Poll Coming.

Which way do you lean politically?

I have a feeling we're gonna lean far to one side here.... ;)

Ohhh, I thought this was going to be a "what side do you part your hair on" question.

Left, in both cases.

Depends on the issue.

I am Libertarian, some people will tell you that is left, some right, some middle. In actuallity it is sometimes left, sometimes right, and sometimes completely out of the box.

I'm a liberal. Which as an above poster said can be all over the map.

Well, not really. If you are liberal you lean left. You can certainly lean right on certain issues.

Libertarian can be all over the place. Different animal altogether. Myself, I am right down the middle... registered independent. But close to becoming a Libertarian, though.

Ditto - same politics, same hairstyle! We may be long-lost sisters....

I lean to the right, but I'm not leaning so much I fall over!

I'm a leftie on the hair part and the politics, too!

I live in a conservative county in a conservative state and am registered "unaffiliated." I will be voting in the Republican primary for local offices in May, but I'll be voting for the most left-leaning ones. :rotfl2:

Registered independant, but a firm Libertarian; which, as noted above, is pretty much all over the road depending on the issue at hand.

I am one of the least politicaly motivated people you will ever meet ;) I judge issues on their own merit, no passion what so ever for sides.

Wow lots of Libertarian's here. I don't even know what that meansreally.
And I am pretty far left.

Just call me Comrade Haley. Just kidding. I think.

" clowns to left of me, jokers to the right. Here I am. Stuck in the middle with you"

sorry. couldn't resist:rotfl:

 Ditto that!

I think this explains my leanings pretty well:

Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him,
a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him,
a good guy when Cheney did business with him
and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist,
but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony (.....and damn good business)

A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body,
but multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

Jesus loves you and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches
while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy.
Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.

Pharmaceutical corporations, HMO's and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.

Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science but creationism should be taught in schools.

A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense.
A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's cocaine conviction is none of our business.

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host.
Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

What Bill Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80's is irrelevant.

To the person that said they didn't really know what "libertarian" meant, it means, basically, that they are for minimal government interference in daily life. That means they tend to be pro-choice, anti-government regulation on business, anti-social programs, pro-gay marriage, and heavily anti-taxes.

As you can imagine, that tends to result in them being all over the "map" on the political spectrum, as all of those things are fairly firm planks of differing political parties.

As for me... :teeth: Obviously, I lean pretty heavily to the left on most issues. Only things I can think of that I tend to waver on are capital punishment and some fiscal issues. Otherwise, I'm firmly in the Democratic camp.

wvrevy has done a good job describing Libertarians. In summary, Libertarians tend to side with Democrats on social issues and Republicans on economic issues.

Kind of a "stay out of my wallet and my bedroom" message to government.
