lesbians need not apply

well, i'll say again that i don't consider a family photo on the desk to be an announcement of one's sexual preference...i guess 'cause it is IN a person's office, ON a person's desk and it doesn't scream a sexual preference. a giant flag in an office window where a person can't help seeing it, where you can't even see who works in that office, is a little "screamy".

Some call that Pride. ;)

hmmm...wasn't thinkin' 'bout the "t" and i know very little about it. but even if a person is "t", do they then identify with the current state of gender?

Gender identity is interestin' to say the least. :scratchin

I'm just makin' the point that all isn't as it appears. :)

That's the thing. When speaking of gender...we're given two boxes to choose from.

Not everyone fits into one of those two boxes.

And it's really no one's business but the person themselves, which, if any, box they sink themselves into.

Gender is quite a continuum. :upsidedow

Me. Yes I want to be married. It might not be for the reasons most people want to be married. I want the legal protections. I want my girlfriend (of 13 years) to be able in inherit without penalty (or conflict), to make medical decisions and oddly maybe the most important to me I want to make sure that when we are old that we can stay together and a nursing home will not seperate us.

About the rings, don't most people assume that they have a wife (if it is a gay couple)?

i'm not sure how other people interpret rings exactly...to me it just means "married" or "taken". i never wonder to whom.

i kinda figured that about the pictures...how 'bout the rings?

I'm sure if someone filed a DADT complaint about a soldier, it would have to be investigated.

And you don't have to announce yourself as heterosexual, heterosexual is the assumption, the standard.

there are some people who identify with neither gender all the time, some people call this "gender queer" though not everyone uses the term. my current gf is somewhere between "girl" and "boy" in terms of gender identity, but does not wish to become a male OR a man, she just doesnt like the "boxes" gender tries to put her in...

interesting. thanks for the perspective.

k. this is going to take quite a bit of rewriting for california laws, at the very least.

WDW itself is usually fine, it's the outside hotels and clubs that can get a little crazy. I had a friend who worked at Gaylord Palms and hoo boy-it gets WILD over there.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Coincidence? :scratchin

HA! ariel's grotto at cal. adv. i think was the wildest in anaheim. it was fun but too crowded and loud for me. the friends i went with thought so too.

I don't know-is there a pact with the single gay folks to all stay there? Maybe they just like the name.

The families all seem to be on site at WDW, which is why it's really no different than any other weekend.

We were there last year during Gay Days! The parks, the atmosphere, were all amazing. And of course, fabulous.

:rainbow:

I was there during gay days this year, it wasn't any bussier than a normal weekend day. But it has been really slow there all this year.

oh man, really? i felt like i was elbow to elbow with lots of red shirts every time i went with my friends during gay days.

slow this year? hmmm....perhaps a trip is in order....i haven't been to a disney park since last may and it's killin' me.

(i'm in love with those houses being built near you...how do you like the city you live in? do you commute far? i'd need to get from about the 152 exit on 101 to foster city, and later just into santa clara if i moved there...this is in parentheses so nobody else can read this, right?)
