell only $10 and under stuff there. I was pretty disappointed because it was all pretty much things you could find in EVERY OTHER gift shop, except they were all $10 and under. Nothing special there.

I'm pretty sure at this point....we headed towards Goofy's Candy company because that makes sense in my head...I HAD to check this place out. It's SO MUCH cooler than I expected! I mean, the theming is adorable!!

I loved this sign.
DSC00620.jpg

They had mixing pots and utensils and candy making stuff and it was so colourful! So fun and cheery. Again, I didn't take many photos cause I was busy filming but Andrew should've taken more photos anyways!

The walls were lined with CANDY. Usually, I'm not easily tempted by candy places. I mean, if I wanted a lot of something, I'd go to Costco. BUT, I'm a sucker for gummy candy. Gummy bears, worms, keys, feet, you name it.

Fortunately, there was one kind of gummy candy I can't easily find anywhere. MICKEY GUMMY!!!!!!!! I bought a big bag. I didn't take a picture of it when I got it, but when I realized that mistake after I got home, I had already finished (with the help of my sibs and friends of course :rolleyes1 ) a large portion of it, but here's a picture!

SSPX0171.jpg

No matter what candy I'm eating, green is always my favourite "flavour". I remember telling my sibs not to eat the green Mickeys, haha. I'm such a child. An even BETTER thing about these gummies (in case it wasn't awesome enough) is that they are actually FLAVOURED. I guess some gummy bears have flavours....but most of them don't. At least not the ones I've tried. I was pretty excited about these gummy Mickeys having different flavours. Green is still the best :thumbsup2

If you haven't noticed by now, I've been trying to insert as many smileys as I can to make up for my lack of pictures.

So, enough about me and candy, let's talk about ANDREW and candy!

His favourite are jelly beans. Which is why he loves this sign.
DSC00618.jpg

Made with JELLY BEANS.:cool1:
DSC00619.jpg

He looked like he could eat the sign.

Alas, we get jelly bellies up here, so there was no need to buy any of that stuff in Florida. It was still very tempting for him.

After looking through the counters some more, checking out the (expensive!) goodies, I decided to get this.
DSC00621.jpg

It's a little cracked because it broke on the way back to my room. It was DELICIOUS. I don't even remember how much it cost, but it was probably worth it. Man, Disney makes such amazing cookies. Not too hard, not too soft and crumbly, not too sweet, and just chewy enough. :cloud9:
The chocolate dipped parts were best.

After that, our last stop for the night was Basin. My feet and body were aching, so I wanted to give those bath bombs a try. I bought 3 of the small ones a deal...don't remember what it was. 2 relaxation and 1 blue. Why blue? Because it's name was just "blue". No description or anything. It smelled "blue". In the end, it just makes the water blue. The relaxation bombs were :cloud9:. I can't wait to go back to Florida just for those bombs. I would never dare take a bath in my own bathroom. It would take at least an hour of scrubbing and washing...

Has anyone ever bought anything from the Basin online store? I've always been interested....it'll be like ordering a bit of Disney World for your house!

So, we got home, I took a wonderfully relaxing bath, ate leftovers for dinner, and drifted off to sleep. We had an early day ahead of us.

Coming up next: An Anniversary we'll NEVER forget.

Looks like a nice time at DTD! :thumbsup2 You are so funny about the green gummies!:rotfl: I've always thought the gummies had different flavors - I haven't eaten alot of them because they are not chocolate!:goodvibes

Now the cookie looks TDF! :lovestruc

I love to go into the Christmas store, too. I love all Christmas stores!:santa:

I'm looking forward to see what your anniversary holds on store!

The contemporary has grown on me. The theming has never done much for me, but I am really interested in staying at blt. I love the location, the water area, and my beloved California Grill of course. :thumbsup2

I went to NYC for a girls' weekend in May. It is so much fun!

Edited to add that you made me drool with your pictures of Goofy's. I don't know why we've never been there!!

So was that your first time watching Phineas and Ferb?!?!?!?! I'm ADDICTED to that show, it's just so much fun!

The christmas store has always been one of our favorites. We get an ornament every time we go on a vaction!

I could spend hours in the Art of Animation Stores! Everything is beautiful and every picture/painting has so much to see. I also love the little figuries they sell especially the ride ones!

Alright so I saw the haunted mansion figurine, and it reminded me-- had you heard about the updates they did? If not, PM me and I'll tell you all about it!

We've never actually been inside Goofy's Candy Co., though I'm not sure why. I do like the candy store on mainstreet! We'll have to stop in next time, as everything looked delicious!

Great Update Yuki!!I collect Santa ornaments and Santa anything !! We all a big Christmas Freaks at this house and while we've scaled back on the big meals , the decorating and the traditional Christmas eve and Christmas mornings are very important to us all !!It;s one day of the year I refuse to work !!I definately want to check out Basin more this month and as I have decided ,thanks to Lessa , that the Tuesday supper will be at WPE that will be our DTD day too !!

Wow, I am so glad to see this post. I don't think I have ever seen a 2nd Chinese who posts here. I enjoy your post a lot!

HEY GUYS!!! I just want to remind you guys that I'm NOT IGNORING you, you know how much I love you guys.

I just finished the last exam of my (first) undergrad!!!! My hand is still KILLING ME. I don't like essay exams....I was surprised I wrote as much as I did though.

So, before I get to writing those FOUR papers that are due on the 15th, I had to pop by to remind you guys I'm still around!

I love pretty much everything about Christmas as well. It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It really is!!! LOVE Christmas. I just don't like the cold harsh winters that come with it...but December's weather has been pretty good for the last few years.

Hey Tammie!!! Haha, yes I'm pretty strict about colours and candy....I actually have a set colour sequence when I eat gummies or smarties or m&ms.

Haha, I think I like gummies more than chocolate!

Oh yes, that cookie was SOOOO good, and I'm pretty particular choco chip cookies too!

I can't wait to be able to buy stuff from the Christmas store.

Of course I know how much you love CG ;) I'm actually considering an ADR to get just apps there and maybe catch Wishes.

A girls' weekend sounds awesome!! I'm really excited about visiting NYC!!

You've never been in Goofy's??? That must be remedied on your next trip!

So was that your first time watching Phineas and Ferb?!?!?!?! I'm ADDICTED to that show, it's just so much fun!

I've seen Phineas and Ferb before, when I visit my parent's place because THEY have cable TV. I LOVE it too! I need to watch more of them online. I love Parry and Candice.

Yeah, a lot of people have the tradition of buying an ornament. Thank goodness Disney has that Christmas store eh?

Oh yes, the ride figurines are my favourite. They just bring you right back into the parks.

Oh yeah, I've heard so much about the new Haunted Mansion queue!! I've already seen youtube vids of it, haha. It looks awesome.

Oh wow, you've never been in Goofy's either? It's just a really fun place to check out. Get's crowded easily....but I'm sure the daytime would be better.

Great Update Yuki!!I collect Santa ornaments and Santa anything !! Oh Rosie, I didn't know you collected Santa stuff? That's so cool! Haha, I thought you were already going to DTD with Karin.

Great start,I love the wal-mart minnie mouse sunglasses too:thumbsup2

:welcome: to my TR!!! There's a lot to catch up on, so I hope to see you soon! I love my sunglasses :lovestruc

Wow, I am so glad to see this post. I don't think I have ever seen a 2nd Chinese who posts here. I enjoy your post a lot!

:welcome: I'm so glad you found my TR!!

I felt the exact same way when I first came here. I guess Chinese people aren't so big on DisneyWorld. I mean, they have more Japanese visitors than Chinese ones!!

Anyways, we're not alone! You should check out Rachel (RachelNinja) and Su-Lynn's (chunkymonkey) TRs as well!

Hey Yuki! I know you're super busy with school stuff still (yuck) but I thought I'd let you know that I started my TR. Hope to see you there :goodvibes

1 down, 3 to go!!

Yikes, that is a lot of papers in a short amount of time. Have fun! :lmao:

Haha, thanks for the encouragement!

Hey Yuki! I know you're super busy with school stuff still (yuck) but I thought I'd let you know that I started my TR. Hope to see you there :goodvibes

I've already subscribed but won't have time to play your game. Maybe I'll catch up those points in future updates! I can't believe you're back already!

I'M DOOOOOOONE!!!!!!!!! ALL MY PAPERS!!! ALL MY EXAMS! I'M DONE MY UNDERGRAD!!!!!

Hey everybody!!! I'm so happy to finally be done all my papers and to have everything handed in. I'm finally graduating!!! :cool1:

This week is going to be a busy one. I'll be moving from my current house to another place down the street due to some complications with my current landlord. I have 3 years worth of stuff to pack and move!

Then, I'll have to pack for NYC and Salt Lake City because I leave on the 21st. I'm very excited about that!

After, I'll have to seriously work hard on getting a job.

I think I'll be able to write up an update this Wed or Thurs. I can't wait to tell y'all about my AK day already!

Oh yeah, most importantly, I have to catch up with all y'all TRs!!! See you guys soon.
