I am looking for kid friendly places near the resort and possibly a good place to take them for Easter dinner. Seafood would be nice or a restauant with a waterview would be nice.

Any suggestions?

thanks:smooth:

Hudson's might be nice. It's a seafood restaurant -- but towards the mainland from the resort. It's not too fancy, very kid-friendly, and has great food -- the absolute BEST hushpuppies!! Not sure if they're doing anything special for Easter. Normally they don't take reservations, but maybe for a holiday they do?

Some of the larger hotels (Westin, Marriott, etc.) have buffets and I'm sure they will have them for Easter dinner.

I think the resort may be doing an Easter dinner that can be delivered to your room, as well. If you haven't received something in the mail, give them a call. They do a great job with these!

There's a nice, supposedly family resturaunt right nearby called Scott's Fish Market. We were at HH in March and didn't notice it, but others have liked it. The one we liked was a couple miles from the resort-Captain's Seafood.

Captain's Seafood is not fancy, but it is very good. Even Chef Gordon highly recomended it. The Old Oyster Factory was also nice and seemed kid friendly, but was a bit more expensive.

I second the Captain's Seafood suggestion. An oyster roll there is a must on every trip for me (we go every 3 weeks). It's to your right as you exit onto the highway, right past Hilton Head Diner.

Another good spot for kids is the Crazy Crab, almost off the Island, on your left going out. There's also one in Sea Pines, but we think this one is better. They get my vote for best hush puppies (kind of peppery-sweet). The decor is kind of entertaining for kids, with a huge fish tank and lots of cutesy stuff. Best of all, they have an outdoor wrap-around deck where you can sit and wait for your name to be called, with a lovely marsh view and overlooking a small fenced-in playground. Whoever thought that one up deserves a medal. They have a musician and bar set up outdoors in the summer; maybe they will do it for Easter week also.

We love Scotts at Shelter Cove, Kingfisher is also good coice there. Old Oyster Factory further in on the island is wonderful with great views.
Connears

Nearby seafood choices include Scott's. We ate there twice and really enjoyed it. Also tried the Kingfisher, but weren't thrilled with it. Highly recommend Scott's.
