Day 3:
Castaway Cay
So today we ordered room service for breakfast. I figured this way we don't have to be awake really early to get to the buffet. I set a wake up call for 9:00 and had breakfast come at 9:30. We were both really looking forward to going to beach and relaxing. For the past couple days I was trying to stay out of the sun because I didn't want to get some nasty tan lines for my wedding day.
(I guess our HR rep at work just got married in Vegas the week or so before we did and the managers told me she burned the day before so she had these really bad tan lines and a strapless dress)
Well my day started off really poorly. As we stopped to get some pics of the ship and the Dutchman, I was looking through the bag for the watch and I accidentally broke our brand new water bottle that I bought for him. I was never expecting it to be a breakable plastic but it shattered good. And as you can all probably guess I am the type of person who will "cry over spilt milk" so for the next hour or so I was visibly upset. All I was trying to do was figure out how close we were to the Jack Sparrow time. (In all honesty I'm still choked up about this because Dakota really liked it. It had a little compass on the front)
Capt. Jack was hilarious he grabbed some reeds and was shaking them at people in the line saying he "had to get rid of the bad chi". He got up to one little kid and the kid screamed, it was great. (Kid was 6 or 7 and afterwards he was joking that he was scared of Capt. Jack) Every once in a while as people were having pictures taken he would stop and look through the bushes for the rum.
When it was our turn he made us spin around in circles.
We walked the entire distance to the palm central station tram stop along the way we stopped to do a little shopping at "She Sells". I looked at the sign that said the walking time to Serenity Bay was 26 minutes and I said no way! We took the tram. My sister had saved us a chair at the Adult beach which was nice because it meant I could go right to relaxing. Dakota and I were the first ones to get into the water, everyone else was too busy soaking up the sun. It was a little chilly when you first get in (that is completely normal) but once we dunked ourselves once it was fine. We loved that you could go so far out and the water was still only up to your waist. Word of warning though: The left hand side of Serenity Bay is not smoothed out so there are a lot of holes that you can step in. Walk halfway down the beach and it's tons better. Once we found the better part of the beach it was great, just floating in the waves. I almost wish I was there right now.
The crystal clear water is something I always liked about the Bahamas (maybe the only thing but that's just me) You could see all the little schools of fish swimming around. Dakota had a big fish some up and slap him in the leg.
I really loved the food we had at CC they had such a great selection of food. Even picky eaters in our group found something. Making me hungry now. We also had some kind on strawberry banana smoothie type drink. We got one with rum and one non alcoholic. I still think the virgin one was better.
Dakota was nice while I relaxed in the beach chair he took the tram back and got me a present since I had such a bad day. He got me the "Mine" beach towel with all the seagulls from Finding Nemo it was awesome.
The tide started to go out and you could walk over the coral and get some nice pics. Dakota found starfish, sea urchins its cool to see them close up.
We left CC by 3pm I was smart this time and took the trams all the way back to the ship. I mean I did really good walking but I did not want to overdo it with the bad knee and all.
Unfortunately we both got way too much sun. Even with sunscreen on Dakota burned really bad, we didn't notice my burn until later but it was where my bra straps would be so just having any slight pressure there made it hurt. (Besides my scalp the only spot I burned was my right shoulder blade but boy did it smart!) We both laid down for a nap and had a really good sleep before dinner.
After I woke up I ran down to grab a pair of pirate Mickey ears since I forgot to pick up something for myself to wear for pirate night. I bought Dakota his Goofy Ears the first night and hid them from him.
One of the great parts of the day was when Dakota told me that as he was heading back to the room, in his pirate goofy ears, a little kid behind him yelled "Goofy!" Dakota turned around and the kid says "You're not Goofy but you've got his big feet! He could do nothing but laugh.

I put on my ears and changed into my nice tropical dress and away we went to dinner.
I was worried at first because I realized that I had never picked anything off the pirate menu that I wanted to eat so I had to make a rush decision. But I really made the right one. I ordered the Treasure of the Seas grilled shrimp and seared scallops with a pasta and creamy tomato sauce. It was so good. I ordered another plate without the meat because I could've probably ate 5 plates of that pasta. Only night that I can say I was too full for dessert. The serving team brought us 2 pins that said it's our honeymoon and a large slab of strawberry shortcake with a congratulations sign on it. Too bad I couldn't eat much of it.
Next was up to deck 10 for the pirate party. I had to make a quick stop at the room so I asked everyone to save me a seat so I didn't have to stand for too long. Of course my darling husband made sure he found me a really good spot. I felt bad because I had to send him off to grab my sweater because for some unknown reason I was cold. (Probably the sunburn) and then when he went to grab me a pirate punch they gave him the third degree about not being over 21 and that it wasn't his KTTW card asking for his ID. Thankfully they came to their senses and gave him the drink. BTW he was a day shy of turning 24 and he did have his KTTW card. I told him he should've shown them the pin and said look I'm just getting my wife a drink since you're not coming to us. I did get my drink.
I loved the pirate party and the fireworks were fantastic. Fitting way to finish the day.
I forgot about the pirate buffet. Not that I could've enjoyed it anyway.
We made one final stop in Wavebands since I promised my friend that i would come out one night. Had one Stingray and that pretty much put an end to my night. At least I got to hear some really good karaoke singers. One guy got 2 shots and a standing ovation he was that good.
Here's our towel animal for the night:
